How do I solve the church Trident puzzle in The Sinking City 2?
Use the Star Key to enter the Star-locked room upstairs in the church and collect the Trident. Carry it to the graveyard obelisk and enter the four symbols in this top-to-bottom order:

Place the Trident on the obelisk and step away. After three lightning hits, when all three charge indicators are lit, retrieve it and return to the church. Put the charged Trident back where you found it, take the dagger from the statue directly in front of the altar, and insert the dagger into the altar slot to open the route below. Where to find the Star Key, Trident, and clues
Get the Star Key
Look for the key on a corpse beside the church blockage switch. Some guides use different wording for the key, so rely on the Star Key name when it matches the clue or inventory label in your game.
Take the Trident and read the notes
Use the Star Key on the Star-locked door upstairs in the church, then pick up the Trident inside. Two notes help connect the gods to the obelisk symbols: “Call Upon Believers” is at the church altar, while “First Vision” is in the Star-locked crypt in the graveyard. How to read and enter the obelisk symbols
Enter the symbols top to bottom in the order shown above. The clue’s “from the depth to the heights” wording refers to reading upward from the bottom; it does not change the order in which you set the sections. Match the etched pictures in your game as well as the names: guides may describe the top emblem as an arrowhead or spearhead, and shorthand descriptions of the fourth symbol can be less precise than “Splayed Womb.”
How to charge the Trident with lightning
Once the symbols are set, mount the Trident on the obelisk and move away. Wait for three lightning strikes, checking for a charge indicator after each hit. Nearby enemies may appear during this sequence, so stay alert rather than standing beside the obelisk. Retrieve the Trident after the third indicator lights.

What to do at the altar after charging the Trident
Return to the church and put the charged Trident back in the room where it came from. In the changed church area, take the dagger from the statue directly in front of the altar and place it in the altar slot. This opens the descent to a basement encounter.
