You can’t change the country or currency of an existing PlayStation account on PS5. How to check the country/region on your account
Check the account record rather than inferring the region from where you live or where your console is being used.
- On the web: Sign in to Account Management, open Your Information, then select Edit your Residential Address. The country/region appears at the bottom of the page.
- In the PlayStation App: Open Settings > Account Information, then select Edit under Residential Address.

If your PlayStation Store payment is failing
A payment problem does not mean you can change the account’s region. PlayStation says a card registered in a different country from the Store region may not link. Payment methods vary by country or region; consult PlayStation’s payment guidance for options available to your Store.
- Where possible, try a payment card from the same region as the account’s Store.
- Consider another payment method supported in that region.
- You can use a PlayStation Store wallet top-up code to add funds, but confirm the specific code matches your account’s region before buying or redeeming it.
PlayStation voucher codes and account regions must match for activation. A top-up code funds the existing regional wallet; it does not convert the account to another region or currency.
