You generally can’t switch Netflix to another country’s full catalog with a VPN. Netflix says VPN connections may show only titles it has licensed worldwide, and the country on your account cannot be changed unless you move to a new country. If you’re traveling, Netflix’s available titles can change with your location; if Netflix misidentifies where you are, its location troubleshooting is the better fix.
How do I change my Netflix region?
First distinguish your account country from the location Netflix detects for your internet connection. Netflix says the country on an account cannot be changed unless the subscriber moves to a new country. A VPN changes the apparent network location; it does not change the account country or guarantee access to that country’s catalog.

Netflix warns that when you use a VPN, you may see only shows and films for which it has worldwide licensing. It says turning the VPN off may be necessary to see titles available in your region. For Netflix’s explanation, see Watching TV shows and movies through a VPN and Changing the country on your account.
How to change Netflix country with a VPN?
There is no reliable, Netflix-supported VPN procedure for switching to another country’s complete library. Connecting to a VPN server in another country may make your connection appear to come from there, but Netflix does not promise that this will change the catalog you can watch. It may instead limit what appears to globally licensed titles.

If you’re traveling or have just moved
Netflix’s available selection can change across borders because titles are licensed by territory. After arriving in a different country, Netflix recommends signing out and signing back in. A move may also affect the country associated with your account; Netflix says that country cannot be changed unless you move. See Using Netflix while traveling and Changing the country on your account.
If you see a VPN or proxy message
Netflix says these errors can mean that your connection is using a VPN or proxy. Disable it and try Netflix again. VPN use is also unsupported for live events and ad-supported viewing, so changing VPN servers is not a dependable solution in those cases. See Netflix says ‘You seem to be using a VPN or proxy’.

Why does Netflix say this title is not available in my current region?
A missing title does not necessarily mean Netflix has assigned your whole connection to the wrong country. Availability can depend on territorial licensing and release timing; a title may also have left the service, be hidden by a profile’s maturity settings, or not appear because of the profile language. Check those possibilities before changing network settings. Netflix lists them in Why does Netflix say a title is not available in my current region?.

Why might a Netflix download stop working abroad?
A download that played at home may not play in another country if Netflix does not have the relevant rights there. Netflix advises reconnecting after returning to a country where the title is available. Travel can change title availability even when the download itself remains on your device. See Can I watch Netflix while I’m traveling?.
