Change your Google profile picture from your Google Account’s Personal info → Profile picture settings. Choose or take an image, adjust its crop, then save it. The same account picture appears across Google services, although YouTube’s profile picture is separate.
Change your Google profile picture on a computer
- Sign in to your Google Account and open Google Account.
- Select Personal info.
- Under Basic info, choose Profile picture.
- Upload an image from your computer or choose one from Google Photos.
- Crop or rotate the image as needed, select Next, then choose Save as profile picture.
Change it on an Android phone or tablet
- Open myaccount.google.com in a browser and sign in if prompted.
- Tap Personal info, then Profile picture.
- Tap Change or Add profile picture, then tap Next.
- Take a new picture or select one from your device. Position it in the square and tap Save as profile picture.
Change it on an iPhone or iPad
- Open a Google app, such as Gmail or Maps. If you do not have one installed, open myaccount.google.com or a Google service in your browser.
- Tap your profile picture or initial, then tap Manage your Google Account.
- Tap Personal info, then Profile picture.
- Tap Change or Add profile picture. Choose an existing picture or take one, then position it in the square.
- Tap Next, then Save as profile picture.
What changes—and what does not
Your profile picture is associated with your Google Account, so it is used across Google services. It does not automatically change your YouTube profile picture; YouTube’s picture is managed separately. If you have not added a photo, Google displays your account initials instead. If the new picture is not showing yet
Google says a profile-picture change can take a few days to appear across its products. To refresh what you see, try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies or signing out of your account and signing back in. Google also notes that some products have separate settings; its Gmail-specific guidance about changing a name concerns the name, not a separate Gmail profile-picture setting.

View a previous profile picture
Google lets you view past profile pictures from the profile-picture menu. The route can vary by device; consult Google Account Help for the device-specific instructions.
