Open Contacts, then pick the route that matches your goal. To make a different existing contact your own card, select it and choose Card > Make This My Card. To change details on the card you already have, select it, click Edit, make your changes, and click Done. Apple documents these as two separate actions, and the steps below cover both.
Find your current My Card
Contacts creates a card for you automatically when you set up a Mac, according to Apple Support. To find it:

- Open Contacts on your MacBook Air.
- Look for My Card at the top of the contacts list, or choose Card > Go to My Card from the menu bar.
Option 1: Edit the details on your current card
Use this to fix a phone number, email address, or address, or to add new fields.

- Select your card (use Card > Go to My Card).
- Click Edit.
- Change the information you want.
- Click Done to save.
Change your picture or Memoji
While in Edit mode, click the picture and choose a new one. Apple notes that this picture or Memoji also becomes your Apple Account picture and your Mac login picture, so it is not only a contacts change. (Apple Support)

Option 2: Make a different contact your card
Use this if Contacts is pointing at the wrong card, for example an older entry, or if you have created a new card with the right details.
- In Contacts, select the contact that should be you.
- Choose Card > Make This My Card.
Check that you picked the right entry first. This changes which contact is designated as yours; it does not edit or merge any fields.

Make sure the change syncs to your other devices
When the same Apple Account is signed in on your devices and Contacts is turned on in iCloud settings, the card you designate becomes My Card on those devices too. Edits to contacts also appear on them under that same iCloud condition, per Apple’s guides on My Card and adding contacts. If a change does not show up elsewhere, confirm both of those conditions on each device.

Contacts shares a card as a vCard file, and you can send it by options such as Mail, Messages, or AirDrop. Before sending, review the vCard settings and the per-field Share choices. Apple says you can leave out notes and photos, and a private card can limit which fields are included. See Share a contact in Contacts on Mac.
