YouTube says encoder and mobile metadata can be set at creation or changed from stream settings using Edit, but does not explicitly guarantee that title and thumbnail fields remain editable for every already-live encoder configuration. If a field is missing, the reviewed official guidance does not establish another guaranteed route for changing it on that active broadcast.

The stream key is not the title or thumbnail setting: it is the credential/address used to send the encoder feed to YouTube. If you mean the completed archive
Find the recording in YouTube Studio’s Live/content listing, open its video details where available, and inspect the editing controls for that archive. The production guide distinguishes current, upcoming, and past streams and directs creators to manage them through Studio. A completed archive is a different object from the active broadcast, so verify the public video itself after saving.
If you need a complete archive of a truly continuous broadcast, plan recording separately. Google/YouTube’s production guide says streams longer than 12 hours should be recorded by the team for manual upload when an archive is needed. - The broadcast is already live: Inspect the active broadcast’s Edit/details controls. Available fields are not guaranteed to be identical to those for a scheduled stream.

- You are considering resetting the stream key: Do not reset it for a title or thumbnail change. The key is for encoder ingest; metadata is edited in stream settings.
