In iOS 27, use Photos > Edit > Tools > Reframe to adjust the apparent camera angle of an existing photo. Drag the image to shift its perspective; use two fingers to pan, zoom, or rotate. Reframe can generate image content in areas exposed by the change, so it does not recreate a viewpoint the camera actually recorded.
Change a photo’s perspective with Reframe

Open Photos and choose the image you want to edit.

Tap Edit, then tap Tools and choose Reframe.

Touch and drag the image to adjust its perspective. Use two fingers to pan, zoom, or rotate the image.

Tap Done, then tap Done again to close the photo.
Apple describes this capability as Spatial Reframing: it changes the apparent point of capture after the photo is taken. When shifting the perspective leaves gaps around the image, Apple’s models can generate content in those areas to complete the frame. The result is an AI-assisted edit, not a literal optical camera move. Apple’s September 14, 2026 announcement describes the feature as a way to improve a photo’s composition after capture.

Undo a saved Reframe adjustment
To remove the Reframe edit later, open the photo and go to Edit > Tools > Reframe, then tap Reset. Apple documents the Reframe, comparison, and reset controls in its iPhone Photos editing guide.
Check whether your iPhone can use Reframe
Reframe is an Apple Intelligence feature, so having iOS 27 alone does not guarantee access. Apple lists iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 models or later as supported iPhones for Apple Intelligence. Availability also depends on language and region, and usage limits may apply. Apple says limits for server-dependent features can vary with the feature, request complexity, system demand, and policy.

If Reframe is missing from Tools, check your iPhone model, software, region, and device language against Apple’s current support guidance. The supported Siri and device languages listed in that guide are Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Some features, devices, or regions may have narrower availability.

Both are separate options in Photos’ Tools menu; choose Reframe when you want to shift the perspective rather than simply expand the frame. Apple demonstrated Reframe working with older library photos and photos taken with other cameras, though that is not a guarantee of an ideal result for every file. Apple’s WWDC26 keynote shows the adjustment and generated fill around shifted edges.
