What “incoming call screen” means on iPhone
The phrase can refer to two different things: the image and name presentation other people see when you call, or the interface shown on your own iPhone when you receive a call. Apple’s iPhone guide documents personalization for the first—the Call Poster—not a setting for choosing a different incoming-call screen theme.

How to set up your Call Poster
- Open the Contacts app.
- Tap your name at the top of the contacts list.
- Tap Shared Name and Photo.
- Choose a photo, Memoji, or emoji, then customize the font and colors.
These menu labels follow Apple’s English-language guide; wording may differ by iOS version or language. Apple’s personalization page surfaced as the iOS 27 guide, and feature availability can change with software updates. The steps here are based on Apple’s guide and have not been independently tested on a device.

What you can do when a call comes in
Apple’s incoming-call guide explains how to answer, silence, or decline a call and respond with a text. It also refers to interacting with the call banner. It does not give a procedure for choosing an alternate incoming-call theme, so it supports call-handling instructions rather than a claim that every visual layout option is unavailable in every iOS release.
Keep the two features separate
- Call Poster: personalizes what the person you call sees.
- Incoming-call interface: the screen or banner you see when someone calls; Apple’s cited guidance explains call actions, not selecting a different theme.
