Change your Samsung account’s country or region on Samsung’s account website in a web browser: open Profile → Edit personal information → Country or region, choose the destination, and confirm after reading Samsung’s notice. A ZIP or postal code is a separate detail: Samsung’s country-change directions do not establish a universal way to edit it.
Change your Samsung account country or region
Samsung’s current instructions use the account website in a browser. You can do this on a phone, tablet, or computer; Samsung does not describe this workflow as a setting in the Samsung account app. Labels may vary by locale.

- In a web browser, open the Samsung account website and sign in.
- Select Profile.
- Scroll to Edit personal information.
- Select Country or region.
- Choose the destination country and select Change.
- Read the confirmation information, select the acknowledgement checkbox, and confirm by selecting Change.
Samsung says the account’s country determines which services and features are available on a device. Check the notice shown for your account before confirming, since effects and service availability can vary by region. See Samsung Canada’s country-change instructions.

Country changes have a 180-day waiting period
Samsung’s 2026 guidance says you must wait 180 days after changing your account country before changing it again or reverting to the original country. This can affect access to country-specific services and purchase history, so make sure the destination is correct before you confirm.

What may change after you switch countries
- Device sign-ins: Connected devices may be signed out, requiring you to sign in again on each one.
- Services and features: Some may no longer be available in the destination country. Samsung specifically names SmartThings as a service that may be affected.
- Purchase history: The account displays purchases made in the country currently selected. Viewing purchases associated with another country may require changing back, subject to the 180-day waiting period.
There is an additional regional qualification for SmartThings: Samsung Australia’s published terms say that changing the registered account country withdraws the account from SmartThings and deletes data on the SmartThings server. That is language in Samsung Australia’s terms; do not assume it describes the outcome in every region. Read the confirmation notice and applicable local terms if you rely on SmartThings. Country or region is not the same as ZIP or postal code
Samsung’s country-change instructions cover the Country or region profile field; they do not say that changing it also updates a ZIP or postal code, or provide one universal postal-code procedure. Treat the postal code as a separate account detail. If your profile offers a postal-code field, edit it there according to the options shown for your locale. If it does not, consult your local Samsung Support rather than assuming the country-change workflow will update it.

When the country-change option is unavailable
Samsung lists several cases that may prevent use of the standard change flow. These include family-group and child accounts, accounts whose holder is below the destination country’s minimum age, accounts using only a phone number as the account ID, and certain Mainland China account-and-country combinations. European accounts may also face temporary restrictions related to local privacy processes. Galaxy Store seller accounts must request a country change through the customer center instead of using the ordinary flow.

If the setting is missing or the change fails, contact Samsung Support for your region. Samsung recommends support for these cases; that does not guarantee an exception to an eligibility restriction.
