Choose Language, select one of the options shown, then return to the previous screen and choose Voice style.
The list is device-specific. Galaxy model, operating-system version, Bixby version, country or region, and the selected language can all change which languages and voice styles appear. If a menu label is missing, open Bixby and ask it to open Bixby Settings, or search the Settings app for “Bixby.”

What you can change
Bixby has two separate controls under Language and voice style:

- Language controls the language Bixby uses to understand supported commands and respond.
- Voice style controls the available speaking voice for the selected language.
Changing the language does not automatically guarantee that every voice style will remain available. Voice choices are filtered by the language, Bixby version, device, software version, and location. Your phone or tablet shows the choices that Samsung supports for that particular setup; an option that appears in a guide or on another Galaxy device may not appear on yours.

Before you start
Use a supported Galaxy device and current menus
The wording and location of Bixby controls can differ between Galaxy models and operating-system versions. Samsung also notes that available settings and language options can vary by Bixby version, country or region, language, model, and operating-system version.
Know which control you need
If Bixby understands you but speaks with the wrong pronunciation or accent, start with Voice style. If it recognizes or replies in the wrong language, change Language first. Both controls are in the same screen, so you can adjust them in one visit.
Keep an alternate route available
If your Settings app does not show the expected wording, open Bixby by pressing and holding the Side button (or the dedicated Bixby button on models that have one), or open the Bixby app. You can then ask Bixby to open Bixby Settings. You can also use the search field in Settings and search for Bixby.
Change Bixby’s language
- Open Settings.
- Tap Advanced features.
- Tap Bixby.
- Tap Language and voice style.
- Tap Language.
- Choose a language from the list displayed on your device.
The list is the authoritative answer for your device: it contains the languages that this Bixby installation can use. Samsung’s support documentation for the United States and Canada uses this route, but the exact list and menu wording can differ elsewhere.

If the selection does not seem to take effect
Return to Language and voice style and confirm that the new language is shown as selected. Then issue a short, unambiguous request to Bixby in that language. If Bixby still responds in the former language, close and reopen Bixby and check the selection again. Do not assume that a language seen on another phone is supported on yours; availability is tied to the device and Bixby version.
Change Bixby’s voice style
- Open Settings.
- Go to Advanced features → Bixby → Language and voice style.
- Tap Voice style.
- Select one of the built-in styles shown for your current language.
Some Galaxy devices also show a downloadable voice or an option to create a custom voice. These features are conditional: the relevant capability must be supported on your model, software, region, and Bixby version. If a download or creation option is offered, follow the on-screen instructions and the Galaxy Store download or update flow. A device that lacks the feature will not show the same controls.
Choose language before judging voice choices
Voice styles are associated with the selected Bixby language. If you change language and then see a different set of voices, that is expected rather than a fault. Select the language you intend to use, reopen Voice style, and choose from the styles displayed for that language.

Open Bixby Settings by voice
Launch Bixby by pressing and holding the Side/Bixby button or by opening the Bixby app. Ask Bixby to open Bixby Settings. This route can reach the correct settings page when a software update has moved the entry or given it a different label.

Search the Settings app
Open Settings, tap the search icon or search field, and enter Bixby. Open the Bixby result, then look for Language and voice style. Search is useful when your model groups Bixby under a different section than Advanced features.
Check that you are using Bixby, not another assistant
Galaxy phones can expose several voice-assistant controls. The procedure in this guide applies to Bixby’s own settings. If a button opens a different assistant, open the Bixby app directly and use its settings route instead.
Why a language or voice is not listed
An absent option is normally an availability limitation, not a setting you can reveal with a hidden switch. Samsung identifies these variables as relevant:

There is no single universal Bixby language list that applies to every Galaxy device. The list in Language and voice style is the reliable availability check for your phone or tablet.

Using a custom Bixby voice
Some devices can download or create a custom Bixby voice. Samsung does not make this capability universal, so the absence of a custom-voice control does not indicate that your installation is broken.
When the feature appears
If your device supports it, the custom-voice or download control appears alongside the available voice styles. Select it and follow the prompts. A Galaxy Store download or update may be required before the voice becomes selectable.
When the feature does not appear
Do not install an unrelated voice package or change random system language settings to force it. Check for an offered Bixby or Galaxy Store update, then return to Language and voice style. If the option remains absent, your model, region, language, Bixby version, or operating-system version may not support it.
Using Bixby through Galaxy Buds
Supported Galaxy Buds models can use Bixby on the connected phone through voice controls in the Galaxy Wearable app. This is an interaction route, not a separate Bixby language database: the phone’s Bixby language and voice-style settings still determine the assistant’s behavior.

What you need
- A Galaxy Buds model that supports Bixby voice-assistant controls.
- The Buds connected to the Galaxy phone running Bixby.
- The relevant voice controls configured in Galaxy Wearable.
How to verify the change with Buds
- Change the language or voice style on the connected phone using the Settings path above.
- Open Galaxy Wearable and confirm that the supported Bixby voice control is configured for your Buds.
- Use the Buds control to issue a short Bixby request.
- Confirm that the response uses the selected language and voice style.
Buds support is explicitly limited by model. If the Bixby control is not offered in Galaxy Wearable, the earbuds may not support that function even though Bixby works on the phone speaker and microphone.

Troubleshoot the wrong language or voice
Bixby speaks the old language
- Open Settings → Advanced features → Bixby → Language and voice style.
- Tap Language and verify the intended choice is selected.
- Return to the previous screen and check Voice style; the available styles may have changed with the language.
- Close and reopen Bixby, then test with a short request in the selected language.
If the language is not present in the list, the device does not currently offer it through that Bixby configuration. Samsung attributes such differences to Bixby version, location, language, Galaxy model, and operating-system version.
The voice sounds different from another Galaxy device
Voice-style availability is not uniform across devices. Compare only the styles shown on your own device after selecting the same language. A voice available on a different model, in a different country, or with a different Bixby version may not be downloadable on yours.

The Bixby menu moved after an update
Use the Settings search for Bixby, or launch Bixby and ask it to open Bixby Settings. Samsung’s documented route may use different labels on another model or software release, while the search and voice routes can still locate the controls.
A custom voice cannot be downloaded
Confirm that the custom-voice or download option actually appears in Voice style. If it does, complete the Galaxy Store download or update flow and try again. If it does not appear, the feature is not guaranteed for your device or region; changing the ordinary language setting cannot add it.
Bixby works on the phone but not through Buds
Check the Buds model and the Galaxy Wearable configuration. Bixby voice controls are limited to supported Galaxy Buds models. The phone’s Bixby settings can be correct while a particular pair of earbuds still lacks the required control.
A practical verification checklist
- Open the exact Language and voice style page, not a general keyboard or system-language page.
- Set Language first.
- Review Voice style after the language change.
- Test Bixby with a short spoken request.
- If a choice is absent, treat the displayed list as the supported list for that device and version.
- For custom voices, look for the specific download or creation control and complete any Galaxy Store step.
- For Buds, verify both model support and Galaxy Wearable voice-control setup.
