Check the model label on the back, then follow that model’s manual rather than assuming another LG monitor’s instructions apply.
For example, an LG 34UM64-P manual describes joystick volume controls, while the 34UB67-B manual shows audio routing choices in its on-screen display (OSD). Those steps are examples, not universal instructions for every 34-inch LG monitor.

How do I change audio output and volume settings on an LG 34-inch monitor?
- Find the model number. Check the label on the rear of the monitor or its product documentation.
- Open the matching manual. LG support lists manuals by model, including the 34UM58-P.AUS, 34U530A-W.AUS and 34WP500-B.AUS. Menu names and controls can differ between models.
- Check the physical audio connections. Confirm which audio ports or speakers your particular monitor has before choosing an output route.
- Use the model’s OSD instructions. The manual should identify how to open the on-screen menu, adjust volume and, where supported, select an audio source or output.
How to adjust volume with a joystick: 34UM64-P example
The 34UM64-P manual describes a joystick button at the bottom of the monitor. Pressing it opens the main menu. With the main menu disabled, moving the joystick left or right adjusts volume. In the OSD, the manual lists Easy control > Volume; moving the joystick down in that menu toggles mute or unmute.

These controls are specific to the instructions in that manual. LG notes that the OSD may differ slightly from its illustrations, so use the manual for your exact model if the control or menu does not match.

How to select an audio output: 34UB67-B example
For the 34UB67-B, the manual describes opening the OSD, navigating to Sound and selecting a Sound Out option. The options listed in that manual are HDMI1, HDMI2, DP and Audio-In. They describe that model’s menu and should not be assumed to appear on other LG 34-inch monitors.
Choose only a route that matches both your source connection and the audio hardware connected to the monitor. Check the manual and ports to confirm what each option does on your model.

What audio hardware does your LG monitor support?
Audio features vary by model. LG’s specification for the 34CB99 lists built-in speakers and a headphone output, with speaker output specified as 7 W × 2. That is a 34CB99 specification, not a claim about the entire 34-inch range. Check your own monitor’s specifications for speakers, headphone output or other audio connections before troubleshooting an unavailable output.

If an audio option or volume control is missing
- Confirm the exact model number on the rear label or in the product documentation.
- Check that the current input connection is compatible with the route you want to use.
- Consult the model-specific manual for its OSD labels and supported audio choices; do not rely on another model’s menu sequence.
- Check the monitor’s documented audio ports and speaker capability before expecting it to play sound or pass audio to headphones or external equipment.
