To change an aircraft’s skin or emblem in ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE, enter ACE COMBAT ONLINE, go to the Air Base, select an aircraft, and use the visual customization options shown in the current game build. Bandai Namco confirms skins and emblems are available online, but its published instructions do not specify exact menu labels or button presses.
Change a skin or emblem in ACE COMBAT ONLINE
- Enter ACE COMBAT ONLINE. The publisher describes Online as a separate mode with its own progression and save data, rather than an extension of Campaign Mode.
- Reach the Air Base and open the aircraft area. Select the aircraft you want to customize and look for its visual customization options.
- Choose an available skin or emblem. Follow the on-screen labels and prompts in your current build to apply the choice. Weathering is another visual customization feature identified by Bandai Namco.
- Check unlocks if an item is unavailable. Look at the aircraft’s available options and your ACE PASS rewards or in-game progression; seasonal reward pools can change.
The publisher’s online overview confirms the customization features, but does not publish a complete menu-by-menu route or a controller and keyboard input sequence. The exact interface may therefore depend on the current build; use its displayed prompts rather than relying on unverified button instructions.

Skins and emblems are visual options, not aircraft upgrades
Bandai Namco distinguishes appearance customization—skins, emblems and weathering—from aircraft progression and upgrade parts. Online aircraft levels improve parameters and can unlock aircraft-specific abilities; changing a skin or emblem is not described as an upgrade.

The free ACE PASS is a seasonal progression track available to all players, with cosmetic and aircraft-upgrade item rewards. It advances through XP earned by completing missions. Premium and Premium Plus provide additional reward tiers; Premium Plus includes a 30-level skip. A paid pass is not required to customize every aircraft: the Season One reward table included cosmetics on the free track.

These counts are for Season One, announced by Bandai Namco Entertainment America on October 1, 2026; they are not a guarantee of reward counts in later seasons. The publisher says each season lasts two months and its rewards change. It also says aircraft DLC included in a Premium ACE PASS will be available separately after the season ends; that statement does not establish that every skin or emblem will later be sold separately.
Online and Campaign Mode are separate
ACE COMBAT ONLINE has progression and save data separate from Campaign Mode. The official material confirms skins and emblems as Online customization features, but does not establish the exact procedure or item-sharing behavior for Campaign Mode. Check the mode and the options shown in-game rather than assuming an Online unlock or interface carries over.
