Use Power Automate for desktop’s browser screenshot action, not a series of manual screen grabs. Launch or attach to the page, scroll with either a web-element focus or JavaScript, then run Take screenshot of web page and choose Entire web page or Specific element. For pages that load content while scrolling, verify the result because a single capture reflects what the browser has rendered at that moment.
What you need before building the flow
- Power Automate for desktop with a supported browser: Microsoft lists Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer for browser automation. Availability of individual interaction methods depends on your current setup.
- A browser instance created with Launch new browser or attached where supported.
- A web UI element for browser actions. Web UI elements are different from desktop UI elements used by workstation actions.
- A destination path with permission to create the image (or the clipboard option).
The browser and flow must run under the same system user. A flow cannot attach to a browser opened by a different user. Physical interaction can also require the browser to remain unminimized with the target tab focused.
Recommended flow: scroll, then capture

Launch or attach to the browser
Add a browser action and navigate to the page. Keep the resulting browser instance variable; later browser actions must use that instance.

Choose how to scroll
Use Focus text field on web page with a captured web element when the page has a reliable target near the content you need. Despite its name, Microsoft’s scrolling guidance says the action can bring any targeted element into view. It is useful for a “Load more” control because reaching the control may trigger additional content.

For a coordinate or bottom-of-page position, use Execute JavaScript function on web page. Microsoft’s documented bottom example is:
window.scrollTo(0, document.body.scrollHeight)For a fixed position, replace the second value with a pixel coordinate, for example
window.scrollTo(0, 1800). -
Allow rendering and lazy loading
Insert a short delay or wait for a meaningful web element after scrolling. A page may add images, rows or cards only after they enter the viewport. Waiting for a selector is more reliable than guessing a delay when the page exposes a stable element.

- Specific element when only a particular article, panel or component is needed.
Choose saving to a file or to the clipboard, then set the output path and available image format. Open the resulting file in a separate step or log its path so a failed capture does not go unnoticed.

Scrolling to a known element
Element-focused scrolling is preferable when the page layout changes between runs. Capture the target with the browser’s web-element picker, then pass that element to Focus text field on web page. The browser moves the element into view; the following screenshot captures the current page state.
This method can also support incremental pages. Focus the “Load more” element, wait for newly inserted content, and repeat until the desired boundary is reached. Add a loop limit so a page that never removes or changes the control cannot run forever.
Scrolling with JavaScript
JavaScript is useful when you know the position or need the bottom of the document. In Execute JavaScript function on web page, select the same browser instance and provide the scroll command. A bottom-of-document command is:
window.scrollTo(0, document.body.scrollHeight)Some pages do not scroll the window. They place content in an inner panel with its own scrollbar. In that case, identify the panel and change its scrollTop instead of calling window.scrollTo:

if (panel) panel.scrollTop = panel.scrollHeight;Replace .results-panel with the actual selector. If the selector is absent, have the flow fail clearly rather than silently taking a screenshot of the wrong area.

Capturing a long page in sections
A single “Entire web page” capture is not a promise that every dynamic site will be stitched into one uninterrupted image. Infinite feeds, sticky navigation, virtualized lists and content that changes during scrolling can defeat a full-page result. For reproducibility, scroll to known positions, wait for content, capture the relevant element or viewport, and record the sequence. This produces several verifiable files instead of one image whose missing sections are hard to diagnose.
Webpage screenshot versus desktop screenshot
Use Take screenshot of web page when the target is HTML content in the browser. It can capture the entire page or a selected web element and save to a file or clipboard.

Handling modern page behavior
Lazy-loaded images
Scroll far enough to trigger image loading, then wait for an image or content marker before capturing. Check the output for empty placeholders; a screenshot action cannot include pixels the page has not rendered.
Sticky headers and overlays
A fixed header can cover content after scrolling, while consent dialogs, newsletters and chat panels can obscure it. Close them through browser actions before capture, or capture the content element itself when possible.
Nested scroll panes
Inspect which element actually moves. If the scrollbar belongs to a panel, set that element’s scrollTop; page-level scrolling may leave the panel unchanged.

Changing content
News feeds, ads and live dashboards can change between the scroll and capture steps. Wait for a stable marker, disable unnecessary refresh behavior where your process allows it, and keep timestamps with generated files.
Reliability and performance checklist
- Use a stable element selector rather than a generated class name when possible.
- Wait for a selector or page condition after navigation and after each deliberate scroll.
- Keep the browser tab active when physical interaction is required; do not minimize it during those steps.
- Set an explicit output filename and verify that the file exists and has a non-zero size.
- For long pages, prefer a repeatable sequence of positions or element captures when one full-page result is incomplete.
- Use a loop counter for “load more” workflows and log the number of iterations.
- Expect larger images and slower runs as page length, image count and device scaling increase.
Common failures and fixes
The flow cannot find the browser
Cause: the browser belongs to another system user, the instance variable is wrong, or the required extension/WebDriver setup is missing. Fix: launch the browser in the same flow and user session, select the correct instance in every browser action, and review the setup requirements for the chosen interaction method.
JavaScript runs but nothing moves
Cause: the page scrolls an inner element rather than the window. Fix: select the actual scroll container and set its scrollTop; confirm that its scrollHeight exceeds its visible height.
The screenshot is blank or missing lower content
Cause: lazy loading has not completed, the page is still changing, or the action captured an element other than the intended one. Fix: wait for a content selector, inspect the captured element, and retry after the page reaches a stable state.
The target web element is not accepted
Cause: a desktop UI element was supplied to a browser action, or the element was captured from a different tab. Fix: recapture it as a web UI element in the active browser tab.

The image is of the desktop, not the page
Cause: the workstation screenshot action was used. Fix: replace it with the browser action Take screenshot of web page for HTML content.
Content appears twice or jumps between captures
Cause: an infinite or virtualized list reuses DOM nodes while scrolling. Fix: capture stable sections or a specific element after each load, and avoid assuming that document coordinates remain constant.

Can Power Automate capture only one HTML element?
Yes. In Take screenshot of web page, choose Specific element and provide the web UI element captured from the target tab.
Does a full-page capture always include content below the fold?
It captures the webpage state exposed by the browser action, but dynamic rendering, nested panes and lazy loading can leave content absent. Verify the file and use deliberate scroll-and-capture steps when completeness matters.
