On desktop, Microsoft Edge has Capture full page, Firefox has Save full page, and Chrome offers Capture a full size screenshot in DevTools. On iPhone, choose Full Page after taking a screenshot of supported content; on Android 12 and later, choose Capture more after the normal screenshot. These commands create one long capture, not a set of separately paginated document pages.
First decide what “more than one page” means
People use this phrase for two different jobs:
- A single long webpage or scrollable app screen: use a full-page or scrolling screenshot. The result is usually one tall image that includes content below the viewport.
- Several independent PDF or document pages: a browser screenshot tool is not automatically a page-combining editor. Export the document as a PDF, or use an editor that can place pages into one image or contact sheet, depending on the output you need.
The procedures below cover a webpage or scrollable screen. A tall image and a paginated PDF are different deliverables, so confirm the required format before you capture.
Capture an entire webpage on a desktop
Microsoft Edge: Capture full page
- Open the webpage in Edge and wait for the content you need to appear.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S, or open Edge’s Screenshot tool from the browser menu.
- Select Capture full page. Edge captures content below the visible area, including a long or moving webpage.
- Use the available markup, copy, or save controls to finish the capture.
This is the quickest built-in route when you want the whole webpage without opening developer tools. If the page loads sections only after scrolling, allow those sections to load before saving and inspect the result for missing content.
Firefox: Save full page
- Open the target page in Firefox.
- Open Firefox’s screenshot tool from the page context menu or the toolbar.
- Choose Save full page.
- Save the resulting image or copy it using the controls shown by Firefox.
Firefox also offers a visible-area capture. Choose the full-page command when the target extends below the window; the two modes are not interchangeable.

- CRISP CLARITY: This 23.8″ Philips V line monitor delivers crisp Full HD 1920x1080 visuals. Enjoy movies, shows and videos with remarkable detail
- INCREDIBLE CONTRAST: The VA panel produces brighter whites and deeper blacks. You get true-to-life images and more gradients with 16.7 million colors
- THE PERFECT VIEW: The 178/178 degree extra wide viewing angle prevents the shifting of colors when viewed from an offset angle, so you always get consistent colors
- WORK SEAMLESSLY: This sleek monitor is virtually bezel-free on three sides, so the screen looks even bigger for the viewer. This minimalistic design also allows for seamless multi-monitor setups that enhance your workflow and boost productivity
- A BETTER READING EXPERIENCE: For busy office workers, EasyRead mode provides a more paper-like experience for when viewing lengthy documents
Chrome: Capture a full size screenshot through DevTools
- Open the webpage in Chrome.
- Open DevTools with F12, Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows/Linux, or Cmd+Option+I on macOS.
- If necessary, turn on device mode with the phone/tablet icon so the device controls are visible.
- Open DevTools’ More options menu and choose Capture a full size screenshot.
- Find the downloaded image in Chrome’s normal download location.
Chrome’s command captures the page beyond the viewport, but it takes more navigation than Edge or Firefox. Device mode is useful when you need a particular viewport width; it can also change responsive layouts, so check that the emulated width matches your intended output.
Take a scrolling screenshot on a phone
iPhone: use Full Page where it is supported
- Open the content, such as a webpage in Safari.
- Take a normal screenshot using your iPhone’s hardware buttons.
- Tap the screenshot preview before it disappears.
- Choose Full Page, then crop if needed and save or share.
The Full Page tab is shown for supported content that extends beyond the screen. Apple documents Safari webpages as an example, but not every app supplies a full-page capture source. If the tab is absent, use the app’s own export or print feature, or capture several ordinary screenshots.
Android 12 and newer: Capture more
- Open the scrollable screen.
- Press Power + Volume Down to take a screenshot.
- Tap Capture more below the screenshot preview.
- Move the crop guides to include the length you need, then save or share.
Google documents this workflow for Android 12 and later on most screens that allow scrolling. Phone manufacturers and individual apps can change the controls or disable the feature. When Capture more does not appear, the screen may not expose a scrollable capture surface, or the phone’s software may use different labels.

Choose the right output
| Goal | Best route | What you receive | Important limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| One long webpage on a desktop | Edge Capture full page, Firefox Save full page, or Chrome DevTools Capture a full size screenshot | Usually one tall image | Menus and behavior differ by browser |
| Supported webpage on iPhone | Screenshot preview → Full Page | Full-page document-style capture that can be cropped, saved, or shared | Only supported content shows the Full Page option |
| Scrollable Android screen | Screenshot → Capture more | Extended scrolling image | Android 12+ and app/device support are required |
| Several independent document pages | PDF export or a document/image editor | Paginated PDF or a deliberately assembled composite | A webpage screenshot tool does not automatically combine unrelated pages |
For sharing, a very tall image can be awkward to view and print. A PDF with page breaks is usually better for a report, while a single image is useful for visual review, bug reports, or archiving a webpage layout.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsMake the capture complete and readable
- Wait for late-loading content. Give the page time to render charts, fonts, and images before invoking full-page capture.
- Check responsive width. A narrow viewport can trigger a mobile layout; a wide viewport can expose a desktop navigation bar. Use the width that matches your purpose.
- Watch sticky elements. Fixed headers, cookie notices, and chat buttons may repeat or cover content in a stitched image. Dismiss them when the page allows it.
- Inspect lazy images. Scroll through the source page first if important images appear only after they enter the viewport.
- Review the saved file. Check the top, bottom, and joins for clipped text, blank bands, missing images, or duplicated fixed controls.
- Protect sensitive data. Full-page captures can include account details, tokens displayed in the UI, or content far below the fold. Crop or redact before sharing.
If the built-in capture fails
The option is missing
Confirm that you are using the browser’s webpage capture tool rather than the operating system’s ordinary screenshot shortcut. On Android, verify that the device is running Android 12 or later and that the screen can scroll. On iPhone, the Full Page tab appears only for supported content.
The bottom of the page is blank
The page may require scrolling to trigger lazy loading, or it may stop rendering when it is hidden. Scroll through the page once, wait for images and embedded content, then run the full-page command again. If the site requires a login, keep the authenticated tab open and avoid capturing private information unintentionally.

Content is duplicated or cut off
Sticky navigation and animated components can confuse stitching. Close overlays, pause animations where possible, and try a normal browser zoom level. For a critical record, export the source page to PDF or use an automated capture that waits for a stable selector instead of stitching a moving screen.
The image is too large to share
Crop irrelevant areas, resize a copy, or export a paginated PDF. Keep the original capture separately if you may need to prove what was visible at capture time.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. One request can capture a full webpage as PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF, so you do not need to operate a browser window for each URL. It removes cookie and consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before the capture. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing; the response identifies the result with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers.
The API supports full-page capture with lazy images loaded, a CSS-selector element capture, dark mode, 12 device presets plus custom viewports, retina scale, PDF paper size/margins/landscape/page ranges, HTML/CSS-to-image, custom CSS and JavaScript, clicking before capture, hidden selectors, waits for a selector, delay, or network idle, and blocking ads, trackers, requests, or resource types. You can also send custom headers, cookies, a user agent, and Authorization; set timezone and geolocation; use a transparent background; resize images; cache with a chosen TTL; create signed links for public <img> tags; submit asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks; capture up to 100 URLs per bulk call; read usage through an API; and use the OpenAPI specification. Parameter names used by other screenshot APIs are accepted to ease migration.
An MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. Every plan includes every feature. The Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. Yearly billing gives two months free.

Reliability, privacy, and cost decisions
- One-off personal capture: use the browser or phone feature; it requires no service account.
- Repeatable documentation or monitoring: an API gives you a URL, parameters, and a saved response that can be run from code or an MCP client.
- Unstable pages: use waits, selector targeting, resource blocking, and verdict headers so a failed or blocked page is distinguishable from a valid capture.
- Cost control: browser captures have no API charge, while ScreenshotNeo bills only clean shots; cache hits and the listed failed outcomes are not billed. Choose a plan based on monthly volume rather than starting multiple browser workers.
- Privacy: review cookies, Authorization headers, geolocation, and signed links before sending private pages to any remote service.
Quick checklist
- Confirm whether you need one tall image or several document pages.
- Choose the browser/device workflow that matches the source.
- Dismiss overlays and wait for lazy content.
- Capture the full page or scrolling range.
- Inspect the saved result for missing, repeated, or sensitive content.
- Use a PDF export or ScreenshotNeo when you need a repeatable, automatable result.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I capture an entire webpage without installing an extension?
Yes. Edge, Firefox, and Chrome DevTools provide built-in full-page webpage commands, and supported iPhone and Android devices provide scrolling capture controls.
Why did my phone save only the visible screen?
The app may not expose a scrollable capture surface, or the device/software may not support its extended-capture control. Android’s documented workflow requires Android 12 or later; iPhone shows Full Page only for supported content.
Is a full-page screenshot the same as a multi-page PDF?
No. A full-page screenshot is generally one long image. A PDF or document editor can preserve separate pages and page breaks.
