Take a normal screenshot, tap Scroll in the preview, stop at the endpoint you need, tap DONE, and then tap the ✓ save control. The method works for many web pages, messages, and documents, but the button can vary by app, model, and software build.
How do I take a full-page screenshot on a Xiaomi phone?
Use Xiaomi’s built-in scrolling screenshot workflow:
- Open the web page, message, document, or other content you want to capture.
- Take a regular screenshot. You can use Control Center, the hardware-button shortcut, or an enabled three-finger gesture.
- Tap Scroll on the screenshot preview.
- Allow the phone to move down the page automatically, or adjust the capture endpoint manually.
- When the screenshot reaches the content you want, tap DONE.
- Tap the ✓ save control.
Xiaomi describes this as a way to save more content “in one long screenshot.” The resulting file is an image, not a separate web page or editable document.
Three ways to start the normal screenshot
Control Center
Swipe down from the upper-right corner to open Control Center and tap Screenshot. On the preview that appears, choose Scroll. Xiaomi documents this route on devices including the REDMI Note 14 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, although labels and panel layouts can differ between builds.

Volume Down plus Power
Press Volume down + Power at the same time. This shortcut is listed in Xiaomi’s screenshot options, but it may be disabled, remapped, or unavailable on a particular model. Release both buttons promptly so the phone does not open the power menu or change the volume instead.
Three-finger swipe
If the gesture is enabled, slide three fingers downward on the screen. To check it, open Settings > Additional settings > Gesture shortcuts > Take a screenshot and enable the three-finger option. Then use the screenshot preview’s Scroll control.
How the Scroll control works
Start from the top of the content
Open the page or document at the point where the capture should begin before taking the screenshot. The scrolling tool extends the screenshot from that starting viewport; it does not reconstruct content that was never loaded or that sits above the starting position.
Choose an endpoint
After you tap Scroll, the phone advances through the page. Let it continue until the desired section is included, then stop it and tap DONE. For a very long article, stopping at a logical heading usually produces a more useful file than capturing the entire page.

Save and find the image
Tap ✓ after DONE to commit the file. The image normally appears with other screenshots in Gallery, but Gallery Editor permissions can affect whether a scrolling screenshot is visible or saved. If the preview disappears without a file, check Gallery’s permissions and the destination folders it is allowed to access.

Why is the Scroll button missing or greyed out?
A missing or disabled Scroll button does not necessarily mean your phone is broken. Xiaomi documents the feature, but does not promise that every app, model, or software build exposes it. The control can also be unavailable when there is no additional vertical content below the current viewport.
- No content below: A page that fits on one screen, or a view already at its bottom, has nothing to extend.
- App-dependent behavior: Some apps block scrolling capture, use a custom surface, or expose only a normal screenshot.
- Model or build differences: MIUI and HyperOS releases can place the control differently or omit it on particular devices.
- Wrong capture entry point: Try taking the screenshot through Control Center or the hardware shortcut rather than an app’s own screenshot command.
Test the same workflow on a long web page in the system browser. If Scroll appears there but not in one specific app, the app is the likely limitation. If it never appears, check for system updates and confirm that the screenshot gestures are enabled.
Fix gaps, duplicated sections, or a screenshot that stops early
Scroll at a moderate pace
Xiaomi guidance warns that moving too quickly can capture the screen before new content finishes loading. Slow the scrolling operation and wait for images, text, or embedded sections to render before continuing. This is especially important on pages with lazy-loaded images.

Close floating chat heads, avoid switching apps during capture, and keep the page at a consistent zoom level. Dynamic feeds can change while the phone is stitching frames, which may produce repeated or missing content. For a document or message, wait until the section is fully loaded before starting.
Capture in smaller sections when necessary
There is no universal maximum length stated for Xiaomi’s scrolling screenshot feature. Extremely long pages, memory pressure, animated content, and app-specific limits can cause an early stop or stitching artifacts. Capture separate sections and combine them later when one file becomes unreliable.

- Selectable text: Export the source document or save the page instead of relying on an image.
- Repeatable web captures: A browser automation or screenshot API can use the same viewport, wait conditions, and URL repeatedly.
- PDF output: Use a PDF export when page ranges, margins, paper size, or landscape orientation matter.

The screenshot preview never appears
- Try Control Center instead of a gesture or button shortcut.
- Press Volume down and Power together, not sequentially.
- Check Settings > Additional settings > Gesture shortcuts > Take a screenshot if you use three fingers.
Scroll is visible but capture does not advance
- Confirm that more content exists below the current viewport.
- Wait for the page to finish loading, then tap Scroll again.
- Try a standard web page to determine whether the original app blocks scrolling capture.
The saved image is missing from Gallery
- Tap DONE, then tap the ✓ save control; leaving the preview can discard the result.
- Review Gallery Editor permissions for the folders where screenshots are stored.
- Restart Gallery and check its screenshots album after permissions are corrected.
The result contains gaps or repeated content
- Use slower, steadier scrolling so content has time to load.
- Disable or close overlays that move while the page is captured.
- Split exceptionally long pages into multiple screenshots.
