For a logged-in account page, first ask whether a screenshot is necessary: a full-page image may capture sensitive details below the visible area. If you must capture one, use a trusted personal device and network, keep account and card details out of the image, and reach the bank through its independently verified website address.
Before you capture: decide what needs to be in the image
If a public webpage, help article, or blank demonstration page will do, use that instead of a logged-in account page. This is a data-minimization precaution based on banks’ warnings to protect financial information, not a claim about a particular bank’s screenshot policy.

Do not save an image that reveals account numbers, login credentials, card numbers, CVV, PIN, OTP, or other private financial information. A full-page capture can include content farther down the page than you can see at once, so inspect the entire image before keeping or sharing it.
Prepare a safer banking session
- Open the bank’s known official address yourself. Type it or use a trusted bookmark rather than following a link in an unexpected email, SMS, or popup. Check the domain carefully: HTTPS is useful, but it does not prove that a lookalike domain belongs to the bank. Indian Bank’s security guidance and the Ministry of Home Affairs’ cyber-safety guidance advise caution with banking information and online links.
- Use a trusted device and network. Prefer your personal computer or other trusted device, keep its browser updated, and avoid public computers and public or open Wi-Fi for banking. See Bank of India’s safe-banking guidance and Indian Bank’s cyber-behaviour guidance.
- Check the page before capturing. Look for account identifiers or sensitive data in the visible area and consider what may appear farther down the page. If you cannot safely exclude that information, do not capture the logged-in page.
Capture a full page in Firefox

- Open the page you intend to capture in Firefox.
- Right-click the page and select Take Screenshot. You can also press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on Mac.
- Choose Save full page to capture the page beyond the visible viewport.
- Review the resulting image for private data before saving or sharing it. Firefox also offers options to save or copy the image.
Other browser and managed-device considerations
Chrome
Google’s Chrome Help Community has described a DevTools command-menu route labeled “Capture full size screenshot,” but the page warns that community content may be unverified or outdated. Treat it as a lead, not authoritative current instructions: Chrome Help Community discussion.
Work-managed browsers
An organization’s Chrome policy can restrict screenshots. Google documents screenshot-prevention policies for managed users and browsers with Chrome Enterprise Premium; on a work-managed profile, a blocked capture may be an organization setting rather than a browser defect. Check with your IT administrator instead of trying to bypass the restriction: Set Chrome policies for users or browsers.

After capturing
- Inspect the saved image from top to bottom, including content that was below the initial viewport.
- If it contains private information, do not share it. Delete it if you do not have a specific need to retain it; if retention is necessary, keep it somewhere others cannot access.
- Log out of the bank and close the browser when finished, as advised by Indian Bank.
Troubleshooting and limits
- “Take Screenshot” is not visible: Try Firefox’s documented keyboard shortcut. If the interface still differs, consult Mozilla’s current help page because labels and controls can change with browser versions.
- The capture is blocked on a managed device: The browser may be subject to an organization policy. Ask the administrator whether screenshots are restricted; do not circumvent workplace controls.
- The image includes sensitive content lower down: Do not share or retain that image. Full-page capture includes more than the current viewport; choose a public or blank page instead if that can meet your need.
- A portal’s behavior is uncertain: No bank-by-bank testing establishes whether individual Indian bank portals permit full-page captures after login, how dynamic or scroll-loaded account information will appear, or what local copies the device retains. Do not assume a particular portal will behave safely or consistently.
