fullPage.js builds fullscreen, section-based scrolling websites; it does not take screenshots. To capture one, use a browser’s full-page screenshot feature or a scrolling-and-stitching extension, then check the result carefully: section snapping, horizontal slides and nested scroll areas can leave content out of an image that looks like one ordinary tall page.
What fullPage.js changes about a full-page capture
The fullPage.js documentation describes it as a library for fullscreen scrolling sites, with sections and optional landscape sliders. The documentation displayed version 4.0.41 when checked on October 3, 2026; that is a version identifier, not a guarantee that every site uses that release. See the fullPage.js documentation.

Unlike a conventional long document, a fullPage.js page may fit sections to the viewport and move between them through automatic scrolling. A section may also contain horizontal slides or content that scrolls inside the section. A capture tool that simply measures document height may not represent every screen or state a visitor can reach.

- Sections: Review every vertical section, not just the first viewport.
- Slides: If a section has horizontal slides, check each slide separately; a single vertical capture may not include them all.
- Oversized section content: With
scrollOverflow, content taller than the available section height can scroll within that section. - Nested scrolling: Elements such as modals or overflowing text can use their own scroll area. The
normalScrollElementsoption allows scrolling within specified nested elements without triggering section movement.

Choose a capture method

A Chrome Web Store listing for Full Page Screen Capture describes scrolling through a page, capturing successive screens and stitching them; it lists PNG, JPEG and PDF export. Capture and inspect the page
- Open the site and let it render. Wait for the page to finish loading. If images or other media load lazily, scroll through the relevant sections first and confirm the assets have appeared.
- Use the browser’s full-page screenshot option if available. In Firefox, follow Mozilla’s screenshot instructions and save the PNG. Browser menus and feature availability can change, so use the current browser documentation for the exact controls.
- Otherwise, use a compatible scrolling extension. Start the capture and wait for its scrolling and stitching process to finish. Confirm the extension supports your browser and the page type.
- Review the output from top to bottom. Check every vertical section and any horizontal slides. Inspect nested scroll content separately, and look for missing or repeated fixed headers, sticky elements, overlays and lazy-loaded media.
- Split the job if the result is truncated or too large. Use the capture tool’s supported split or export options, or capture sections and slides separately, then verify each piece.
Do not assume the initial viewport or a single stitched image proves the whole site was captured. The page’s interactive states may require separate captures.

Handling unusually large captures
Very tall images can run into browser or image-canvas size limits. Those limits depend on the browser and capture method, so a stated threshold from one extension is not a universal browser limit. FullPage Capture’s help page describes splitting very large images into parts when its stated Chrome canvas limits are exceeded; treat those thresholds as specific to that tool and subject to change. If a single image fails, is cut off, or becomes impractical to inspect, capture one section or slide at a time, or use the product’s supported split/export function. If you need a PDF rather than a long raster image, confirm that your chosen browser or extension currently supports PDF output.

Troubleshooting
- Only one section appears: The page may be using viewport-sized sections or automatic scrolling rather than ordinary document scrolling. Capture after navigating through each section, and verify the output section by section.
- A horizontal slide is missing: Navigate through the slides and capture them individually; do not treat a vertical page capture as proof that horizontal states are included.
- Long text or modal content is cut off: It may live in a nested scroll area. Scroll that area separately and capture its contents in one or more pieces.
- Images are blank or missing: Allow more time for rendering and lazy loading; visit the relevant sections before capture, then take a fresh screenshot.
- Headers or overlays appear more than once, or not at all: Inspect fixed and sticky elements in the final image. A scrolling-and-stitching method may capture successive viewports at different states; try a browser-native full-page feature or capture smaller sections.
- The image stops early or fails to export: Reduce the capture to sections or slides, or use the tool’s supported split option. Browser and canvas limits vary by tool and configuration.
- The browser refuses to capture a page: Some browser pages or restricted contexts cannot be captured. Try the method on the site’s normal browser tab, or use another compatible capture tool.
