Before you start: use the official, authorized results page
This title does not specify a university or portal, so there is no universal URL, selector, login sequence, or publication-state check to give. Get the correct URL from the institution and adapt the example selector to that page’s actual HTML. Follow the portal’s access terms; this workflow is for an authorized view, not for bypassing access controls.

How to capture the result with Selenium Python
Install Selenium with python -m pip install selenium. Selenium’s current Python API documentation is labelled 4.50.0. The example uses Selenium Manager through webdriver.Chrome(); your machine still needs a compatible Chrome browser. Replace both the URL and selector with the official portal’s URL and a locator for its result panel or heading.

Open the official results page in Chrome using WebDriver.

Wait for a meaningful result condition, preferably visibility of the result content you want in the image.

Save the current window as a PNG and check the method’s return value.

Always close the browser, including when navigation, waiting, or saving raises an error.

The selector, 30-second page-load limit, and 20-second explicit wait are examples, not requirements for every portal or network. Adjust them to the page and environment. Wait for results, not just navigation
A call to get() waits according to the configured page-load strategy and document readiness state. It does not promise that later JavaScript work, such as fetching or rendering exam results, has completed. Selenium’s waiting strategies explain the distinction and recommend explicit waits for a specified condition.
Choose an expected condition that reflects what a useful screenshot must show:

EC.visibility_of_element_located(locator)waits until a matching result element is displayed. This is usually a better fit than mere existence when the goal is visible content. -
EC.presence_of_element_located(locator)waits until an element exists in the DOM, but it may still be hidden or not yet useful to capture. -

These conditions are documented in Selenium’s Python expected-conditions API. Do not guess a selector from another university’s page; inspect the authorized page and choose its actual results element or a visible “results published” message.
Avoid combining implicit and explicit waits in the same script. Selenium warns that doing so can produce unpredictable total wait times. Use the explicit wait shown above for the page-specific state you need.
What the PNG includes: current window or full page?
save_screenshot() captures the current browser window. If a results table extends below the viewport, the screenshot may omit lower rows. Set a deliberate window size when layout and visible columns matter, and inspect the image for clipping. In headless Chrome, Selenium’s guide demonstrates headless operation, but it does not establish how a particular university portal behaves in headless mode; verify the actual output. For full-document capture, the current Python Firefox WebDriver API has separate methods, including save_full_page_screenshot() and get_full_page_screenshot_as_png(). That is a Firefox API capability, not a promise that the same method is available for every browser driver. See the Selenium Firefox WebDriver API. A full-page image can be very tall; check that text remains readable before relying on it.
Troubleshooting common capture problems

The image shows a spinner, blank panel, or loading state: navigation returned before the results UI finished rendering. Wait for a visible result element or portal-specific status message rather than adding an arbitrary sleep.

The explicit wait times out: confirm the official URL, inspect the page’s actual DOM and selector, and check whether results have been published and are available to your authorized session. The example selector is intentionally not university-specific.

The element exists but the screenshot does not show it: presence is not visibility. Use a visibility condition and make sure the chosen locator targets the displayed result, not a hidden template or duplicate element.

The image is cut off: the standard Python screenshot call captures the current window. Use an appropriate viewport for the needed visible area, or use Firefox’s documented full-page method if your deployment uses a supported Firefox driver.

Navigation hangs or fails: check that the official URL is reachable in the same environment and adjust
set_page_load_timeout()for your conditions. A page-load timeout concerns navigation; the separate explicit wait concerns the result state.Best Value

Headless output differs from what you expected: set a deliberate window size and inspect the saved file. Do not assume a particular portal renders identically in headless and visible sessions.
After capture, open university_results.png and verify that it shows the intended result rather than an error page, overlay, or clipped table.

Use WebDriverWait with an expected condition matching the result state you need, such as visibility of its panel or heading. Navigation readiness alone does not guarantee asynchronous results have rendered.
