To capture an entire webpage in Microsoft Edge, open the page, press Ctrl+Shift+S, and choose Capture full page. Edge saves content below the visible window without requiring you to scroll through the page. You can review the result, add markup, then copy or save it.
Capture a full webpage with Edge Screenshot
Edge calls its built-in tool Screenshot. Older Microsoft documentation may call the same feature Web Capture; Microsoft identifies Screenshot as the newer name. The full-page command captures the webpage’s scrollable content rather than only the portion currently visible.
Step 1: Open the page
- Start Microsoft Edge on your Windows computer or other supported installation.
- Navigate to the webpage you want to capture.
- Wait for the page to finish loading. If the site loads content only after scrolling, interacting, or signing in, make sure that content is present before starting the capture.
Step 2: Open Screenshot
Press Ctrl+Shift+S. This is Microsoft’s documented keyboard shortcut for Edge Screenshot.
If the shortcut does not work, open the webpage’s context menu by right-clicking on the page and look for Screenshot. You can also open Edge Settings and search for Screenshot to locate the command. Menu wording and placement can change between Edge releases, so the Settings search is useful when a toolbar button is not visible.
#1 Best Overall

Note: Video input supports 4K30/60Hz and 1080p120/144Hz. Does not support 4K120Hz/144Hz. Output supports up to 2K30Hz.
- 【Plug and Play】No driver or external power supply required, true PnP. Once plugged in, the device is identified automatically as a webcam. Detect input and adjust output automatically. Won't occupy CPU, optional audio capture. No freeze with correct setting.
- 【Compatible with Multiple Systems】suitable for Windows and Mac OS. High speed USB 3.0 technology and superior low latency technology makes it easier for you to transmit live streaming to Twitch, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, OBS, Potplayer and VLC.
- 【HDMI LOOP-OUT】Based on the high-speed USB 3.0 technology, it can capture one single channel HD HDMI video signal. There is no delay when you are playing game live.
- 【Support Mic-in for Commentary】Rybozen capture card has microphone input and you can use it to add external commentary when playing a game. Please note: it only accepts 3.5mm TRS standard microphone headset.
Step 3: Select Capture full page
In the Screenshot interface, choose Capture full page. Edge captures the page from top to bottom, including content outside the current viewport. Microsoft describes this as capturing everything at once, with no scrolling required.
Step 4: Review, annotate, and save
Review the resulting image. Edge provides markup tools, including pen or touch annotation, so you can add comments or highlight an area before copying or saving the capture. Use the available copy or save action in the Screenshot interface to send the image to another application or store it on disk.
What Edge can and cannot capture
Full page versus visible area
Capture full page is intended for the complete webpage, including material below the fold. A selected-area capture, by contrast, includes only the rectangle you draw. If you need just the current display, use a screen-capture utility instead of the full-page command.
Dynamic and protected content
A page may change while Edge is assembling the image. Animations, advertisements, lazy-loaded images, cookie dialogs, login walls, and bot checks can affect what appears. If a section is missing, first let the page settle, dismiss overlays that block content, and repeat the capture. Edge’s built-in command does not guarantee that every site-specific script or protected resource will render identically in a single image.

If Screenshot is missing or disabled
Check the managed-device policy
On a work or school computer, an administrator can control Edge Screenshot with the WebCaptureEnabled policy. Ask your administrator whether Screenshot/Web Capture is enabled for your profile. A missing command on a managed installation may be intentional rather than a keyboard problem.

- 【Package Content & Note】 1x HD Audio Capture Card , 1x USB 3.0 to USB C Adapter (A-side 3.0, B-side 2.0), 1x user manual. When using an adapter, if the device is recognized as USB 2.0, try using the other side with the USB-C port. Simply flip the capture card and reconnect it to be recognized as USB 3.0
Try the page context menu or Settings search
The command can be available even when its toolbar icon is not. Right-click the page, or open Edge Settings and search for Screenshot. Restart Edge after an update or policy change, then test the shortcut again.
Use DevTools for a technical full-size image
Edge DevTools has a device-mode command named Capture a full size screenshot. It is designed to include content outside the viewport.
- Open Developer Tools with F12 or the browser’s Developer Tools command.
- Enable device emulation if necessary.
- Open the DevTools command menu and run Capture a full size screenshot.
- Save the generated image when Edge prompts you.
This route is useful for developers who need device dimensions or a reproducible DevTools workflow, but it involves more steps than Edge Screenshot.
Fallbacks for other capture goals
Windows Snipping Tool
Windows Snipping Tool can capture the full screen and lets you edit, save, and share the result. It is a fallback for visible screen content, not a replacement for a complete webpage capture: it will not automatically include the part of a page below the current display.
Print or save a document
Use Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on macOS to open Edge’s print dialog. Printing is appropriate when the goal is a document, paper layout, or PDF. Microsoft’s print instructions do not define this as a full-page image workflow, so do not expect the print preview to produce the same result as Screenshot.

- HDR10 Support: Capture brilliant HDR content with tone mapping on Windows

OneNote Web Clipper
OneNote Web Clipper includes a Full Page option that saves the current page to a notebook as a screenshot image. It is an additional software path, but unnecessary when Edge Screenshot is available.
Troubleshooting full-page captures
The shortcut does nothing
- Confirm that the Edge window has focus and that you pressed Ctrl+Shift+S, not a system-level screen-capture shortcut.
- Try Screenshot from the right-click menu or Edge Settings search.
- Check whether the WebCaptureEnabled policy is disabling the feature on a managed device.
- Restart Edge after an update or policy change.
The capture contains only the visible viewport
Make sure you selected Capture full page, not a selected-area or visible-area option. If using DevTools, run Capture a full size screenshot rather than a normal viewport screenshot.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsImages or sections are blank
- Wait for lazy-loaded images and fonts to finish loading before starting.
- Scroll through the page once if the site loads content only when it enters view, then return to the top and capture again.
- Close cookie notices, chat widgets, or other overlays that obscure the page.
- Try an authenticated session if the missing material requires sign-in, while respecting the site’s access rules.
The page is extremely long
Very long pages can take longer to render and may contain repeated headers, sticky navigation, or animated sections. Allow the capture to finish before switching tabs. If the output is unwieldy, capture a meaningful section or use a PDF/document workflow instead.
The result includes private information
Review the image before sharing it. Full-page captures can include account names, order details, internal links, hidden navigation states, or content far below the fold. Redact sensitive material with an image editor before publication.

For automated jobs, CI pipelines, documentation builds, or repeated captures, ScreenshotNeo returns a webpage image or PDF from one HTTP request. It accepts options for full-page capture, lazy-image loading, CSS-selector elements, dark mode, device presets, viewport and retina settings, custom CSS or JavaScript, clicks, waits, blocked resources, headers, cookies, user agents, authorization, timezone, geolocation, transparent backgrounds, resizing, caching, signed links, asynchronous webhooks, bulk requests, and PDF output.
Its cleanup step accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be disabled. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing result. ScreenshotNeo also provides an MCP server for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients with take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Edge need me to scroll manually for Capture full page?
No. Microsoft’s documented Screenshot workflow captures content beyond the visible viewport without requiring manual scrolling.
What is Web Capture in older Edge instructions?
Web Capture is the older name used for Edge’s Screenshot feature. The current command is generally labeled Screenshot.
Can I capture just one element instead of the whole page?
Yes. Edge Screenshot includes a selected-area workflow; ScreenshotNeo can target one element by CSS selector when you need an automated, exact element capture.
