For an on-page coupon, clip or select it on the product page before taking the screenshot. For a promo code entered during checkout, capture the checkout summary after applying the code—the product page cannot show a discount that has not appeared there. Make the screenshot’s stage clear, and do not treat a coupon banner as proof that a code was redeemed or an order was placed.
First identify which kind of offer you have
Coupon shown on the product page
Amazon’s coupon training shows coupons surfaced on product detail pages. Select or clip the coupon, then capture the resulting product-page state if that is what you need to document. Keep the product title or identifying image and the coupon label together in the frame if possible. Promo code entered during checkout
If the code is entered in the checkout flow, capture the order summary after applying it and checking that the expected price or discount appears. Amazon’s guidance distinguishes clipping a coupon from savings displayed at checkout and advises checking the final checkout price before placing the order. How to capture the right page state
- Open the product detail page. Check that the intended item and variant are visible; a screenshot of a different size, color, or listing may not support the point you want to make.
- Determine where the offer applies. If the product page shows a coupon, select it there. If the offer requires a promo code, proceed to checkout instead.
- Wait for the page to update. Confirm the coupon appears selected or the checkout summary reflects the code before capturing. Do not infer success from merely clicking the control.
- Choose the capture scope. Use a visible-area screenshot when the product identity and coupon fit legibly on screen. Use a full-page capture if relevant details are separated by scrolling; use a focused element capture only if it includes enough context to identify the product and offer.
- Keep an original. If you crop or annotate a copy to explain something, retain the unedited screenshot and make clear that the presentation copy was edited.
- Review before sharing. Check for account names, delivery addresses, order identifiers, or payment information. Redact sensitive details in a sharing copy where needed, and do not present an edited image as an unaltered record.
What a coupon screenshot can and cannot show
A product-page screenshot can show the listing and an on-page coupon state. A cart or checkout-summary screenshot can show a discount reflected at that stage. Neither alone proves that an order was placed, that every offer condition was ultimately met, or that the same offer remains available later. Label the image accurately—for example, “product page with coupon selected” or “checkout summary after promo code”—rather than implying a later stage than the screenshot depicts. For proof of a promo-code discount, choosing the correct stage—product page, cart, or checkout summary—is more important than the capture tool.

Troubleshooting
- The coupon is missing from the screenshot: confirm that you selected the on-page coupon before capture, or that the code was applied in checkout. Wait until the relevant state is visible before taking the image.
- The discount does not appear beside the product price: the offer may be applied or reflected only later in the cart or checkout. Capture the stage where the price actually updates rather than implying it changed on the product page.
- The full-page image is incomplete or split: the page may exceed the capture tool’s limits. FullPage Capture says it splits captures beyond its stated Chrome canvas ceiling of 28,800 pixels per side or approximately 259 million pixels of area; that specification is vendor-reported, with publication date not stated and accessed in 2026. Try a focused capture or capture the relevant sections separately. FullPage Capture
- An automated capture misses content: dynamic content may not have loaded, or the capture service may not have access to the page state. Use an appropriate wait condition or delay where supported, and confirm that the URL is publicly accessible to the capture method; do not assume an API can apply a coupon or use a logged-in session.
