Safari on a MacBook Air does not have a documented built-in command for stitching a scrolling webpage into one tall screenshot. Choose the output you actually need: use File > Save As > Format > Web Archive for an offline webpage, Screenshot for an image of the screen, or a third-party capture service for a single tall image. Apple’s guidance documents screen, window, and selected-area captures—not a scrolling capture mode.
Choose the right kind of capture

Save the whole webpage in Safari
If you want to keep a page to read later rather than create an image, Safari’s built-in Web Archive option is the closest native whole-page alternative. Apple’s Safari User Guide says, “You can save an entire webpage, including all its graphics and links, or just parts of it.” The guide is for macOS 26.

- Open the webpage in Safari.
- Choose File > Save As.
- Choose Web Archive in the Format menu, then save the file.
- Open the saved archive later to view the page.
Web Archive is not a screenshot: it preserves a webpage and its graphics, and links work only while their destination webpages remain available. Some websites may prevent Safari from saving items displayed on the page. Choose Page Source instead only when you specifically need the HTML; it does not preserve the page as a visual screenshot.

- Press Shift-Command-5 to open the Screenshot app and choose a capture mode. The app includes options such as a timer and save destination.
- Press Shift-Command-3 to capture the entire screen.
- Press Shift-Command-4 to select a screen region.
These shortcuts capture the screen or a selection; Apple’s current screenshot instructions do not document a mode that automatically scrolls and stitches a long Safari page. Apple lists macOS 10.14 Mojave as the minimum for opening the Screenshot app with Shift-Command-5. On supported Mac models running macOS Tahoe 26 or later, Apple says SDR screenshots use PNG and HDR screenshots use HEIF.
Make a series of screenshots as you scroll
If separate images are acceptable, capture one visible section at a time. Safari lists the Space bar and Page Down as ways to scroll down by a screen.

- Open the page and position it at the first section you need.
- Capture that view with Shift-Command-3 or Shift-Command-4.
- Press Space bar or Page Down to move down by a screen, then capture the next view.
- Repeat until you reach the end of the content.
This gives you multiple separate images, not one continuous tall image. It can also leave gaps or overlaps if the page scrolls by an unexpected amount, so check the sequence before relying on it as a complete record.
Use Print when a document is acceptable
Safari’s shortcut reference lists Command-P to print the current webpage. If your Mac’s print dialog offers a PDF option, you can use it to save a document instead of sending the page to a printer. The exact PDF controls and how dynamically loaded content appears are not established by Apple’s cited shortcut guidance; check the dialog and resulting file on your macOS version before treating it as a complete copy.

When you need one tall image
Because Apple’s documented screenshot controls do not include scrolling capture, a single long image requires a third-party tool that supports your current Safari and macOS versions. Verify the tool’s compatibility and permissions before installing it; the built-in Web Archive and screen-capture shortcuts do not create a stitched image.
