Sign in through your insurer’s official portal, complete its OTP check there, and take the screenshot only after the page you need is authenticated and visible. Use your device’s built-in capture controls, then review the image and remove sensitive details before sharing it beyond the intended recipient. Capture the page after sign-in, not the OTP
- Open the insurer’s official website or app and follow its normal sign-in process. Enter the OTP only in the portal’s own verification step. Do not share the OTP or include it in the screenshot.
- Wait until the authenticated page, policy detail, or confirmation you need is fully loaded. If the portal has a loading indicator, wait for it to finish before capturing.
- Frame only the relevant evidence. Keep enough context—such as the insurer or portal name and the date or page heading, if needed—to make the image understandable to its recipient.
- Take the screenshot using your device’s built-in controls below.
- Open the saved image at full size. Check that the required content is legible and that unrelated personal or account details are not exposed.
IRDAI’s Bima Bharosa login page demonstrates registered-email OTP validation, but it does not establish that every insurer uses the same fields or sends codes through the same channel. Follow the instructions shown by your own insurer.

Press Windows logo key + Shift + S to open Snipping Tool. Choose a capture mode and select the area or screen content you need; then edit or save the snip. Check privacy before sharing
A portal screenshot may reveal policyholder information or account details. Keep the original secure, and share only the content the recipient needs. For a copy that will be shared more broadly, crop or redact OTPs, passwords, full identity or policy numbers, contact details, and unrelated policy information. These are prudent handling steps; the cited sources do not establish a screenshot-specific legal redaction requirement.

If you use Snipping Tool’s local quick-redaction option, inspect the final saved image at full size. Detection is not a guarantee that every sensitive field has been removed. Do not obscure information that an authorized recipient specifically needs to verify; ask the recipient what evidence format is acceptable if you are unsure.

If capture is unavailable in a managed Chrome environment, the restriction may be configured by an organization rather than caused by a portal fault. Google documents screenshot prevention for managed users and browsers using Chrome Enterprise Premium; it is not a general claim about all insurance portals or ordinary Chrome installations. An OTP used for an insurer’s website sign-in is not automatically an Aadhaar authentication step. IRDAI’s 31 August 2017 clarification concerns Aadhaar-based e-KYC; it says UIDAI access for client identification and authentication is voluntary and consent-based. Can I take the screenshot before entering the OTP?
You can capture any screen, but an OTP-entry screen does not document the authenticated result. For post-login evidence, capture the relevant page after sign-in and keep the OTP private.
Can I save a long insurance page as a single screenshot?

Does the 2017 IRDAI Aadhaar circular mean portal OTP sign-in is voluntary?
No. The circular’s consent statement is about UIDAI access for Aadhaar-based e-KYC, not every insurer’s website login or OTP flow.
