A screen capture only includes the current viewport, so a long page requires several captures. If you need the entire page as a readable document, use Notion’s ••• → Export → PDF instead; that produces a PDF, not an image screenshot.
Choose the format that matches your goal

Take a visible screenshot on Windows
Capture a selected part of the page
- Open the Notion page in the desktop app or a browser and scroll the section you want into view.
- Press Windows key + Shift + S. Windows opens its screen-capture overlay.
- Drag over the page area to capture. The shortcut copies the selected screen contents to the clipboard; the exact saving behavior depends on your Windows settings and version.
- Open the notification or paste the capture into Paint, an image editor, an email, or a document, then save it in the format you need.
Capture the whole visible window
After pressing the same shortcut, choose the window-capture mode if it is offered by your Windows version, then select the Notion window. This still captures only what fits in the window; content below the fold is not included.
Capture a long Notion page
There is no single ordinary screen capture of content that is not currently displayed. Scroll to the next section and repeat the shortcut, keeping a small overlap between images so they can be ordered or joined later. For a continuous, searchable result, export the page to PDF instead.
Take a screenshot on a Mac
- Open the Notion page and position the section you want to preserve.
- Use macOS’s built-in Screenshot tool and its keyboard shortcuts to select a region, window, or the entire screen.
- Choose where macOS saves the image, or copy it to the clipboard when that option is available.
- Repeat after scrolling if the page extends beyond the visible screen.
Apple’s instructions for the current Screenshot and screen-recording controls are available at Apple Support. Shortcut behavior and save locations can vary with macOS settings.

Export an entire Notion page as a PDF
Desktop app or browser
- Open the page in Notion.
- Click the page’s ••• menu.
- Choose Export, then select PDF.
- Choose which content to include, select a page format, and set a scale if the dialog offers it.
- Click Export and save the resulting file.
PDF export is the practical choice for a page with many sections because it lays out content across pages instead of forcing you to assemble viewport images. Notion documents this flow in Export your Notion content.
Including subpages
The Include subpages option described in Notion’s help instructions is restricted to Business or Enterprise plans. When used, the export is a ZIP containing PDF files and assets rather than one flat image.
Important PDF caveats
- Custom emojis may not appear in the exported PDF.
- If a PDF export fails, Notion may produce an HTML export instead. Open the downloaded file and check its format before sharing it.
- Export controls and available options can change with the Notion workspace plan and app version.
Export from Notion on mobile
- Open the page in the Notion mobile app.
- Tap •••.
- Tap Export, then set the export and page-format options.
- Tap Export and use the share menu to save the PDF or send it to another app.
Mobile export is useful when the page is not open on a computer. For a picture of exactly what is on the phone display, use the phone’s system screenshot gesture instead; that remains a viewport capture and may require several images for a long page.

Use the browser’s Print command when appropriate
- Open the Notion page in a browser.
- Choose File → Print (or the browser’s print command).
- Set the destination to Save as PDF, adjust orientation or margins, and save.
This is a convenient fallback for ordinary pages. Notion specifically notes that browser printing cannot print a full-page database; export that database from Notion as PDF first.

Make the capture readable and consistent
Before taking an image
- Close sidebars, menus, and unrelated windows so the capture contains only the material you intend to share.
- Set the page zoom and window size before capturing. A larger viewport shows more content, while excessive zoom-out can make text unreadable.
- Scroll to a stable heading or section boundary. For multiple images, retain a little overlap to make their order clear.
- Check that private comments, database properties, or linked-page previews are not visible before sharing.
When PDF is better than images
Choose PDF when readers need to search, copy, print, or review a page longer than one screen. Choose images when you need a visual reference, a slide, a bug report, or a quick excerpt whose on-screen appearance matters.

- Request a full-page capture with lazy-loaded images loaded, or capture one element by CSS selector.
- Select PNG, JPEG, or WebP output; set a viewport, one of 12 device presets, a custom device size, and a retina scale.
- Use dark mode, transparent backgrounds, image resizing, custom CSS, or JavaScript when the page needs a controlled presentation.
- Wait for a selector, a delay, or network idle before the capture; click an element first; hide selectors; and block ads, trackers, requests, or resource types.
- Supply custom headers, cookies, a user agent, or an Authorization header for pages that require them. Timezone and geolocation settings can make date- or location-dependent content deterministic.
- Request a PDF with paper size, margins, landscape orientation, and page ranges when a document is more useful than an image.
- Use a chosen cache TTL, asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks, bulk capture for up to 100 URLs per call, signed links for public
<img>tags, the usage API, or the OpenAPI specification for integrations. - Parameter names used by other screenshot APIs also work, which can reduce changes when migrating an existing integration.

Troubleshooting
The screenshot is missing lower sections
You captured the viewport, not the full page. Scroll and capture additional sections, or use Notion’s PDF export. For automation, request a full-page capture and allow lazy images to load.

The PDF is missing an emoji or looks different
Notion warns that custom emojis may not appear in PDF exports. Verify the export in a PDF viewer and use an image capture for a visual record when that element is essential.
Notion downloaded HTML instead of PDF
A failed PDF export may be delivered as HTML. Check the downloaded file extension and contents; retry the export, or use a screen capture if you only need a visual snapshot.
A full-page database will not print
This is a documented limitation of browser printing in Notion. Use the page’s ••• → Export → PDF flow for the database.

The automated request returns a blank or failed page
Confirm that the URL is reachable without an interactive login, increase the wait condition or delay, and inspect X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed. Supply required cookies, headers, user-agent, or Authorization values. Failed loads and blank pages are not billed by ScreenshotNeo.
The capture includes a consent banner or chat bubble
