To capture a product alongside its shipping charge, continue from the product page into checkout, enter the delivery information the store requires, and wait until a shipping option and price are displayed. Then capture the checkout view with the product or order summary and shipping line both visible. Stop before placing the order.
Why the product page may not show the shipping price
A product page may link to a general shipping policy, but that is not necessarily a quote for your delivery address. Some stores calculate shipping only after you provide delivery details and reach the shipping step. Shopify’s Cost API documentation, for example, says the total shipping amount is undefined until shipping is calculated, typically after the information step and selection of a shipping method.

Shopify Help Center also documents a Germany-specific setup in which a shipping-policy link appears on the product page. That link provides shipping information; it should not be mistaken for an address-specific checkout quote. See Display important information on the cart page for Germany.

- Identify the product. Open the product page and note that its name, selected variant, and price are clear. If the checkout summary will not show enough product detail, keep the product page available for reference, but do not present separate screenshots as though they show one simultaneous checkout state.
- Add it to the cart and proceed to checkout. Follow the store’s own checkout flow. Do not submit payment or complete the order just to obtain an image.
- Enter the required delivery details. Provide an authorized destination that is appropriate for the purpose of the screenshot. Depending on the store, a postal code or a fuller delivery address may be needed before delivery options can be calculated. Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 Commerce checkout overview describes a flow that requires a shipping address before calculating shipping costs; this is an example, not a universal rule for every retailer.
- Wait for priced shipping options. Continue until the checkout actually displays delivery methods and prices. If it shows options without a selected amount in the order total, select the relevant method and wait for the order summary to update. Do not infer a charge from a general policy page or an unpriced shipping label.
- Show the order summary if needed. Shopify’s checkout documentation says the summary displays products, prices, taxes, and shipping costs, and collapses at mobile breakpoints. On a narrow screen, open the summary or use a wider viewport if that makes the relevant details easier to capture. See Shopify checkout.liquid documentation.
- Capture only once the key details are readable. Aim to include the product identity or order summary, the shipping label or selected service, and the amount. If you use a full-page capture because the details do not fit in one viewport, inspect the finished image: dynamic checkout information can be missed or obscured during scrolling. FullPage Capture’s Help & FAQ describes a scroll-based capture workflow with PNG or PDF output, but does not establish compatibility with every store, checkout, or authenticated session.
- Review before sharing. Check that the product, shipping service or label, and price are legible. Crop or obscure personal address, contact, and payment information that is not needed for the record.
Choose a capture format that fits the checkout
A regular viewport screenshot is usually the clearest option when the order summary and shipping price fit together on screen. A full-page capture can include more of a long checkout, but a very tall image may make the important amount hard to read, and scrolling capture is not guaranteed to preserve every dynamic or authenticated checkout element. Use a PDF when the intended record is a document rather than an image; otherwise PNG is a straightforward choice. Whatever the format, inspect the saved output rather than assuming that everything visible during checkout made it into the capture.

What the screenshot does—and does not—prove
The image records what the checkout displayed for the destination and point in time shown. Shipping can depend on address and the store’s available methods; the captured price therefore does not establish that the same rate applies to another destination or on a later date. Keep enough destination context to make the screenshot understandable, while hiding personal details that are not necessary.

See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for request options. A screenshot API can capture a URL, but a checkout shipping quote may require a session, delivery details, and a selected shipping service; a URL-only request does not by itself create that checkout state. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie/consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture, and bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are not billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Common problems and fixes
- No shipping amount appears: The checkout may not have enough delivery information yet, or it may require you to select a shipping method. Complete the relevant shipping step and wait for the summary to refresh.
- The shipping summary is missing on mobile: Expand the collapsed order summary, or switch to a wider viewport if the details remain difficult to read. Shopify documents that its summary collapses at mobile breakpoints.
- The screenshot shows the product but not its shipping cost: Capture from the checkout after the price is displayed, and adjust the viewport or expand the summary. If using full-page capture, verify the resulting file includes the live shipping line.
- The image is too tall or the price is unreadable: Prefer a viewport capture if it can show the relevant lines together, or use a wider display and inspect the saved image at its actual size.
- A scroll capture misses checkout details: The capture tool may not retain dynamic content or the current authenticated state during scrolling. Use a direct screenshot of the visible checkout state instead, or capture separate clearly labeled views without implying they were simultaneous.
- The displayed rate differs from another quote: Check the destination, selected delivery service, and time represented by each image. A screenshot reflects only the checkout state captured, not a universal rate.
Checkout customization note for Shopify developers
For ordinary shoppers, the checkout steps above are enough. Developers maintaining older Shopify customizations should note that Shopify’s checkout.liquid documentation says checkout.liquid is unsupported for the Information, Shipping, and Payment steps and was sunset for Thank you and Order status pages on August 28, 2025. This is a platform customization caveat, not a requirement for capturing a shopper’s checkout.
