To save a record of a paywall notice you can already see, open the page normally and use Firefox’s built-in screenshot tool: choose Save visible for the screen in front of you or Save full page for the full page currently accessible to you. A screenshot documents what appeared; it does not unlock the article or grant permission to republish it.
Capture the notice in Firefox

Open the news page in Firefox as you normally would. Do not try to get around a subscription or login control.

Choose Save visible to capture the current viewport, including the notice if it is on screen. Choose Save full page to capture the full page as currently accessible. Save the resulting image, or use Firefox’s option to copy it to the clipboard.

Before you finish, check that the image shows enough context to identify the publisher and what the notice refers to. Keep the original image unchanged. If the date and URL are not visible in the capture, record them separately with the device used. These steps make the record easier to interpret later; they are not a formal guarantee of when or how a page appeared.
Choose the right kind of record

Firefox documents its screenshot options in Take screenshots in Firefox. A saved page and a screenshot serve different purposes: use an image when you need to show the visible notice, and a saved page when you need a local copy of the accessible page.

When screenshot capture is blocked
Stop if your browser or organization prevents capture; do not attempt to evade the restriction. In some managed environments, Chrome Enterprise policies can prevent screenshots, including keyboard shortcuts and apps or extensions that use Chrome’s capture API. See Google’s Chrome policy guidance. If you cannot take a screenshot, document the notice using an allowed method, such as writing down its text, the page URL, date, and device.

A screenshot records a display. It does not change a publisher’s rights or the terms governing its site, and it is not permission to access or share material behind a paywall. Terms vary by publisher. For example, The Indian Express terms and conditions describe restrictions on copying, storing, downloading, printing, or otherwise using site content in specified circumstances, and prohibit attempts to circumvent the site. Those terms are specific to that publisher; check the current terms for the site you are using and seek permission if your intended use requires it.

The Government of India’s Copyright Office handbook says, “There is no copyright over news. However, there is copyright over the way in which a news item is reported.” It also discusses fair dealing for purposes including research, study, criticism, review, and news reporting, subject to conditions. That general explanation does not determine whether a particular screenshot may be republished: a capture can include protected wording, photographs, page design, or other expression, and the purpose and extent of reuse matter. The Copyright Office also cautions that it cannot authorize use of copyrighted material on linked websites and advises users to seek authorization from the owner. Check with the actual publisher or rights holder rather than treating a government page as permission; see the Office’s Terms & Condition.
