To capture content below the fold, use Chrome DevTools to take a full-page screenshot, then convert the saved image to PDF. For a formal return or record, use the GST portal’s own PDF or data download when that workflow provides one; a screenshot is a visual record, not automatically an official filing document.
Choose the right kind of PDF
A full-page screenshot preserves a visual rendering of the page, including content outside the current viewport. The result is image-based and generally does not preserve structured, selectable text. By contrast, Chrome’s print-to-PDF creates a document layout that may paginate or reflow the page and may omit interface details. The output can vary with the GST workflow and login state.

GSTN’s Self Service Portal accepts screenshots with complaints about portal problems. That makes a screenshot useful for explaining an issue, but do not treat it as a filing artifact or transaction receipt unless the specific GST workflow says it is one. GST Self Service Portal

- Open the relevant GST portal page in Chrome and wait for the content you need to load. If the page has sections that load as you scroll, scroll through it once before capturing.
- Open DevTools. You can choose Inspect from the page’s context menu, or use the keyboard shortcut for your system.
- Open the DevTools Command Menu with Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+P on Mac.
- Type screenshot in the Command Menu and choose the full-page screenshot action.
- Save the image. Convert it to PDF using an image viewer, document editor, or operating-system workflow that offers PDF output.
- Open the PDF and inspect the whole page. Confirm that the content is present and readable at normal zoom and that the image has not been unexpectedly cropped.

Do not confuse area capture with full-page capture
The Command Menu also offers Capture area screenshot: select it, then drag over the part of the page you want. That captures a chosen region, not the whole document. Use the full-page action when you need content below the visible viewport.
Save a GST page as PDF with Chrome’s print dialog
If you need a document-style output, use Chrome’s print function and choose a PDF destination in the print dialog. The exact controls depend on your operating system and printer setup. Inspect the resulting pages: a long portal page may split across sheets, reflow, or omit elements that appear on screen. If the page offers its own PDF or data export, prefer that for a formal return or record.

Prepare a screenshot for a GST support complaint
The GST Self Service Portal says taxpayers can upload screenshots of pages where they encountered a problem, check ticket progress and resolution comments, and receive FAQs or user-manual guidance based on the selected category and subject. Before attaching a capture, review the whole image for missing sections and redact personal or business details the support team does not need. Troubleshooting
- The full-page command is not obvious: Open the DevTools Command Menu, type “screenshot,” and look for the full-page option. Chrome’s labels may vary by version. If you choose area capture, you will get only the selected region.
- The bottom of the page is missing: Some sections or images may load only after scrolling. Scroll through the page once, wait for the needed content, then capture again and inspect the result.
- The PDF is blurry or difficult to read: A screenshot is an image. Check it at normal zoom before sharing; if selectable text or a document layout matters more, try print-to-PDF or an official portal export if available.
- The printout has awkward page breaks: Print-to-PDF can paginate or reflow a long page. Review the pages and use the full-page screenshot workflow if preserving the visual page matters more than document-style pagination.
- The capture contains private information: Review the complete image or PDF before uploading it. Redact unnecessary taxpayer details and never share passwords or OTPs.
