Sign in through the email link in the browser session that will display the portal, confirm you are viewing the intended account and page, then capture it with full-page mode. In Playwright or Puppeteer, set fullPage: true. Open the saved image and verify its contents: a successful screenshot does not confirm that the right account is open or that all dynamic content loaded.
Sign in before capturing
- Open the member portal and request a sign-in link through its normal login flow.
- Open the email link in the browser session you intend to use for the portal. If the email app opens a different browser or device, the portal may ask you to authenticate again; that depends on the portal and its identity provider.
- Confirm that the intended member account and exact portal page are visible. Wait for the content you need to capture to load.
- Capture the page using a full-page screenshot method described below.
- Open the image and inspect the top, bottom, and important sections for missing content, clipping, stale loading states, or sensitive information.
Do not include or forward the one-time sign-in link as part of the capture workflow. Follow the portal’s rules for storing and sharing authenticated member pages.

Capture the entire page with Playwright
Playwright’s fullPage: true option captures the scrollable page as though it were displayed on a very tall screen. The documentation’s basic API example is:

Handle content that loads dynamically
Full-page mode means the capture extends beyond the current viewport. It does not guarantee that a portal’s lazy-loaded images, expanding sections, or other dynamic content will appear correctly. Check the finished image rather than treating the API call’s success as proof of completeness.

- If a section is still loading, wait for the relevant content before capturing.
- If content appears only after scrolling or interacting with the page, load or reveal it first, then inspect the result.
- If the portal changes while scrolling, take separate section captures where that produces a more reliable record.
- If content is clipped or missing, try again after the page settles and compare the new image with the visible page.
Choose a method for repeat captures
Playwright and Puppeteer both document full-page screenshots. The practical choice is usually the tooling already used by your project, plus whether you can complete the portal’s login in the browser context that will take the image. The available documentation establishes screenshot support; it does not establish that either tool can automatically authenticate to an unidentified member portal.
For a one-off capture, a browser-native full-page feature or extension may be simpler. Browser menu paths and extension privacy behavior vary, so check the current browser guidance and extension permissions rather than assuming a particular option is available or appropriate.

Email-link authentication and account safety
“Magic link” describes a sign-in approach, not one universal implementation. The portal may use its own identity provider and rules. Firebase is one documented example, not evidence that an unnamed portal uses Firebase.

For Firebase email-link sign-in, the application checks whether the URL contains a valid sign-in link and completes sign-in with the link and the user’s email. Firebase requires the email used to finish sign-in to match the address that received the link. Its guidance warns against putting the email in redirect URL parameters and reusing it, because that can enable session injection; it also recommends HTTPS in production. Invalid or expired codes can prevent sign-in. These details apply to Firebase implementations, not necessarily to other portals: Firebase Authentication’s email-link guidance.

If a Firebase link is opened on another device and the email address is not available there, the app may ask the user to provide it again. Firebase’s default sign-in email template also includes a timestamp in its subject and body to reduce the chance that multiple sign-in emails collapse into a thread that hides the link. Other identity providers may behave differently.

Protect the saved image
A screenshot is a visual record, not a semantic export of the portal’s data. Before storing or sharing it, check for member details that should remain private and confirm the portal’s rules permit the intended use. The portal is unnamed here, so its authentication provider, session behavior, capture policy, and sharing rules cannot be established in general.
