Capture the entire page in Firefox
- Open the webpage in desktop Firefox and wait for the content you want to capture to appear.
- Right-click an empty area of the page and select Take Screenshot. Alternatively, press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS. If the context menu or shortcut differs in your setup, see Mozilla’s Firefox screenshot instructions.
- In the screenshot controls, select Save full page.
- Select Download to save the image in Firefox’s default download folder, or select Copy to paste it into another application.
Mozilla says downloaded screenshots use a filename based on the page title and a timestamp. The page’s language does not require a different capture procedure.

Choose the right capture area and output

Use the screenshot controls to select a particular element or drag over an area if you need only part of a page.
Use Firefox Developer Tools if the regular controls are unavailable
Enable the full-page screenshot button
- Open Firefox Developer Tools.
- Open Developer Tools settings and find Available Toolbox Buttons.
- Enable Take a screenshot of the entire page, then use the screenshot button that appears in the toolbox toolbar.
Capture from the Web Console
Firefox’s Web Console provides the :screenshot helper. Add --fullpage to capture beyond the window bounds. The helper also documents options for a delay, device-pixel ratio, filename, and element selector; consult the Firefox Developer Tools screenshot documentation for syntax and current options.

Troubleshooting
- There is no “Take Screenshot” item: Try Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows/Linux or Command+Shift+S on macOS. If the regular interface remains unavailable, use the Developer Tools method above.
- The image includes only what is on screen: Choose Save full page, not Save visible.
- You cannot find the downloaded file: Check Firefox’s default download folder. Mozilla says the filename includes a timestamp and the page title.
- The screenshot crosshair will not move in Wayland: Mozilla notes this limitation for crosshair movement. It does not establish that all full-page capture is unavailable on Wayland; try the full-page control or Developer Tools route.
- Some page content is missing: Make sure the content you need has appeared before capturing. Mozilla’s instructions describe the general capture workflow, not a guarantee that every website element will render or appear in the image.
