To ask Screenshotlayer for a full-page screenshot, add fullpage=1 to its capture request. Include your access key and the complete page URL, including https:// or http://. Set a viewport width that gives the page the layout you want, then inspect the returned image—especially if the page is very long or loads content dynamically.
Make a full-page capture request
Screenshotlayer captures a webpage from its URL; this workflow is not an upload of a local HTML file. A request has this shape, with placeholder credentials and an example target:

Set the capture options for a long page

Choose the viewport and wait time deliberately
Match the intended responsive layout
The viewport width can change which responsive layout the page renders. Use a width that matches your purpose, and record the viewport so a later capture can reproduce the same layout. The documented example uses 1440×900; a narrower width may cause the page to render its mobile or tablet layout instead.
Allow delayed content time to appear
If the page uses scripts, animation, or lazy-loaded content, a delay in seconds may help. Screenshotlayer’s official blog recommends delay for these cases, but the reviewed documentation does not claim that waiting alone scrolls the page or activates every scroll-triggered component. Check the resulting image and test the target page rather than assuming all content was loaded.

Refresh captures and inspect very long pages
If a page has changed but the result appears stale, set force=1 to request a fresh capture. The API reference lists a default cache TTL of 2,592,000 seconds (30 days); the blog also describes ttl and force cache controls.

Common problems and fixes
- The result shows only the viewport: Check that the request includes
fullpage=1, rather than omitting it or setting it to another value. - The request does not identify or render the page: Confirm that
access_keyis present and valid, and thaturlcontains the full target address with its protocol. URL-encode parameter values in the request. - The layout is unexpectedly narrow or wide: Change
viewportto the intended width; responsive breakpoints can alter the rendered layout. - Late content or animation is missing: Try a suitable
delay, then inspect the result. Do not assume a delay loads sections that require scrolling. - The image looks out of date: Set
force=1to request a fresh capture instead of relying on cached output. - An extremely long capture is incomplete or unwieldy: The reviewed documentation does not specify a maximum height or image-size limit. Test the target and ask Screenshotlayer support about service limits before building around a particular maximum.

Screenshotlayer’s reviewed API reference and blog describe the capture parameters and cache controls, but do not establish a maximum full-page height, a guaranteed result for every dynamically loaded page, or a performance benchmark. Treat very long or interaction-dependent captures as something to verify with the actual target URL. The repository mentions a free allowance of 100 snapshots per month, but that figure may not reflect current terms; verify your account’s current plan rather than relying on it.
