Hometown Giants does not have its own cancellation button. Amazon announced that all six episodes release worldwide on Prime Video on October 16, 2026, so you need to cancel the Prime, standalone Prime Video, or Prime Video add-on subscription that actually billed you. Sign in to the account you used to watch, open Manage Your Memberships & Subscriptions, select the matching membership, and complete Amazon’s cancellation flow through its final confirmation screen. If nothing appears there, the charge is probably controlled by Apple, Google Play, a television provider, or another intermediary; cancel it with that biller instead.
What you are cancelling
A program title and a streaming subscription are different things. Hometown Giants is a title in Prime Video’s catalog, not a separate membership. Watching it may have required one of several billing arrangements:

Amazon’s October 2026 announcement says all six episodes of Hometown Giants are available exclusively on Prime Video worldwide from October 16, 2026. That establishes where the show is distributed, but it does not identify which membership paid for your viewing. The biller and subscription type determine the cancellation controls you see.

Identify the biller before you cancel
Start with the payment record rather than the show page. Look at the charge on your bank, card, or digital-wallet statement and note the merchant name, amount, and date. Then match it to the row below.

If the merchant descriptor is abbreviated, search your email for the renewal receipt and compare the account address, subscription name, and charge date. Do not cancel a similarly named membership in a different account; Amazon, Apple, and Google can each have multiple accounts on one household’s devices.
Cancel a Prime or standalone Prime Video subscription bought from Amazon
Amazon’s billing guidance directs customers to Manage Your Memberships & Subscriptions when an Amazon Prime membership or Prime Video subscription has renewed. Use the account that actually streamed Hometown Giants and follow this sequence.
- Sign in to Amazon. Use the email address or mobile number associated with the receipt or the device that watched the episodes. If you have more than one Amazon account, check each account’s order and membership email before changing anything.
- Open Manage Your Memberships & Subscriptions. This is the account-management area Amazon identifies for investigating Prime and Prime Video renewals. The wording or page layout can differ by country marketplace.
- Read the membership name carefully. Determine whether the entry is Prime, standalone Prime Video, or an add-on. A show page, watchlist entry, or profile setting is not the membership control.
- Select the matching membership. Choose the option to manage or cancel that specific subscription. Do not cancel an unrelated service merely because it appears near the correct entry.
- Continue through every cancellation screen. Amazon may present alternatives, pauses, or reminders before the final step. Follow the prompts until Amazon displays an explicit cancellation confirmation rather than stopping at an intermediate offer.
- Record the result. Save the confirmation email or take a screenshot showing the subscription name, cancellation status, and effective end date. Keep it with the original renewal receipt.
- Check the next statement. A later charge from the same membership indicates that cancellation did not complete, that a second account is active, or that another biller controls the subscription.
Amazon’s own billing wording describes the situation as: “An Amazon Prime membership or Prime Video subscription was renewed.” That wording refers to the underlying membership, not to a separate Hometown Giants fee.

Prime Video add-on subscriptions use a distinct Amazon management path. An add-on can therefore remain active even if you changed another Prime setting, and canceling the base Prime membership is not a substitute for checking an add-on entry.

- Sign in to the Amazon account that received the add-on charge.
- Open the Prime Video add-on subscription-management area from your account’s membership and subscription settings.
- Identify the add-on by its exact name and renewal information. Match those details to the bank or card statement.
- Choose the add-on’s cancellation command and continue until the final confirmation appears.
- Save the confirmation and its effective end date, then review the next statement.
If the add-on is not listed, do not assume it was canceled. Check other Amazon accounts and then investigate third-party billing, as described below.
If Amazon does not show the subscription
An absent entry usually means Amazon is not the biller for that charge, or that you are signed in to the wrong account. Use the merchant on the payment record to choose the next route.
Apple-billed subscriptions
Sign in to the Apple account associated with the receipt, open its subscription-management settings, and locate the Prime Video service. Cancel the subscription there and continue to the final confirmation. The effective date shown by Apple is the controlling date. If the service is missing, check another Apple account used on the viewing device and compare the receipt’s account identifier with the account currently signed in.

Google Play-billed subscriptions
Open Google Play’s subscription list for the Google account named on the renewal receipt. Select the Prime Video subscription, follow the cancellation prompts, and retain the confirmation showing the end date. A subscription can be absent when the device is signed in to a different Google account, so review every account that may have been used for the original purchase.

Television-provider billing
If the statement names a cable, satellite, smart-TV, or other television provider, that provider controls the subscription. Sign in to its customer portal and look for the channel, app, or streaming package that includes Prime Video. If the portal does not expose a cancellation control, contact the provider and ask specifically to cancel the Prime Video entitlement or add-on associated with the charge. Request written confirmation and the effective end date.
Another intermediary
Bundles and other marketplaces can bill a streaming entitlement without placing it in Amazon’s membership list. Use the company named on the statement or renewal email. Cancel in that company’s account system, not on the Prime Video title page, and save the final confirmation.
How to verify that cancellation worked
A confirmation screen is more reliable than a disappearing button or a verbal promise. Check all of the following before closing the account page:
- The confirmed subscription name matches the charge you intended to stop.
- The status says canceled, scheduled to end, or equivalent wording rather than merely “managed” or “paused.”
- An effective end date is displayed. The date can differ by marketplace, subscription type, and biller, so use the date shown for your account.
- A confirmation email arrives at the address associated with the billing account, or you have a screenshot if email delivery is delayed.
- The next statement does not contain another renewal from the same membership.
Do not delete the confirmation until the next expected billing date has passed. If you need support, the confirmation number, merchant descriptor, and original receipt let the biller locate the exact subscription faster.

Troubleshooting common cancellation problems
You can watch Hometown Giants but cannot find a subscription
Viewing access does not prove that your account is the payer. Someone else in the household may have purchased the membership, your employer or television provider may supply it, or a trial may be attached to another account. Compare the payment statement with Amazon, Apple, Google Play, and provider receipts. Cancel only through the account that receives the renewal.
The Amazon page shows no Prime or Prime Video entry
First sign out and back in with the account listed on the renewal receipt. Then check the marketplace or country version used for the purchase. If the entry is still absent, treat the charge as third-party controlled and inspect Apple, Google Play, a television provider, or another intermediary. Amazon’s membership page cannot cancel a subscription that another company bills.
You canceled, but another charge appeared
Compare the new charge with the confirmation. A different merchant descriptor can indicate a second subscription, an add-on, or a separate account. Review the charge’s date and amount, search for a receipt with those details, and cancel the matching entry. If the same subscription was charged after its confirmed end date, contact the biller with the saved confirmation and request an explanation or correction.

Continue until the service displays an unambiguous final status and end date. An offer to pause, change plans, or keep the membership is not a cancellation confirmation. Capture the final screen and look for the follow-up email.
The service remains visible after cancellation
The title may continue to appear in search results, watchlists, or a device’s recently watched area even after renewal is stopped. Those visual entries do not establish that billing is active. Use the biller’s membership status and confirmation date as the authority, and check the next statement for a renewal.
You canceled the wrong item
If you selected a different membership or add-on, stop and review the confirmation immediately. The biller may provide a way to restore the item, but restoration and refund rules vary by marketplace and are not stated universally. Contact the biller promptly with the incorrect cancellation details.
A quick decision path
- Find the charge. Note the merchant, amount, date, and account email.
- Classify the subscription. It will be Prime, standalone Prime Video, an Amazon add-on, or a third-party entitlement.
- Open the biller’s controls. For Amazon, use Manage Your Memberships & Subscriptions; for an add-on, use its separate add-on flow.
- Complete the final confirmation. Record the effective end date and confirmation email or screenshot.
- Escalate only with evidence. If a charge continues, give the biller the statement, receipt, and cancellation confirmation so it can trace the exact account.
What the Hometown Giants release means for your account
Because Amazon distributes Hometown Giants globally on Prime Video, the show itself does not tell you whether your access comes from Prime, standalone Prime Video, an add-on, or a partner package. The six-episode release date—October 16, 2026—also does not create a special one-time subscription or a show-specific renewal. Cancel the underlying membership identified by the biller, and rely on that provider’s confirmation screen for when the subscription ends.
