In Gran Turismo 7, open Options > Controllers > Steering Controller Settings to check steering and pedal inputs and adjust pedal sensitivity. Wheel centering, rotation range and some sensitivity controls depend on your hardware, so treat manufacturer software and button procedures as separate from GT7’s in-game settings.
Check wheel and pedal inputs in GT7
- Connect the wheel and pedals as their manufacturer instructs, then confirm the console recognizes the controller.
- In GT7, open Options > Controllers > Steering Controller Settings. Gran Turismo identifies this screen for checking controller inputs and calibrating pedal sensitivity in its G923 compatibility notice.
- Turn the wheel through its travel and press each pedal while watching the displayed inputs. Check that each control responds and returns toward its resting position. The notice does not specify a universal numeric target for every wheel or pedal set.
- Adjust pedal sensitivity in GT7 in small increments, then check the displayed response again. If you are unsure which setting helps, make a low-stakes test drive before changing anything else; GT does not give a universal recommended sensitivity value.
Separate in-game settings from wheel software
GT7’s pedal sensitivity setting is one adjustment layer. Some wheels also have manufacturer software or hardware profiles that affect sensitivity, rotation or centering. Those controls are not part of the GT7 menu. Change one layer at a time so you can identify which adjustment changed the behavior.

Logitech G923
GT7 supports the G923’s TRUEFORCE effects. Logitech’s optional G HUB software provides separate steering and pedal sensitivity controls: Logitech defines 50 as a linear 1:1 ratio; values from 51 to 100 make the control more sensitive, while values from 1 to 49 make it less sensitive. These are G HUB definitions, not GT7 presets. Logitech documents up to 900 degrees of rotation for the G923, but does not say every player should change the range. See Logitech’s G923 G HUB instructions.
Logitech G29 and G920
Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) offers steering sensitivity, operating range and accelerator, brake and clutch sensitivity controls. For these models, the operating range can be set from 40 to 900 degrees in 10-degree increments; Logitech lists 900 degrees as the default and says the range applies globally across games. Sensitivity adjustments can be made per game profile. Check software compatibility for your wheel before following the G29/G920 LGS instructions; Logitech notes that not all racing wheels work with LGS 8.70 or later.

Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro
Fanatec documents an Auto Setup profile that lets a game control tuning values when the game supports the feature. Its sensitivity setting controls rotation degrees; Auto allows the PC driver or a supported game to control sensitivity. Brake Force is available only with a pedal set that has a load-cell brake. For centering procedures and button combinations, Fanatec directs users to the quick guide for the connected wheel; firmware can also change tuning parameters. Consult the current Gran Turismo DD Pro documentation for your setup.
Center an off-center wheel
If the physical wheel center does not match the displayed or in-game center, follow the instructions for your exact model rather than borrowing another brand’s button combination.

Thrustmaster wheels
Thrustmaster’s centering instructions are model-specific. Its FAQ describes a PC check using a 1080-degree rotation setting and the 50% axis marker. If the wheel is off-center, it recommends resetting outside the game: on PS4 or PS5, use the console system menu; on PC, do the procedure at the Windows desktop with the Control Panel closed. The sequence is to connect USB, wait for auto-calibration, turn fully left, turn fully right, center the wheel, then press the button combination listed for that model. Check the exact entry in Thrustmaster’s auto-calibration and wheel-centering FAQ.

Fanatec points users to the quick guide for the attached wheel for functions such as center calibration by button combination. Follow the guide for the connected device rather than assuming every Fanatec wheel uses the same procedure.

Troubleshoot a response that still feels wrong
- A pedal does not reach its full displayed range: Check GT7’s input display first. If the hardware has a pedal utility, inspect its readings and controls as a separate adjustment layer.
- Pedal response feels too abrupt or too gradual: Adjust GT7 pedal sensitivity first. On a G923, G HUB sensitivity is another, separate option. Change one setting at a time.
- G923 vibration is excessive or loud: Gran Turismo recommends Options > Controllers > Vibration Function, then changing Vibration Strength. The compatibility notice says this setting is 100 by default; that is a vibration value, not a pedal calibration target.
- Force feedback vibrates violently: GT7’s Update 1.15 notes warn that very high Torque or Force Feedback Sensitivity under Controller Settings > Steering Force Feedback may cause violent vibration. This 2022 warning does not establish that every wheel or current software version behaves the same way.
- A software adjustment has no effect: Verify that you are changing the intended layer and that the wheel and software are compatible. Logitech’s G HUB and LGS adjustments require connecting the wheel to a PC; Fanatec Auto Setup depends on game support.
