Use a stable list of pricing-page URLs, one documented capture profile, and a manifest that records what each screenshot actually shows. For control over browser behavior and local files, automate the batch with Playwright. For less browser setup, use a hosted capture service after checking its batch limits, regional controls, and result reporting. A screenshot is evidence of a page returned at a particular time and setup—not proof that every buyer in India sees the same price or page.
What to prepare before capturing
Start with a CSV or spreadsheet containing one canonical pricing-page URL per product. Resolve redirects and confirm that each URL is the intended pricing page before running the batch. Give every row a stable identifier so its image can be traced back to the company and source URL.

When the screenshot supports a pricing claim, separately transcribe the visible plan name, currency, billing period, and date observed into the research dataset. Do not infer these from a cropped, unreadable, or incomplete image.

Playwright for a controlled local workflow
Playwright’s screenshot documentation describes page screenshots and full-page capture; its Page API documents navigation and page operations. A URL loop gives you direct control over filenames, waits, retries, and where evidence is stored. The example below assumes Node.js and Playwright are installed, and that a CSV named urls.csv has one URL per line with a header named url.
Install Playwright and its Chromium browser with npm install playwright and npx playwright install chromium. Save this as capture.mjs and run it with node capture.mjs.

These are starting settings, not universal defaults: choose settings that match the report question and apply them consistently. The simple CSV reader expects one URL per line; if your URLs contain commas, quotes, or extra columns, use a CSV parser rather than extending this parsing approach.
Hosted capture services for managed browser operation
A hosted option can reduce responsibility for running browser infrastructure. Check whether the service accepts a URL list, reports success or error per URL, supports a location suitable for the intended Indian-market view, and lets you export or retain the images and run settings you need. Feature descriptions are not independent comparisons of reliability, speed, or cost.

Confirm current limits, region choices, retention, live pricing, and compatibility with the target sites before committing to a workflow.
Standardize the capture profile
Comparable images require comparable conditions. Record the profile alongside every result and avoid changing settings midway through a batch without marking the affected captures.
- Viewport: Choose desktop or mobile dimensions and keep them fixed within a comparison set. If both views matter, run separate, clearly labeled profiles.
- Capture extent: Viewport screenshots make above-the-fold layouts comparable; full-page screenshots show more of the page but may include content loaded during scrolling. Do not mix these modes without labeling them.
- Format: PNG preserves fine visual detail; JPEG can reduce file size where supported. Use one format for a comparison set unless file size or tool limits require otherwise.
- Wait behavior: Use a documented navigation condition and a bounded extra wait. Lazy-loaded content may require scrolling or a wait for a relevant selector; neither a fixed pause nor full-page capture guarantees every element has loaded.
- Region: If the report asks what an Indian visitor may see, select and record an appropriate India location when available. The setting does not establish that every Indian visitor receives the same page.
- Consent and page state: Decide whether the research concerns the page before or after consent. Preserve and note the relevant state rather than silently removing elements that could affect interpretation.
Run the batch and audit its results
- Run every URL with the same saved profile and a stable row identifier.
- Keep a manifest entry for every attempt, including failed attempts. A missing image is not a successful capture.
- Inspect the images for blank pages, unexpected redirects, cropped plan details, loading placeholders, consent overlays, login walls, and bot checks.
- Retry only the affected URLs after a documented change, such as a longer bounded wait or a different location. Retain the original attempt so the report has an audit trail.
- For each pricing claim, verify the visible plan, currency, billing term, and date against the image. If any detail is obscured or absent, mark it unverified rather than filling in a likely value.
Public pages can differ from a personal browser because of authentication, consent, bot defenses, and regional delivery. The Apify Actor description specifically cautions about such differences; an image file by itself does not prove the intended user experience.

How to account for India-specific page variation
Do not assume a capture from an arbitrary server location represents a buyer in India. A reviewed service exposes a region setting, but regional delivery is site-specific, and a location option cannot prove a uniform experience for all Indian visitors. Test representative pages manually from the intended market context and record the selected capture region.

Treat the screenshot as evidence of what that run returned at its timestamp and setup—not as proof that the displayed price is contractually available to every buyer or that all visitors saw the same variant.

Blank or incomplete image
Check whether navigation completed, whether the site rendered content after DOM content loaded, and whether a selector or extra bounded wait is needed. For content below the fold, test a deliberate scroll or a full-page capture. Record the adjustment and recapture rather than replacing the original evidence silently.
Unexpected redirect, login wall, or bot check
Compare the submitted and final URLs, and record the visible challenge or login state. Do not treat a successful file write as proof of a successful pricing-page capture. If access requires authentication, only use a permitted account and document that the result is an authenticated view.
Consent banner or popup obscures plan details
Decide whether the overlay is part of the user experience being documented. Capture and label that state when relevant; if a second capture after consent is useful, keep it as a distinct state rather than silently removing the overlay.

Inconsistent currency or page content
Record the capture location and compare representative pages with the intended market context. Do not infer a geographic setting from the displayed currency alone, and do not claim that one region setting represents every Indian buyer.
Missing output or batch interruption
Use the manifest to identify precisely which rows lack a successful file. Retry only those rows, preserving their first-attempt status and adding a separate retry record. Keep concurrency within the chosen tool’s documented limits.
