Best psychube: The Soft Rain of Yesterday
The Soft Rain of Yesterday is the strongest general recommendation in the current guides. Its role tags and Beast compatibility line up with Rhiannon’s all-rounder/support identity, while its team-oriented damage and Critical Damage benefits give the entire party more value than a psychube aimed only at her own output.
Why it is the default
- Role compatibility: the psychube’s All-Rounder and Beast conditions fit the way Rhiannon is normally deployed.
- Team value: the reported effects benefit team damage rather than asking Rhiannon to act as the sole carry.

When Family Mentor makes sense
Family Mentor is the principal alternative identified by current guides. Its teamwide Critical Damage effect takes longer to stack and depends more heavily on how often your team uses Moxie. That makes it a situational option rather than a universal replacement for The Soft Rain of Yesterday.

Choose Family Mentor when your roster already uses Moxie frequently enough to make the stacking requirement routine, and when the resulting Critical Damage amplification supports your damage dealer better than the more generally applicable option. If your rotation is irregular, your team spends long periods waiting for resources, or you are still learning the encounter, the slower ramp makes it less reliable.

If neither option is available, compare candidates by the same three tests: does the role tag fit Rhiannon, does the effect help allies rather than only her, and can your team trigger the effect consistently? Stats and Resonance priorities
Build Rhiannon for dependable team contribution. Current recommendations put ATK and Max HP first, followed by survival or defensive utility. ATK supports the offensive side of her Mental-damage and team-support package, while Max HP gives her a larger margin for surviving attacks and continuing to provide value.
1. ATK
ATK is the first offensive stat to favor because it improves the part of Rhiannon’s kit that still needs to function while she is supporting. It is a better general-purpose investment than trying to force a critical build designed around personal carry damage.

Max HP is the second central priority. A support who is defeated early cannot provide buffs, debuffs, or damage assistance for the rest of the encounter. HP investment also makes her less dependent on perfect defensive timing, which is valuable in unfamiliar stages.
3. Survival and defensive utility
After ATK and Max HP, take defensive options that match the content you are clearing. The exact choice depends on the available Resonance pieces and the threats in the stage, but the principle is stable: a small amount of defensive value that prevents a knockout is worth more than a marginal increase to an infrequent personal critical hit.
Why critical stats are not the main plan
Rhiannon can deal damage, but the current advice does not treat her as a dedicated critical carry. Chasing personal Critical Rate or Critical Damage first can leave her less durable and reduce the reliability of the team benefits that justify bringing her. Let the psychube and your main damage dealer handle the team’s principal damage scaling unless a specific composition proves that a different allocation is superior.

Using an Equanimity pattern
One current guide recommends an ATK/HP-focused Equanimity pattern. Use that as a practical starting pattern rather than a mandatory universal layout. The right arrangement changes with your account, the quality of your available pieces, and whether your team already supplies enough survivability.

- Prefer a completed defensive path over scattered offensive nodes if Rhiannon is being knocked out.

Should you take Rhiannon to Insight III?
Yes, Insight III is the key upgrade milestone identified in the current team-building guidance. The reported benefit is entry-combat Moxie together with Raptor Kinship beginning at 70%. Those effects help her reach the support cycle sooner, which directly improves the reason most teams field her.
Why Insight III comes before fine-tuning
Small Resonance improvements cannot compensate for a support arriving late to the fight. Insight III changes her opening state, so it affects every battle rather than only the battles in which a late-stage stat increase happens to matter. If Rhiannon is part of your regular team, this is normally a better resource target than polishing secondary stats first.
How to plan the upgrade
- Confirm the live requirement in your client. Current guides list material quantities, but those costs should be checked against the version you are playing before you spend limited resources.
- Secure the prerequisites for each Insight stage. Do not assume a guide’s material list is unchanged across patches or editions.
- Take Insight III before optimizing minor Resonance differences if Rhiannon is a permanent or frequent member of your roster.
- Test her opening cycle after the upgrade. The purpose of the investment is faster access to her support sequence, so judge the result by how quickly the team reaches its intended rhythm.
If you only use Rhiannon occasionally and another unit already fills the same support function, Insight III can be delayed. The upgrade is strongest when the team actually benefits from her earlier Moxie and Raptor Kinship state in a large number of battles.
How to build a team around Rhiannon
The most useful default shape is:
- A main damage dealer who converts the team’s buffs and debuffs into pressure.
- Rhiannon as the flexible Beast support and Mental-damage contributor.

Main damage dealer examples
Current team guides give Ms. Stranger and Nautika as examples of damage dealers who can occupy the primary damage slot. Treat those names as examples rather than mandatory partners. The correct carry is the unit you have invested in and whose damage plan benefits from the support and teamwide effects Rhiannon provides.
Before locking the pair, check whether the damage dealer needs frequent Moxie spending, particular timing windows, or a different support profile. A carry that cannot take advantage of Rhiannon’s team benefits may perform better with a more specialized partner.
Additional support examples
Charon and Semmelweis are listed as support examples in current guidance. Use the second support to cover a weakness rather than duplicating the same function automatically. If Rhiannon already supplies the flexible team utility you need, the other support should improve the carry’s output, smooth resource use, or provide protection that Rhiannon does not.
Sustain examples
Enigma and Rubuska are cited as sustain examples. Choose the unit that is already built and can keep the team stable in the content you are attempting. Use her when she solves a problem:
- Your main damage dealer needs another source of team support or damage amplification.
- Your roster lacks a unit who can contribute Mental damage while supporting allies.
- You need a general-purpose fourth slot for content where a specialized archetype is unreliable.
- Your existing support line leaves a survivability or resource-management gap that her build can help cover.
Keep the established archetype when its dedicated members already provide the same benefits with stronger internal synergy. The question is not whether Rhiannon is useful in isolation; it is whether she improves the four-person team you can actually field.

- Role: Is Rhiannon supporting the team, or have you accidentally built her as the primary carry?

Common mistakes and how to correct them
Building for personal critical damage first
Symptom: Rhiannon has attractive personal numbers but the party loses her before her support value is realized. Correction: reset the priority toward ATK, Max HP, and survival, then let the main damage dealer carry the team’s primary scaling.
Choosing Family Mentor without a Moxie plan
Symptom: the psychube’s team effect takes too long to stack or expires before it matters. Correction: use The Soft Rain of Yesterday as the general option, or select Family Mentor only when the team’s Moxie usage makes its stacking dependable.
Stopping before Insight III

Put her beside a well-invested damage dealer, a complementary second support, and dependable sustain.
