Start with the artifact set A Day Carved From Rising Winds, an ATK% sands, a Pyro DMG goblet (or ATK% if its substats are better), and a Crit circlet; then adjust Energy Recharge and weapon choice to fit his team.
The recommendations below reflect the Mobalytics build guide, updated July 19, 2026, and Icy Veins’ team guide, reviewed for version 6.7 on August 6, 2026. They are guide recommendations, not claims of fresh comparative testing.

Choose Light or Dark mode for the job
Durin is a five-star Pyro sword character used as an off-field sub-DPS and support. His Elemental Skill lets you choose between two modes, and that choice changes what his Burst contributes to the team.
Light mode: support and reaction-linked resistance reduction
Choose Light mode when you want Durin to support the team. His Burst can reduce enemy resistance when specified Pyro reactions occur; which resistance is affected depends on the elements involved. Plan the rest of the team around the reactions you want to trigger rather than treating the resistance effect as identical in every lineup.
#1 Best Overall
- GENSHIN IMPACT Mondstadt Themed Series Character Stand - Durin
Dark mode: Durin’s own reaction damage
Choose Dark mode when you want to emphasize Durin’s personal damage, especially through Vaporize or Melt. That makes Hydro or Cryo application more central to the team plan than it is for a support-focused Light-mode lineup.
Build Durin around his role
Artifacts and main stats
- Recommended set: A Day Carved From Rising Winds.
- Sands: ATK%.
- Goblet: Pyro DMG is the recommended starting point; an ATK% goblet can compete when its substats are better.
- Circlet: Crit Rate or Crit DMG, chosen to improve the overall balance of his Crit stats.
These are the main-stat recommendations in Mobalytics’ guide; the goblet choice is not absolute because substats can change which piece performs better.
Energy Recharge
Mobalytics gives a 120–180% Energy Recharge range and says the target varies with team composition and energy generation. Treat it as a team-dependent guide range, not a universal threshold: assess whether Durin can use his Burst consistently in the rotation you actually play.

These are the guide’s recommendations rather than independently tested rankings. Choose with the same priorities as the build: damage for a damage-focused setup, or more help with energy if Burst availability is the constraint.
Rank #3
- Genshin Impact "Ode to a Sweet Afternoon" Furina Chibi Figure
Talent priority
Mobalytics recommends leveling Burst first, Skill second, and Normal Attack last. Its rationale is that most of Durin’s damage and value comes from his Burst, while raising his Skill also improves its energy contribution.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Pick a team by reaction and roster
Durin can fit more than one team archetype. Icy Veins lists Overload, Melt, Geo, Pyro Swirl, and Mono-Pyro examples, while also noting that team choices depend on enemies, build, and investment. Hexerei bonuses are not required for a team to function.
Rank #4
- Genshin Impact Fun in the Snow Seies Keychain - Durin
For Hexerei lineups
Mobalytics gives these example lineups:
- Varka / Durin / Prune or Venti / Nicole
- Lohen / Durin / Nicole / Citlali or Xilonen
These are roster-dependent examples, not mandatory teams. In the Varka example, the guide’s rotation begins with Durin using his Skill twice and then his Burst before supports and Varka take the field.

For other reaction teams
Icy Veins identifies Nicole as a strong partner and includes options built around Overload, Melt, Geo, Pyro Swirl, and Mono-Pyro. For Dark mode, prioritize the Hydro or Cryo application needed for Vaporize or Melt. For Light mode, select teammates and a rotation that can trigger the relevant Pyro reactions for its resistance-reduction support.
