For the Version 4.6 build context, start Aventurine • Waveflair with Summer Rides the Surf, Ever-Glorious Magical Girl, and Punklorde Stage Zero. Prioritize Speed, then CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG, but treat the sphere and body main stats as account-dependent: current guides disagree on the best setup, and none establishes one universal answer. His team should also match whether you are using another Elation character or leaning on frequent allied attacks to fuel his damage cycle.
HSR-Build labels its character page Version 4.6 and says it was updated September 26, 2026. The recommendations below reflect that patch-specific guide context, alongside independent build advice—not official HoYoverse rankings. HSR-Build’s Aventurine • Waveflair page

What role does Aventurine • Waveflair’s build support?
HSR-Build identifies Waveflair as a five-star Quantum Elation character. A September 2026 guide describes his damage cycle as repeated Elation Skills: allied attacks feed Fervor and Punchline, and accumulated Fervor strengthens a later Elation Skill. That makes attack frequency an important team-building consideration, rather than a reason to select allies solely for their labels.
The guide describes two team modes. If he is the only Elation character, his Elation Skill counts as a Follow-Up ATK, while allies’ attacks help advance the engine. With another Elation character, the passive instead shifts toward granting Elation bonuses to allies and himself. These are secondary-guide explanations of the kit; check the live in-game text for exact mechanics and wording. Buffhub’s build guide

Which Light Cone, Relics, and main stats should you use?
Start with HSR-Build’s Version 4.6 setup
- Light Cone: Summer Rides the Surf. The page also lists Today’s Good Luck, Welcome to the Cosmic City, and Until the Flowers Bloom Again as alternatives.
- Cavern Relic: Ever-Glorious Magical Girl. HSR-Build describes its two-piece effect as a CRIT DMG bonus and its four-piece effect as DEF ignore for Elation damage.
- Planar Ornament: Punklorde Stage Zero.
- Main stats: CRIT Rate body, Speed feet, flexible sphere, and Energy Regeneration Rate rope.
HSR-Build’s listed substat order is SPD > CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG. Its trace priority is Elation Skill > Talent > Ultimate > Skill > Basic, and it lists the Ultimate at 130 energy. HSR-Build’s build summary
Resolve the sphere and body disagreement with your final stats
Another guide recommends a Quantum DMG sphere, Speed feet, and either a CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG body depending on the finished build. In that guide’s tuning advice, 140 SPD is a bonus-ability breakpoint and around 160 pre-combat SPD is an endgame target; it also advises keeping CRIT Rate near, but not above, 100%. These are guide-specific targets, not mandatory thresholds for every account or equipment set. Buffhub’s stat recommendations

- Aventurine from the popular game Honkai: Star Rail is joining the Lookup series!
- The Lookup series of figures are all posed in sitting poses looking upward, allowing them to be displayed by your side always looking up into your eyes.
- The necks are also fitted with a joint so they can always be looking right at you!
- The figure is about 4.33" tall, which makes it bigger than you'd think. Display him alongside Kakavasha who will release at the same time to bring out the Honkai: Star Rail universe even more!
- The product box will have a Bandai Namco warning label which is proof you are purchasing an officially licensed product
The practical distinction is that one recommendation leaves the sphere open while the other favors the direct-damage Quantum DMG main stat. The sources do not establish a tested universal winner. Compare the pieces you actually have, including their substats, and judge the complete build’s SPD and CRIT balance rather than swapping to a main stat in isolation. The same logic applies to the body: use the CRIT option that brings the final build closer to its intended balance.

HSR-Build reports Summer Rides the Surf at 123.82% relative damage at S1 in its comparison. This is a ratio against the lowest-ranked item in that ranking, for the listed superimposition and team—not a universal damage increase. The guides suggest more than one workable direction. The examples below are roster options, not a claim that a single lineup is best for every account.

| Approach | Example lineup | When it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Elation core | Aventurine • Waveflair, Yao Guang, Elation Trailblazer, Huohuo | For a team built around multiple Elation characters; this lineup is listed by Beebom. |
| Single-Elation, frequent attackers | Aventurine • Waveflair, Ashveil, Mortenax Blade, Huohuo | For the single-Elation mode, with allied attacks feeding his Fervor and Punchline engine; listed by the September guide. |
| Buff-oriented alternative | Aventurine • Waveflair, Ashveil, Robin, Huohuo | An alternative centered on buffers; HSR-Build lists Yao Guang/Robin/Huohuo around Waveflair, and Beebom includes Robin as an alternate partner. |
Choose between them by checking your available roster, how often allies attack, whether another Elation character is present, and whether the team needs a sustain slot. HSR-Build and Beebom emphasize different combinations, while the mechanics guide discusses both Elation and follow-up modes; the guides do not establish a universal best team. How to prioritize upgrades
- Build a functional team first. Decide whether Waveflair is your only Elation character or part of an Elation core, then select allies that suit that mode and keep the team’s sustain needs covered.
- Equip the recommended starting set. Use Summer Rides the Surf, Ever-Glorious Magical Girl, and Punklorde Stage Zero if available; consider the listed Light Cone alternatives when they better match your account.
- Balance Speed and CRIT on actual pieces. Begin with the HSR-Build main-stat recommendations, then compare the Quantum DMG sphere and CRIT body alternatives against the final stats and substats you can reach.
- Level traces in the listed order. HSR-Build prioritizes Elation Skill, Talent, Ultimate, Skill, then Basic.
Build pages checked for this guide describe Version 4.6, with HSR-Build’s page updated September 26, 2026. Rankings, kit explanations, and available characters can change between patches, so verify the current in-game text and roster before committing scarce upgrade resources.
