Build around one main player whose role and skills match how you like to play, then spend character-specific resources on that player before widening your roster. Add teammates to cover gaps in your approach, and treat awakening and Hot Zones as ways to develop that plan—not as proof of a universally strongest lineup. The official sources describe these systems but do not establish a current best team or tier list.
Start with a role and a main player
Kuroko’s Basketball Street Rivals is a basketball game based on the anime with real-time online battles, 3-on-3 matches, character development, training, free games, and story mode. That makes your intended play style a more useful starting point than chasing a supposed universal pick: choose a player whose role and skills you can use reliably.

Before committing resources, consider what you want that player to do for your team and which of their skills fit your preferred approach. The official materials reviewed here do not compare current characters, publish player win rates, or establish a ranking, so there is no evidence-based “best first player” recommendation.

As a practical resource-management approach, develop the player you expect to use first, especially when an item is specific to a character. The game’s official announcements describe character-specific awakening cards and training items, but do not establish current costs or prove that concentrating resources produces a particular competitive result.

- Check which player-specific materials you have and which character can use them.
- Compare the displayed effect with the role you want that player to fill.
- Keep other characters in reserve until you know which roster gaps you need to address.
Add teammates to complement your plan
Once you have a main player, choose teammates for the coverage and play pattern they bring to your 3-on-3 lineup. For example, look for skills that support your preferred way of creating chances or help address a weakness you notice in matches. These are lineup-building principles, not a prescribed character combination: the official listing confirms team competition but does not name a mandatory role mix.
Understand awakening before using character cards
FIVECROSS’s December 27, 2023 Ver. 2.0.0 announcement describes awakening as a character progression system. It says awakening unlocks at user level 15, uses the corresponding character’s awakening card, and grants an awakening skill and stats. The announcement also says duplicate player cards are converted into awakening cards for that player.

Those are dated instructions, not a guarantee that today’s requirements, costs, or menu flow are unchanged. Check the current in-game screen before spending cards. Read the listed skill and stat changes and decide whether they support the role you chose; the announcement does not establish optimal awakening breakpoints or a best character to awaken.

FIVECROSS’s March 19, 2025 Hot Zone announcement describes large court areas labeled C, F, and G, each split into smaller areas. Entering an unlocked Hot Zone can grant a bonus, while Hot Zone development can unlock season skills that you can activate manually during matches.

Check the current season screen for the available zones, bonuses, skills, and development requirements. Then decide whether a particular bonus or manual skill fits your chosen player and approach. The announcement does not provide a basis for ranking zones or claiming a specific numerical advantage, and the details may have changed since publication.
Use training and events without assuming old rewards still exist
The same March 2025 announcement described a limited-time event with player missions that awarded a player and player-specific training cards or training notebooks. Those were rewards for that event, not evidence that it is available now. Check the current event and training screens for active rewards and requirements instead of planning around a past promotion.

Use a simple loop: play with your intended main player, identify what your lineup lacks, and spend the next character-specific resource where its displayed effect addresses that gap. Revisit your choices when the current game offers new characters, progression options, events, or balance changes rather than assuming older announcements describe today’s competitive environment.

The Google Play listing showed an update dated July 14, 2026 when reviewed, but app versions and availability can vary by country and platform. FIVECROSS’s official game page lists the title as free-to-play with some paid content, available on iOS and Android, and gives November 16, 2023 as its release date.
