The October 8, 2026 update replaced several linear choices with commitment points: a binary choice appears in the middle of each branch, while the branch ends use three-skill choice pools that open at reported 30- and 40-point investments. Your best allocation depends on whether you value movement, carrying and resilience, or looting and field utility—not on a universal “best” build.
This guide separates Embark’s confirmed tree rules from the current guide-reported numbers, then gives practical templates for three playstyles. Frozen Trail 2.0 is still being tuned, so verify every description in your game before confirming a respec.

What changed in Frozen Trail 2.0
Embark’s Frozen Trail 2.0 update notes, published October 8, 2026, describe a substantial Raider Skill Tree redesign. In the middle of each branch, the previous node structure became one path with a binary skill choice. You select one of the two skills, not both, and can make the choice again only after resetting the tree.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsAt the end of each branch, the update uses two additional choice nodes. Each node presents a three-skill pool, with the available choices gated by the points you have invested in that branch. A current third-party guide reports the first and second end gates at 30 and 40 points respectively. Those thresholds and the individual skill values are guide-reported figures, not numbers stated in Embark’s update excerpt.
#1 Best Overall
That distinction matters. Embark explicitly warns that the reimagined tree may receive further changes as the team observes how players use it. The official wording is: “As this is a fairly big reimagining of the Skill Tree, there will likely be more tweaks and updates in the near future, to existing and new skills, as we see how you are engaging with it.” Treat any allocation as a Frozen Trail 2.0 plan for the current patch, not a permanent meta.
Current point rules and gates
The following quantities come from TheArcRaiders.com’s guide, updated October 8, 2026 and cross-checked there against two community datasets on October 9. Use them as the current planning framework, then confirm the live descriptions in your client.
| Item | Current reported value | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Base skill points | 76 at level 75 | Plan a complete level-75 allocation around 76 points; lower-level characters simply have fewer points to distribute. |
| Middle branch choice | 10 points invested in a branch | At the reported threshold, choose one of the two middle skills. The alternatives are mutually exclusive until a reset. |
| First branch-end gate | 30 points invested | Unlocks the first end choice according to the current guide. |
| Second branch-end gate | 40 points invested | Unlocks the second end choice according to the current guide. |
| Full reset price | 2,000 Coins per point | The guide reports this as the current cost of a complete reset; check the live respec screen before spending. |
At a branch end, the guide describes a three-skill choice pool in which up to two of the three options can become available after the required investment. Read the exact wording on each node: “up to two” does not mean every skill in the pool is automatically active.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Because changing a middle or end choice requires resetting, do not spend the final points until you have inspected every unlocked description. A reset can become expensive at a full 76-point allocation: using the reported 2,000-Coins-per-point rate, resetting all 76 points would cost 152,000 Coins. That arithmetic is an illustration of the reported rate, not a separately published price quote.
Choose an objective before choosing a branch
The three branches serve different jobs in the current guide. They are useful planning categories, not official game modes or guaranteed performance rankings.
Mobility: movement chains and stamina
Mobility covers stamina and traversal. The guide’s examples include sprinting, climbing, rolling, vaulting and movement chains. Prioritize it when your plan depends on reaching cover, crossing exposed ground, escaping an ARC threat or taking a faster angle in a fight.

Conditioning: carrying and resilience
Conditioning focuses on carry weight, encumbrance management, resilience and related ways to remain effective while hurt or downed. It is the natural branch for players who extract with heavy loot, carry equipment for a squad or dislike losing effectiveness after taking damage.
Survival: looting and field utility
Survival supports searching, stealth while looting, crafting, recycling and in-raid repairs. It is the strongest starting point for a route built around gathering materials and maintaining equipment during a run rather than taking every engagement.
Build 1: movement-first PvP
Illustrative level-75 allocation: 40 Mobility, 30 Conditioning, 6 Survival.
This template uses the full reported 40-point Mobility gate, reaches the first reported Conditioning end gate, and leaves six flexible points for Survival. It is a planning example derived from the published gates—not a statistically proven or officially endorsed build.
Why this split works
- Forty Mobility points let you plan around both reported end thresholds in the branch, giving movement-focused players the largest possible choice set there.
- Thirty Conditioning points reaches its first end gate, adding carrying or resilience utility without abandoning movement.
- Six Survival points provide a small amount of field utility but do not approach its reported 10-, 30- or 40-point milestones.
How to select the choices
- Spend Mobility points first until the branch reaches its 10-point middle choice. Compare the two options by asking which one helps your actual engagements: sustained sprinting, traversal speed, climbing, rolling, vaulting or a movement chain.
- Continue Mobility toward 30 points, then inspect the first end choice. Prefer the option that improves the movement sequence you use most often rather than a bonus that requires a situation you rarely create.
- At 40 Mobility, inspect the second end choice and keep the two end options that complement one another. If the choices overlap heavily, retain the one that works while wounded or carrying loot.
- Put the next 30 points into Conditioning if you regularly lose fights while overloaded or injured. Choose its middle and first end options only after reading their current descriptions.
- Place the remaining six points in Survival for baseline looting or crafting utility, or hold them until you know which branch needs a small adjustment.
What this build gives up
It does not reach Survival’s reported 30- or 40-point gates, so a loot-centered player will miss deeper searching, crafting, recycling or repair choices. It also leaves Conditioning short of its second end gate. Choose this split when repositioning and escape routes matter more than maximum field economy.

This version reaches Mobility’s first reported end gate and Conditioning’s second. It suits a player who wants enough traversal to move safely but expects the run to be defined by carrying valuable or heavy items and staying operational after damage.
Allocation order
- Invest 10 points in Mobility and select the middle option that best supports your normal route. A traversal or stamina choice is generally more relevant here than a benefit that only applies after looting.
- Raise Mobility to 30 before moving on if you want its first end-choice pool. Stop at 30 when the first end option supplies all the movement help you need.
- Spend 40 points in Conditioning. At 10 points, pick the middle option that matches your carrying pattern; at 30 and 40, inspect each newly available end choice and favor complementary resilience or encumbrance effects.
- Use the final six points in Survival for lightweight field utility. If those points would force an unwanted choice, leave them uncommitted until you have checked the live tree.
Trade-off
You do not reach Mobility’s second end gate or Survival’s deeper utility gates. This is a poor fit for a player whose main advantage comes from stealthy looting or in-raid repairs, but it is a reasonable framework when a successful extraction depends on carrying more and recovering from mistakes.
Build 3: loot-and-field-utility route
Illustrative level-75 allocation: 30 Mobility, 6 Conditioning, 40 Survival.
This template reaches Survival’s reported 40-point gate while retaining enough Mobility to reach its first end gate. It is designed for gathering, searching, crafting, recycling and repairing during a raid, with only a small Conditioning investment.
Allocation order
- Take Mobility to 10 and choose the middle skill that makes your route safer. Movement while carrying materials is usually more valuable than a purely combat-oriented option for this plan.
- Continue Mobility to 30 so you can inspect its first end choice. Select the option that protects your approach to containers or your exit route.
- Invest 40 points in Survival. At the 10-point middle choice, compare looting and field-crafting benefits; at 30 and 40, read the three-skill pools carefully because the strongest option depends on whether you search, craft, recycle or repair most often.
- Put the remaining six points into Conditioning only if they unlock a useful early description. Otherwise, do not reset simply to force a minor benefit.
Trade-off
Six Conditioning points do not reach its reported middle threshold, so this route sacrifices the branch’s deeper carry and resilience choices. It also stops Mobility at its first end gate. Select it when the value of more successful searches and field maintenance outweighs the ability to haul the largest load or absorb the most punishment.
How to build safely in the game
- Confirm the patch. Make sure you are playing the Frozen Trail 2.0 tree released October 8, 2026, rather than relying on screenshots or plans made for the previous layout.
- Write down your objective. Choose movement-first PvP, carrying and resilience, or looting and field utility. If you cannot name the objective, delay the end choices.
- Map your thresholds. Decide which branch, if any, should reach 30 or 40 points. A 40-point commitment leaves only 36 points for the other two branches at level 75.
- Spend toward the first 10-point choice. Read both middle options in the current client. Select only one; the alternative is not active at the same time.
- Pause at 30 points. Inspect the first end-choice pool before investing elsewhere. Confirm that its options actually support your route.
- Pause again at 40 points. Read the second end-choice pool and decide whether the additional commitment is better than distributing those points to another branch.
- Confirm the final six or fewer points. Use them to complete an early breakpoint, add flexible utility or remain unspent until a later run clarifies your needs.
- Record your choices. Save a screenshot or written list of the selected skills and the date. That makes it easier to rebuild after a patch or an experimental reset.
When to reset—and when not to
Reset when your role has changed, a patch has altered a skill that your plan depends on, or you selected the wrong side of a binary node. The current guide reports a full-reset cost of 2,000 Coins per point, so calculate the likely bill before confirming. At the reported 76-point maximum, a complete reset would be 152,000 Coins.
Rank #4
Do not reset merely because another player uses a different branch. No authoritative source currently establishes a skill-tree win rate, extraction percentage or universally optimal allocation. A build that improves one player’s traversal may be worse for a squad carrier or a solo looter.
Common mistakes and fixes
Following a pre-Frozen-Trail screenshot
Symptom: The node layout or skill names do not match the guide you saved.
Fix: Use the live Frozen Trail 2.0 tree and reread every description. The update reshuffled existing skills and added new ones, so old point plans are not reliable.
Spending 40 points without a purpose
Symptom: You unlock a second end choice but have too few points for the branch that actually solves your problem.
Fix: Treat 40 points as a deliberate commitment. Reach it only when the second end pool is more valuable than the 10 or more points you would otherwise place in another branch.
Assuming the binary node grants both skills
Symptom: You expect both middle effects to be active.

- Create a fully customizable hideaway for your growing Shinobi league, where you train recruits, craft new equipment and interact with important characters; set the room layout, decoration and accessories yourself
Fix: The redesigned middle node is one path with a choice of two. Select one and budget for a reset if you later want the other.
Choosing by label instead of behavior
Symptom: A skill sounds useful but rarely activates during your runs.
Fix: Match the description to a repeated action: sprinting and vaulting, carrying while encumbered, searching containers, crafting, recycling or repairing. If the trigger is uncommon in your route, it should not decide the branch.

Resetting after every disappointing run
Symptom: Coins disappear while the build changes constantly.
Fix: Test a plan across several runs and change only one branch objective at a time. The current guide-reported reset price makes frequent full rebuilds costly.
What is established—and what is not
The official update establishes the redesigned choice structure and warns that further tuning is likely. The 76-point level-75 total, 10-point middle threshold, 30- and 40-point end thresholds, and 2,000-Coins-per-point reset rate come from the October 2026 guide and should be treated as current reported values.
There is no authoritative statistic showing that one branch wins more fights or extracts more loot. PC Gamer’s Morgan Park wrote in an October 7, 2026 preview, “I focused on Mobility and Conditioning, and while it was nice to sprint for a long time without stopping, I can’t say the new abilities led to me playing Arc Raiders any differently than before.” That is one writer’s dated preview impression, not a controlled test or a verdict on every build.
