Build your Tower of Fantasy team around the activity and the weapons you own—not a universal tier list. For PvE, balance damage with shield breaking, charge and survival; in co-op, account for what the rest of the party brings. PvP needs a separate build, but current evidence does not establish a reliable best team for it.
What should your three-weapon team do?
Think of the three slots as a set of jobs to cover, rather than three places to put your highest-ranked weapons. A useful team plan accounts for damage, shield breaking, charge for weapon discharges, and survival. Which job matters most depends on the activity and encounter. The community-maintained Tower of Fantasy guide discusses shield breaking and charge as distinct composition considerations, and advises bringing at least one high-shatter weapon for enemies with difficult shields.

- Damage: Decide how the team will deal damage, and favor useful synergies among the weapons you own.
- Shield breaking: For shielded PvE enemies, check whether one of your weapons can break shields effectively.
- Charge: Consider whether your lineup can build charge so you can use weapon discharges when they matter.
- Survival and utility: Decide whether the activity calls for personal sustain, healing or mitigation, or a role that helps the group.
These are selection criteria, not a claim that one specific weapon currently performs best. Weapon strength changes with patches, and a generic tier list can become stale.
How to assemble a team from the weapons you own
- Name the activity. Separate solo progression, boss fights, group PvE and competitive PvP. Their demands are not interchangeable.
- Choose a damage plan. Start with weapons you own that work well together, including any useful elemental or role synergies. Do not discard a strong owned option just to imitate a generic ranking.
- Check shield breaking and charge. For shielded PvE encounters, include an appropriate shield-breaking option; also consider how the team will build charge for discharges.
- Fill the survival or utility gap. In solo play, consider whether you need more personal sustain. In difficult co-op, look at the party’s existing roles before deciding whether your team should add support or tank utility.
- Equip matrices you have. Treat matrices as a separate build layer: choose from your available sets rather than assuming a particular set is required for a weapon.
- Recheck after updates. Read the current in-game resonance descriptions and check current availability and mode rules before relying on a named build or ranking.
How to use role resonance
Attack, tank and support are distinct role archetypes, and resonance can influence which weapons make sense together. An older Tower of Fantasy Index guide describes matching two weapons of an archetype to activate its corresponding resonance, while a one-of-each lineup is a balanced alternative. Because that guide is older, treat its explanation as foundational rather than definitive: check the resonance text in your current client, and do not rely on old numerical bonuses. Use resonance to support your chosen activity, not as a substitute for checking the team’s actual jobs. A damage-oriented setup may suit solo progression, while a party missing support or tank utility may benefit more from role coverage than from adding another damage-focused weapon.
What changes between PvE and PvP?
PvE: build for the encounter
Compare weapons against the encounter you are actually facing. Shield breaking matters against shielded enemies; sustained damage, burst windows and area coverage can matter in other fights. For co-op, consider healing or mitigation and what teammates already contribute rather than assuming all three of your slots should be pure damage. The community-maintained free-to-play guide supports these general team-building considerations, but it does not establish a current character-by-character best team.

PvP: use a separate decision framework
Do not carry a PvE recommendation into competitive play without checking the current mode. PvP team choices should account for the mode’s rules, weapon balance, control and escape tools, survivability, and matchup coverage. The official version 6.3 announcement, published September 10, 2026, announced an update scheduled for September 15 (UTC+0); it does not establish current PvP rules or a strongest PvP composition. Check the client for later changes, and avoid treating a named “best team” as current without reliable, up-to-date competitive evidence.

A Simulacrum is associated with a weapon, but its optional passive and matrix setup are separate considerations. Matrices are a distinct build layer and are obtained separately from the associated weapon; the Tower of Fantasy Wiki’s matrices overview describes that system. Equip sets you actually own, but do not assume a current best-in-slot pairing without up-to-date build evidence.

The live Tower of Fantasy Index Simulacra reference lists recent roster additions, including Roslyn and Ji Yu. That illustrates why older character examples should not be mistaken for proof of today’s strongest team.
