How to Build a Hotel Booking Website With Wix Hotels | 3 Easy Steps

Creating a hotel booking website no longer requires custom development, complex reservation software, or technical experience. With Wix Hotels, you can build a professional site where guests can browse rooms, check availability, view rates, and complete reservations online.

The process comes down to three core stages: setting up your Wix hotel website, adding your rooms and booking rules, and publishing the site with payments and management tools in place. Once configured, your website can serve as both your digital storefront and your direct booking engine.

This guide walks beginners through the essentials of building a functional, guest-friendly hotel reservation website using Wix Hotels, so you can accept bookings online and manage your property with confidence.

Set Up Your Wix Hotel Website

Start by signing in to Wix and creating a new website for your property. If you are new to Wix, choose a hotel, bed and breakfast, vacation rental, villa, resort, or guesthouse template so the main structure is already close to what you need. These templates usually include pages for rooms, amenities, location, contact details, and bookings, which saves time compared with building everything from a blank canvas.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

After choosing a template, add Wix Hotels or Wix Hotels by HotelRunner from the Wix App Market, depending on the version available in your account and region. This app is what turns a standard website into a booking-ready hotel site. It gives you tools for listing rooms, showing availability, collecting reservations, managing rates, and accepting online payments. Once installed, Wix adds a booking element to your site and a hotel management area to your dashboard.

Before editing room details, set up the basic business information for your property. In your Wix dashboard, add your hotel name, address, phone number, email address, and business hours if relevant. Check that your location is accurate, especially if you plan to display a map or help guests find nearby attractions. You should also set your preferred language, currency, time zone, and regional settings so prices, dates, and booking details appear correctly for guests.

Build the core pages first

A simple hotel booking website does not need dozens of pages, but it should answer the main questions guests have before they reserve. Create or review the most useful pages before moving into room setup:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Home: Introduce your property, show a strong hero image, and add a clear booking button.
  • Rooms: Display room types, guest capacity, photos, amenities, and starting rates.
  • Amenities: List features such as Wi-Fi, breakfast, parking, pool access, spa services, or airport transfers.
  • Location: Add your address, map, transport details, and nearby landmarks.
  • Contact: Include a contact form, phone number, email address, and social links.
  • Policies: Explain check-in times, cancellation rules, pet policies, taxes, and extra fees.

Keep the navigation simple so visitors can move from browsing to booking without confusion. Use labels such as “Rooms,” “Book Now,” “Amenities,” and “Contact” rather than creative names that may slow guests down. Add a “Book Now” button in the header if your template does not already include one, and link it to your booking page or availability search section.

Finally, upload your main brand assets. Add your logo, choose brand colors, and use high-quality photos of your rooms, exterior, lobby, dining area, and special features. If you do not have professional photos yet, use bright, clean images taken in landscape format and avoid heavy filters. At this stage, your goal is to create a clear foundation: a Wix site with the hotel app installed, essential pages in place, and basic property details ready for room and booking configuration.

Add Rooms, Rates, and Availability

Once your Wix Hotels site is set up, the next step is to add the inventory guests will actually book: your rooms, nightly rates, and open dates. In your Wix dashboard, go to the hotel or booking management area and start by creating each room type you offer. For example, you might add a Standard Queen Room, Deluxe King Room, Family Suite, and Ocean View Room. Treat each listing as a room category rather than a single physical room, unless you only have one of that exact room available.

For every room type, enter the details guests need before making a reservation. Add the maximum number of guests, bed type, room size, bathroom details, and included amenities such as Wi-Fi, breakfast, air conditioning, parking, balcony access, or pet-friendly options. Upload clear photos from mulle angles, including the bed, bathroom, view, seating area, and any standout features. Strong room descriptions help reduce guest questions and make your booking page feel more trustworthy.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Set your room rates

After adding room details, configure pricing for each room type. Start with your standard nightly rate, then adjust pricing based on how your property operates. Wix Hotels lets you manage different prices for different rooms, so your suite can be priced higher than a basic room and premium views can carry an added cost. If your rates change by season, create separate pricing for high-demand periods such as holidays, weekends, summer travel, festivals, or local events.

  • Weekend rate: A higher or lower price for Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Seasonal rate: Special pricing for peak and off-peak travel periods.
  • Extra guest fee: An added charge when guests exceed the standard occupancy.
  • Minimum stay: A required number of nights for certain dates or room types.

Be as specific as possible when setting pricing rules. If your property requires a two-night stay on weekends or a three-night stay during holidays, add those restrictions before publishing. This prevents guests from booking stays that do not match your policies and saves you from manually correcting reservations later.

Manage availability and booking rules

Availability controls when each room can be booked. In your Wix Hotels calendar, mark rooms as available, blocked, or unavailable for maintenance, private use, renovations, or existing offline reservations. If you list your hotel on other platforms, keep your Wix calendar aligned so you do not accidentally accept two bookings for the same room. Regular calendar updates are especially useful for small hotels, inns, vacation rentals, and bed-and-breakfast properties with limited inventory.

You should also configure basic booking rules before moving on to payments. Set check-in and check-out times, cancellation terms, tax settings, service fees, and any deposit requirements. If guests need to book at least 24 hours in advance, or if you do not allow same-day reservations, add that rule in your booking settings. These details make your booking process clearer and help guests understand exactly what they are agreeing to before they confirm their stay.

Before continuing, preview your room listings as a guest. Check that each room has accurate photos, readable descriptions, correct rates, and realistic availability. A clean, complete room setup makes the rest of your hotel website easier to configure and gives visitors the confidence to book directly from your site.

Configure Online Bookings and Payments

Once your rooms, rates, and availability are in place, the next step is to make sure guests can reserve a stay and pay for it directly through your website. In Wix Hotels, most booking settings are managed from your site dashboard, where you can control how reservations are accepted, what information guests must provide, and which payment methods are available at checkout.

Start by opening your Wix dashboard and going to your hotel or booking management area. Review your reservation settings carefully, including check-in and check-out rules, minimum or maximum stay requirements, booking lead time, and cancellation terms. For example, you may want to prevent same-day bookings after 8 p.m., require a two-night minimum stay on weekends, or allow guests to cancel up to 48 hours before arrival. These settings help avoid scheduling problems and make your policies clear before a guest confirms a room.

Set Your Booking Rules

Your booking rules shape the guest experience from the moment someone selects a room. Make sure each rule matches how your property actually operates. A small bed and breakfast may prefer to manually approve requests, while a larger hotel may want instant confirmation for any available room. If Wix gives you the option, choose whether bookings are confirmed automatically or only after your approval. Automatic confirmation is usually best for a standard hotel booking website because it reduces friction and gives guests immediate confidence.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Check-in and check-out times: Add accurate arrival and departure times so guests know when rooms are available.
  • Stay restrictions: Set minimum nights for weekends, holidays, or peak seasons if needed.
  • Guest details: Collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, arrival notes, and special requests.
  • Cancellation policy: Display refund rules clearly before checkout to reduce disputes.
  • Taxes and fees: Add local taxes, cleaning fees, resort fees, or service charges where applicable.

Next, connect a payment provider so guests can pay online. Wix Payments is available in many regions and supports major credit and debit cards, but you can also connect other providers such as PayPal or supported third-party gateways depending on your location. In your payment settings, choose the methods you want to offer, complete any required business verification, and confirm your payout currency. If your property accepts deposits instead of full payment, set whether guests pay the full amount at booking, a percentage deposit, or pay later at the property.

  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.

Prepare the Checkout Experience

A smooth checkout page can increase completed reservations. Keep the process simple and transparent: show the selected room, dates, number of guests, nightly rate, taxes, fees, and total price before payment. Add short policy text near the final confirmation button so guests understand what they are agreeing to. You should also customize confirmation emails with your property name, address, contact number, check-in instructions, parking details, and any house rules guests need before arrival.

Before moving on, run a test booking from your live preview or test mode if available. Choose dates, select a room, enter guest information, and walk through the payment step to confirm that pricing, availability, taxes, and emails work as expected. A successful test helps you catch errors before real guests start booking and gives you confidence that your Wix hotel reservation system is ready for visitors.

Customize Your Hotel Website Design

After your rooms, rates, availability, and payments are in place, customize the design so guests can quickly understand what you offer and complete a booking with confidence. In the Wix editor, start with the main pages most hotel visitors expect: the homepage, rooms page, booking page, amenities page, gallery, contact page, and location page. Keep the navigation simple, with a visible Book Now button in the header so guests can start a reservation from anywhere on the site.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Use your homepage to show the strongest reasons to stay at your property. Add a large hero image of the hotel, a short headline, and a clear booking call to action above the fold. For example, a beachfront hotel might lead with an ocean-view room image and a button that says Check Availability. A city boutique hotel might highlight its central location, free breakfast, or rooftop bar. Avoid crowding this section with too much text; guests should immediately see what kind of stay they can expect.

Design the core guest experience pages

Your rooms page should make it easy to compare options. Use consistent room names, high-quality photos, short descriptions, and clear details such as bed type, maximum occupancy, room size, amenities, and cancellation terms. If Wix Hotels displays your room inventory through a booking widget or room list, match the surrounding page design to your brand colors and typography so the booking flow feels like part of the same website rather than a separate tool.

  • Gallery: Include bright, recent images of rooms, bathrooms, lobby areas, dining spaces, exterior views, and nearby attractions.
  • Amenities: List practical features such as Wi-Fi, parking, breakfast, pool access, airport transfers, pet policy, and accessibility options.
  • Location: Add a map, parking instructions, nearby landmarks, public transport details, and estimated travel times from airports or stations.
  • Contact: Display your phone number, email address, physical address, and reception hours. Add a contact form for pre-stay questions.

Pay close attention to mobile design, since many travelers browse and book from their phones. In the Wix mobile editor, check that images crop correctly, text is readable, buttons are easy to tap, and the booking widget does not require unnecessary scrolling. Keep mobile menus short, and place the Book Now button where guests can reach it quickly. Test the room selection and date picker on a phone-sized preview before publishing changes.

Finally, build trust throughout the design. Add guest reviews, star ratings if applicable, security badges near payment areas, and clear policies for check-in, check-out, deposits, cancellations, pets, and extra fees. Use consistent colors, spacing, and button styles across all pages. A polished Wix Hotels design should not only look attractive; it should answer guest questions before they ask and guide them smoothly from browsing to booking.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Connect Essential Hotel Management Tools

Once your rooms, rates, booking rules, and design are in place, connect the tools that help you run daily hotel operations from one dashboard. Wix Hotels is built to handle reservations directly on your website, but it becomes more useful when it works alongside your calendar, communication, accounting, and marketing systems. These integrations reduce manual admin work and help you respond faster when guests book, change plans, or ask questions.

Start by reviewing the hotel management features already available in your Wix dashboard. You can view upcoming reservations, edit guest details, block unavailable dates, adjust rates, and manage booking statuses without leaving Wix. This is where you will handle most routine tasks, such as confirming stays, checking occupancy, and updating room availability during busy periods. If you manage a small property, guesthouse, inn, or boutique hotel, these built-in tools may be enough to launch and operate your booking website.

Useful tools to connect before launch

  • Channel manager: If you list rooms on platforms such as Booking.com, Expedia, or Airbnb, connect a channel manager to keep availability synchronized and reduce the risk of double bookings.
  • Google Calendar or external calendars: Calendar syncing helps you track arrivals, departures, blocked dates, and housekeeping schedules more easily.
  • Email notifications: Set up automated emails for booking confirmations, cancellations, payment updates, and pre-arrival instructions so guests receive clear information without manual follow-up.
  • Customer relationship tools: Use Wix Contacts or a connected CRM to store guest information, segment past visitors, and send targeted offers for repeat stays.
  • Analytics tools: Connect Wix Analytics and, if needed, Google Analytics to monitor traffic, booking conversions, popular room pages, and the sources that bring in guests.
  • Marketing tools: Add email campaigns, social media integrations, and promotional popups to support seasonal offers, discount codes, and direct booking incentives.

If you accept online payments, connect your payment provider and make sure your booking records, invoices, and transaction details are easy to reconcile. Wix Payments may be available depending on your location, and you can also use supported third-party providers. For smoother accounting, export booking and payment data regularly or connect compatible finance tools where available. This is especially helpful if you collect deposits, charge cleaning fees, handle refunds, or apply local taxes.

You should also set up guest communication tools that make the booking experience feel professional. Add a contact form, live chat, or Wix Inbox so visitors can ask about late check-in, parking, accessibility, pet policies, or special requests before reserving. Automated replies can cover common questions, while manual responses let you handle more specific requests. A clear communication setup can prevent abandoned bookings and reduce repetitive messages.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Finally, organize permissions if mulle people help manage the property. In your Wix account settings, invite team members and assign roles based on what they need to access. For example, a front desk manager may need reservation access, while a marketing assistant may only need access to email campaigns and site updates. Keeping permissions focused protects guest data and keeps your hotel website easier to manage as your team grows.

Publish and Test Your Booking Website

Before you share your Wix Hotels site with guests, run through the full booking journey as if you were making a real reservation. Click Preview in the Wix editor and check your homepage, rooms page, booking calendar, contact page, policies, and mobile layout. Make sure your hotel name, address, phone number, email, check-in and check-out times, cancellation terms, taxes, and fees are easy to find. If you connected a custom domain, confirm that it points to the correct Wix site and that your SSL certificate is active so guests see a secure connection.

Next, place a test booking from start to finish. Choose a room, select dates, add guest details, review the price, and continue to checkout. If your payment provider offers test mode, use it to confirm that deposits, full payments, taxes, service fees, and confirmation emails work correctly. If you accept offline payments, check that the guest receives clear instructions for paying at the property, by bank transfer, or by another approved method. Review the reservation inside your Wix dashboard to confirm the booking appears with the correct room, dates, guest count, price, and payment status.

Pre-launch checks to complete

  • Test room availability: Try booking available and unavailable dates to confirm the calendar blocks sold-out rooms properly.
  • Review automated emails: Check booking confirmations, cancellation messages, and payment receipts for accurate wording and branding.
  • Check mobile booking: Complete a test reservation on a phone, since many travelers book from mobile devices.
  • Verify policies: Make cancellation rules, minimum stays, pet policies, extra guest fees, and local taxes clear before checkout.
  • Inspect images: Confirm room photos load quickly, look sharp, and match the correct room types.
  • Test contact options: Submit your contact form, click your phone number, and test map directions.

After testing, publish the site from the Wix editor and open the live version in a separate browser window. Repeat the most checks on the published website, not only in preview mode. Search engines and guests will interact with the live site, so confirm that buttons, menus, booking widgets, and payment pages work outside the editor. If you added tracking tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or Wix Analytics, visit a few pages and submit a test booking or form to confirm activity is being recorded.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Once everything works, keep your website updated from the Wix dashboard. Add new photos when rooms are renovated, adjust seasonal rates, block maintenance dates, and review reservations daily. If you use channel management or calendar sync, monitor the first few bookings carefully to avoid double bookings. A hotel booking website is not finished after launch; it becomes more useful as you refine prices, improve room descriptions, respond to guest questions, and keep availability accurate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I take direct hotel bookings on Wix without using a third-party booking site?

Yes, Wix Hotels lets you accept direct reservations through your own website, so guests can choose rooms, dates, and rates without going through an OTA. You can manage availability, booking details, and guest information from your Wix dashboard. This helps reduce reliance on commission-based platforms like Booking.com or Expedia.

Do I need coding skills to build a hotel booking website with Wix Hotels?

No, Wix Hotels is designed for beginners and does not require coding. You can choose a hotel website template, add your property details, upload room photos, and configure bookings using Wix’s visual editor. Most setup tasks are handled through forms, toggles, and drag-and-drop tools.

Can guests pay online when they book a room through my Wix hotel website?

Yes, you can connect payment providers through Wix Payments or other supported options, depending on your location. This allows guests to pay in full, leave a deposit, or complete payment according to the booking settings you choose. You should also set clear cancellation, refund, and tax rules before publishing your site.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How do I stop double bookings if I list my rooms on other travel websites?

Wix Hotels can connect with channel management tools that sync availability across platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com, or Expedia. This helps keep your room inventory updated when a reservation is made on another site. Before going live, test the connection carefully to make sure dates and room counts update correctly.

What should I test before publishing my Wix hotel booking website?

Test the full guest booking process from room search to confirmation, including date selection, pricing, taxes, payment, and email notifications. Check the site on mobile devices because many travelers book from phones. You should also review room descriptions, policies, contact details, and availability settings to make sure guests see accurate information.

Bottom Line

Building a hotel booking website with Wix Hotels is a beginner-friendly way to get your property online without touching code. Once your site is set up, your rooms are added, and your booking, payment, and availability settings are configured, guests can easily browse, reserve, and pay from one polished place.

Your next step is to preview the full booking journey like a guest, test your payment setup, and make sure every room detail, photo, and policy is accurate. When everything looks right, publish your site and start managing reservations directly from your Wix dashboard.
