A useful GTA VI evidence index should keep each claim, its supporting evidence, and its source in separate linked records. That makes it possible to see what a source actually establishes, when the information was current, which platform or locale it applies to, and whether a later announcement superseded it. The model below is an editorial proposal—not an official Rockstar API or data schema.
What should a GTA VI evidence index track?
Start with a claim, not a page. One source can support several claims, and one claim can have several sources with different dates, scopes, or levels of authority. Stable identifiers let you update a claim without erasing its earlier wording or the evidence behind it.

- Claim: the concise assertion a writer may publish.
- Source: the page, announcement, or media asset that may support the assertion.
- Evidence: the passage, image, or timestamp that connects the source to the claim.
- Localization: the original wording and any translated derivative, each with its own locale and review status.
- Change history: what changed, when, and why, including the source that prompted the change.
Keep identifiers stable even when a claim changes. A claim ID should identify the editorial subject; a source ID should identify a particular source record; an evidence ID should identify the specific passage or asset used. Do not make the source URL itself the only identifier: URLs can change, and a source may support multiple claims.

Claim records
For each claim, store a stable claim_id, concise text, status, first-seen and last-checked timestamps, scope, platform, locale, and linked source_id values. Use a small controlled status set such as current, superseded, and unresolved. Scope should say what the statement applies to—for example, a release date, a particular platform’s code redemption, or a language list on a named store page.

Source records
Each source record should include a stable source_id, publisher or owner, title, canonical URL, source type, published or updated date when available, access timestamp, locale, and a short scope or limitation note. Keep announcement dates distinct from access dates: the date a writer checked a page does not establish when the page’s information first appeared.
Evidence records
Record an evidence_id, the exact relevant passage or a specific asset description, page location or media timestamp when applicable, linked claim, and a note saying whether the source states the claim directly or the claim is an editorial inference. A trailer frame may substantiate something visible in that frame; it does not establish every detail of the story or game.
Rockstar’s official media hub is a useful seed for records of trailers, clips, screenshots, artwork, and wallpapers. Link an asset to the narrow claim it supports, rather than treating the whole media library as proof of a broader assertion.

How do you keep an index current when official claims change?
Preserve old values as history instead of silently overwriting them. For example, Take-Two’s May 6, 2025 announcement gave May 26, 2026 as the then-current GTA VI release target. Rockstar’s store listing and Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 pre-order announcement subsequently gave November 19, 2026. An index should retain both dated claims, mark the earlier one superseded, and identify the later official sources supporting the current listing.
As of the Rockstar store listing and Take-Two announcement checked on October 7, 2026, the stated release date is November 19, 2026, with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S purchase options. A practical change-history entry can preserve the old text, new text, source date, and reason for change. For a release-date update, for example, the reason would be that a later official listing or announcement replaced the earlier target—not that the earlier source never existed. This approach also helps distinguish a genuine contradiction from ordinary changes over time.

Which sources should carry the most weight?
- Current Rockstar support, store, product, and Newswire pages: prefer these for current platform, edition, format, region, and product details.
- Take-Two investor announcements: use these as official corporate announcements, preserving each announcement’s date and wording.
- Official media assets: use these for visual or audible details they directly establish.
- Third-party reporting: include it only when needed, label it clearly, and do not let a search-result snippet outrank the underlying page.
Rockstar’s support page on platforms, editions, and versions is the direct source for its platform, physical-format, pre-load, and code-region guidance. The Rockstar Newswire announcement corroborates the June 2026 pre-order information. Store pages and announcements can change, so retain the title and date checked along with the URL.

How should the index record editions, platforms, and code restrictions?
Keep product format and platform-specific redemption guidance in separate, narrowly scoped claims. Rockstar says the boxed physical version contains a download code and no disc; its support page says it is expected to be available for shipping and pickup from November 12, 2026, to support pre-loading. Do not index or describe that product as a disc edition.
For code redemption, Rockstar says PlayStation redemption depends on the region associated with the platform account and recommends buying from a retailer in the account holder’s country to avoid activation problems. Its support page says Xbox codes purchased are not region-locked. These claims are not interchangeable: attach the PlayStation restriction to PlayStation and the Xbox statement to Xbox, and link each to the relevant Rockstar support guidance.
Rockstar’s official story description says the game is set in Vice City and across Leonida, and names Jason and Lucia. Keep those as separate claims with the official GTA VI page as their source. Do not extend them into unsourced assertions about map boundaries, gameplay, or plot.

Rockstar’s store listed the following game languages when checked on October 7, 2026. Keep every variant as its own value; the list does not establish that every page, asset, or future update is available in every language.

The locale tags above are a recommended representation, not an official Rockstar schema. Store the source-language wording in its original locale. A translation should be a separate derivative record with its own provenance and review status; never overwrite the original or translate an unchecked phrase by inference. Preserve proper names and product titles consistently. If localized pages differ, record both versions and compare their exact wording, date, and scope before deciding whether they conflict. Recheck the store’s language list before relying on it for a later update.
What belongs in an API plan—and what does not?
A targeted search of official Rockstar pages accessed October 7, 2026 did not locate public GTA VI API documentation. That bounded finding is not proof that no private or future API exists. Do not invent endpoints, response formats, authentication requirements, rate limits, or API availability.
The index can still be made useful to a writing team through an internal export or a documented API the publisher builds. Such an interface should return stable claim and source IDs, source URLs, update dates, and explicit locale values. If official API documentation appears later, track it as a separate integration record with its owner, version, access conditions, timestamps, and exact documentation URL. Until then, Rockstar’s public pages and media assets are the evidence layer.
How can dated numbers and quotations be indexed responsibly?
Dates and attribution belong with a number, not in a footnote detached from it. Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 announcement described Rockstar as having sold in over 470 million units worldwide; its May 6, 2025 announcement reported over 440 million units sold in worldwide. These are dated corporate figures about Rockstar’s reported sales, not GTA VI sales. Preserve each figure with its publisher, date, and scope; do not combine them or present either as a current GTA VI sales total. Sources: June 24, 2026 and May 6, 2025.
