You can build a 24/7 Malayalam music channel by preparing a rights-cleared playlist, sending it to YouTube Live through an encoder, and keeping the feed monitored with a recovery plan. A YouTube playlist page is not itself a live broadcast: viewers need a continuous live feed, and permission to listen to songs—or a consumer music subscription—does not automatically grant permission to rebroadcast them.

1. Clear the rights to the recordings before building the stream
YouTube’s livestream terms require creators to have the necessary rights to exploit the content they broadcast, including relevant music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. The terms do not determine which rights apply to a particular Malayalam recording or territory. - Which specific sound recordings and compositions you may broadcast. A song title alone does not identify every recording or rights holder.
- Which territories the permission covers, including where viewers may access the stream.
- Whether livestreaming, monetization and an archived replay are allowed. Treat each as a separate permission question.
- How the rights holder will handle Content ID, including whether it will add your channel to its allowlist before launch.
Keep the written permissions and any operational instructions accessible to the people responsible for the channel. YouTube says a licensed stream can still be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel. 2. Check whether the channel can go live
YouTube’s current getting-started guidance requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days; it also says streamers must be at least 16 years old. Eligibility details can change, so check YouTube’s current instructions before scheduling a launch. YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder and console methods. 3. Prepare the playlist and visual feed
Assemble an authorized program
Build the program only from recordings and visuals covered by your permissions. Decide the order, transitions and whether the sequence will repeat. Test the playlist end to end for gaps, abrupt transitions, clipping, unexpected silence and any inserted material that is not cleared. YouTube does not prescribe a playlist file format or a particular automation product for this setup.

Choose what viewers see
A music livestream still sends video. Prepare a visual loop, artwork or other imagery you have permission to use, and check that it matches the audio duration and plays continuously. Do not assume that artwork, music-video footage or a visualizer is free to rebroadcast just because the audio is licensed.

4. Choose how to keep the feed running
The main choices differ in how much infrastructure and monitoring you operate yourself. YouTube’s guidance covers encoder and network setup, but does not certify particular vendors or dedicated hardware for uninterrupted 24/7 use.

5. Configure YouTube Live and the encoder
- Open Live Control Room and create or configure the live stream. Choose the event and stream settings that fit your channel and workflow. YouTube documents scheduled streams and reusable stream settings. YouTube Help: Manage your live stream settings
- Copy the stream key into the encoder. Treat a stream key like a password: do not publish it or share it unnecessarily. Reset it if you believe it has been exposed. Confirm that the encoder is sending to the intended YouTube event.
- Select a supported protocol and video settings. YouTube’s current encoder guidance covers RTMP/RTMPS and supported codecs including H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1 in applicable contexts; it recommends RTMPS for secure transmission. Use the current official table for bitrate recommendations matching your resolution, frame rate and protocol rather than treating one bitrate as universal. - Check the whole audio/video path. Confirm the video resolution and frame rate, audio is audible and unclipped, and the program transitions as intended. Follow YouTube’s current encoder recommendations for keyframes and other settings, since guidance can change.
- Test upload capacity with headroom. YouTube recommends planning outbound bandwidth for the primary stream plus backup and 20% headroom. This is YouTube’s recommendation, not a guarantee that a connection will stay up. Run a speed test and use a reliable connection; a disruption can break the stream. 6. Rehearse the launch and plan ongoing monitoring
YouTube’s event-oriented streaming tips recommend configuring an encoder at least two hours before an event and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start. They also recommend previewing in Live Control Room, testing failover, verifying access from channel and watch pages and mobile, checking archive files, and monitoring audio and video quality. - Watch the Live Control Room preview and verify the public viewing experience from a separate device or browser.
- Test the planned recovery procedure rather than assuming the stream will restart itself.
- Assign a person or alerting workflow to respond to encoder, network, rights and platform interruptions.
- Check that the stream remains healthy after playlist transitions and during any planned repeat.

YouTube scans livestreams for third-party content. A match can trigger a warning; if the material remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. A stream archive may also receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast ends. YouTube says a licensed stream can be interrupted even when restricted to territories where the creator has rights if the channel is not on the owner’s allowlist.
