To restrict a child’s access to websites on a supported Galaxy device, start with Settings > Samsung account > Family > child profile > Web content. For Chrome, use Google Family Link instead. These controls differ from Samsung Browser’s warnings about unsafe sites and its ad blockers, which do not create a parent-managed website block list.
Choose the control that matches what you want to restrict
| Goal | Use | Scope and restriction style |
|---|---|---|
| Restrict websites in Samsung Internet for a child | Samsung account Family > child profile > Web content | Child Samsung account; choose among allowing all sites, allowing only selected sites, or trying to block explicit sites. Availability depends on region and software support. |
| Manage websites in Chrome for a child | Google Family Link | Supervised child Google account; block selected sites, allow only approved sites, or try to filter explicit sites in Chrome. |
| Give a child a managed browsing environment | Samsung Kids, including My Browser | Child-oriented environment with browsing parents can control and monitor; Samsung does not describe this as a general website-by-website block list for every Galaxy user. |
| Warn about potentially unsafe pages | Samsung Browser Safe Browsing | Browser security warnings, not a custom parental block list. |
Block or limit sites in Samsung Internet with a child profile
Samsung’s family controls are intended for a child account and Samsung Internet. If the child uses another browser, this setting may not govern that browser. Samsung UK documents the route as Settings > Samsung account > Family > child profile > Web content. Open the child’s Web content controls and choose the restriction mode offered on the device.

Pick the restriction mode
- Allow all sites: does not restrict access with a parent-selected list.
- Allow only sites you choose: an allowlist approach; the child can visit sites selected by the parent.
- Try to block explicit sites: attempts to filter explicit content. It is not the same as manually blocking a specific site, and the wording indicates an attempted filter rather than a guarantee.
Samsung’s UK guide describes these options for Samsung Internet. Eligibility guidance varies by region: Samsung’s U.S. family-controls page refers to Galaxy devices running One UI 5.1 or higher, while Samsung UK’s Galaxy for Families guidance says One UI 6.1 or higher. Check Samsung support for your country and the options shown in your own Settings menu rather than treating either threshold as universal. See Samsung UK’s Galaxy for Families setup guide, Samsung U.S. family controls guidance, and the Samsung UK parental controls guide.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsManage websites in Chrome with Google Family Link
For a child using Chrome under a supervised Google account, open Family Link app > child > Controls > Google Chrome and Web. Choose the available mode: allow all sites except those you block, try to block explicit sites, or only allow approved sites. Add individual entries under Blocked sites or Approved sites.

Family Link distinguishes a website address from a domain. An entry such as www.google.com does not automatically cover differently prefixed or suffixed sites; a domain entry applies across related site variants. Use the entry type that matches the scope you intend to restrict. These settings concern the supervised account’s Chrome experience and should not be assumed to control other browsers on the device.
Family Link requires a supervised child account, and setup and availability depend on account, device, and country requirements. Google’s instructions are at Chrome and your child’s Google Account and Get started with Family Link.

Use Samsung Kids for a child-focused browsing environment
Samsung Kids provides a managed environment that includes My Browser, which Samsung describes as safe browsing that parents can control and monitor. It can suit a child who should browse within a child-oriented setup, but Samsung’s documentation does not present My Browser as a general site-by-site allow/block control available to every Galaxy user. Samsung’s setup information is in Samsung Kids on a Galaxy phone or tablet.
What Safe Browsing, ad blockers, and Secure Wi-Fi actually do
Safe Browsing
Samsung Browser’s Safe Browsing warns about unsafe websites. Samsung places it in the browser’s Settings > Security and privacy area. A security warning feature is not a parent-curated list for blocking chosen websites. See Samsung’s Samsung Browser instructions.

Content and ad blockers
Samsung Browser supports third-party apps certified by Samsung, available through Tools > Ad blockers. These are intended to prevent unnecessary content; they are not equivalent to selecting websites for a child to access or block. Samsung explains the feature in its Samsung Browser FAQ.
Secure Wi-Fi
Secure Wi-Fi offers encryption and tracking-app blocking for public Wi-Fi, with availability limits. It is a connection-privacy feature, not a control for choosing which websites are accessible. Details are in Samsung’s Secure Wi-Fi guide.
Quick Recap
Rank #4
- Corner to corner Wi-Fi coverage for homes up to 1,500 square feet and up to 866 Mbps at 5 GHz + 400 Mbps at 2.4 GHz (AC1300) Actual coverage will vary based on home construction and layout
- A smarter router with Smart Home hub functionality that easily connects compatible cameras, lights, voice assistants and more
- Set-Up in minutes, and keeps your Wi-Fi network safe and secure.
- Product not supported outside the U.S.
If a website is still accessible
- Check which browser is being used. Samsung Internet Family web controls and Chrome Family Link controls apply to their documented browser contexts; another browser may not be covered.
- Check the child profile and account. Samsung’s Web content route is part of a child profile in Samsung account Family. Family Link’s Chrome controls require the child’s supervised Google account.
- Check the restriction mode. “Try to block explicit sites” is a content filter, not a direct entry for a particular URL. For a specific website, use a blocked entry where the applicable control offers one, or use an allow-only mode.
- Check the entry’s scope in Family Link. A website entry may not cover related addresses; use a domain entry when you intend to include related site variants.
- Check local software support. Samsung’s stated One UI requirements differ between its U.S. and UK guidance. If Web content is missing, consult the support page for your region and confirm the device’s software and account configuration.
