On Mac
- In the menu bar, choose File > Manage Blocked Channels & Topics.
- Remove the channel or topic from the list and confirm Unblock.
Choose the control that matches what you want
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Block Channel or Block Topic | Blocks a publication or topic from the rest of your feed. Apple notes that a blocked channel can still appear in Top Stories, which “appear the same for everyone.” |
| Stop Suggesting | Stops Apple News from suggesting a channel or topic in Today without blocking it. |
| Suggest Less | Gives feedback on an individual story so Apple News will show fewer stories like it. |
| Suggest More | Gives feedback on an individual story so Apple News will show more stories like it. |
| Restrict Stories in Today | A broader setting that Apple says “significantly limits the variety” in the Today feed and removes Top Stories and Trending Stories. |
Use blocking when you want to exclude a source or subject, Stop Suggesting when you only want to remove its recommendations, and story feedback when your preference concerns a particular article or its subject. Restrict Stories in Today changes the feed more broadly. Apple explains these choices in its iPhone guide to stories chosen for you.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Why a blocked source may still appear
A blocked channel can still appear in Top Stories because Apple says that section is the same for everyone; the source remains blocked in the rest of the feed. Apple’s Mac guide also says blocking is not supported in Top Stories and other groups curated by Apple News editors. If a headline appears in one of those areas, that does not necessarily mean the block failed.
Apple News and Apple News+ availability varies by country or region; Apple’s guide to getting started with News on iPhone notes that they are not available everywhere.
