To become a Mangler in Warzone’s Haunted Hollow, complete the Research Center ghost hunt: collect the EMF Reader, use it to locate three spirits, and shoot each one with a thermal-optic weapon. The third hit drops a Mutant Injection; pick it up and activate it for a temporary Mangler transformation.

This Easter egg is described for Haunted Hollow, the re-themed Haven’s Hollow map in Season 06. Activision’s announcement says Season 06 launched September 17, 2026, and identifies Haunted Hollow as a re-themed Haven’s Hollow map: Season 06 announcement.

- You need an EMF Reader and a weapon with a thermal optic.
- You can bring a thermal-optic weapon in your loadout, or pick up the reported Voyak KT-3 assault rifle inside the Research Center.
- The Research Center may be contested by other Operators. Watching nearby entrances is tactical advice, not a requirement for the Easter egg.
The locations and mechanics below come from a secondary walkthrough, not an official Activision guide. Playlist availability and whether the Easter egg appears in every match are not established. Raven Software’s September 30, 2026 patch notes mention a fix for a HUD overlap issue while Mutant Injection was active; that confirms a related fix, not universal availability. Warzone patch notes
How to complete the Research Center ghost hunt
1. Collect the EMF Reader
Go to the building southeast of the Research Center and enter the server room on the bottom floor. The walkthrough places the EMF Reader on a desk in a corner. Picking it up occupies your Tactical slot. AllThingsHow’s walkthrough

2. Get a thermal-optic weapon
On the upper floor of the main Research Center, look near a whiteboard in the central southern area for the reported Voyak KT-3 with a thermal optic. A thermal-optic weapon from your loadout can work instead, so the floor weapon is an alternative rather than a required pickup.
3. Track a spirit with the EMF Reader
Equip the EMF Reader and move through the Research Center. The walkthrough reports that its signal rises from Low to Medium to High as you get closer. A reading of 9.99 indicates that the spirit is in the room.

4. Find the spirit and shoot it
At the maximum reading, the room goes dark. Switch to the thermal-optic weapon and search for a glowing particle effect around an object; the spirit may not appear as a human-shaped figure. Shoot the object. According to the walkthrough, the spirit relocates after being hit.
5. Repeat until you have hit three spirits
Use the EMF Reader to find and shoot three spirits in total. Each search has a limited window. If time runs out, a jump scare occurs and the spirit moves, so track it again with the reader. The walkthrough does not state the exact time limit.

6. Pick up and activate the Mutant Injection
After the third hit, the hunt ends and loot that includes the Mutant Injection drops. Pick up the syringe and activate it. A short animation transforms you into a Mangler temporarily. The reported attacks include explosive shots from the cannon arm, sickle melee attacks, and a sprint attack. The walkthrough gives no exact transformation duration. AllThingsHow’s walkthrough

The Mangler form is a temporary reward from the Easter egg, not a permanent Operator selection. The available walkthrough describes the attacks but does not establish an exact duration, so plan to use the form while it lasts rather than relying on a specific number of seconds.
