This guide separates confirmed preview information from legacy mechanics. When the remake’s final game differs, keep the method—position first, wait for a safe cycle, then make a committed input—but follow the timer, target order, and prize shown in your copy.

What the tougher remake is confirmed to change
GamesRadar’s October 16, 2026 report says the remake includes “a new, harder version of the target shooting game where you have much less time to hit the targets.” A hands-on preview published October 14 adds that the Castle Town shooting gallery now “ramps up in difficulty rather than throwing you in at the deep end.” The preview also describes the Slingshot’s gyro controls as smooth and usable for precision aiming.
Those statements establish a harder target-shooting experience, but they do not establish a universal timer, a replacement target order, a new prize table, or a second Bombchu Bowling layout. Use the following distinction when planning:

Prepare before paying for an attempt
Preparation matters more when a remake shortens the window. Entering with the right age, equipment, camera habits, and rupee reserve prevents a difficult minigame from becoming an avoidable sequence of resets.
Use the correct Link form
Bombchu Bowling and the child Shooting Gallery are child-only activities. The adult Shooting Gallery and Gerudo horseback archery require adult Link. The original roster also includes the Treasure Chest Game, Talon’s Cucco game, Zora diving, Lost Woods ocarina and target games, and Malon’s obstacle course. If your goal is a complete minigame run, group activities by age instead of repeatedly changing forms.
Bring enough rupees for practice
The original Shooting Gallery entry costs 20 rupees, while Bombchu Bowling costs 30. Those prices are useful budgeting baselines, not a guarantee that the remake uses identical fees. Keep a reserve large enough for several attempts, especially while you are learning hazard timing rather than merely collecting a first clear.

Set up a repeatable camera position
Before launching a Slingshot or Bombchu, center Link relative to the lane or target area. A stable starting position turns each attempt into a comparable drill. If you begin from a different angle every time, it becomes difficult to tell whether a miss came from timing, aim, or camera drift.
Choose one primary control method
Gyro aiming can make tiny corrections quick, but motion input is not automatically faster for every player. Start with the control method that lets you hold the reticle still. If gyro causes large overcorrections, disable it or use the stick for broad movement and gyro only for the final adjustment. Do not switch methods halfway through a timed attempt unless the current method is clearly causing misses.

How to clear the Shooting Gallery
The original game asks for all 10 targets within 15 shots for a 20-rupee entry fee. That leaves only five misses. A remake variant with less time makes the same shot discipline even more important: the limiting resource is not only ammunition but also the seconds spent moving the camera.
Child Link: memorize the fixed sequence
In the original Castle Town gallery, the child pattern is fixed. Stand ready for the next spawn point, place the reticle there before the rupee appears, and fire as soon as the target becomes available. The goal is to remove camera travel from the critical path. A good run looks like a chain of prepared shots rather than ten separate searches.
- Watch one complete cycle without firing so you can identify every spawn location.
- On the next attempt, hold the camera near the next location while finishing the current shot.
- Fire immediately when the rupee appears; do not wait for the reticle to become visually perfect if it is already aligned.
- After a miss, return to the next known spawn point instead of chasing the missed target.
- Repeat until the order is automatic, then practice the same route with shorter pauses to simulate the reported harder version.
Pre-positioning is more valuable than rapid camera movement. If the remake changes the exact order, the same drill still works: observe the cycle, map the new positions, and replace memory of the old route with memory of the new one.
Adult Link: use a controlled sweep
The original Kakariko pattern is random, so memorizing one sequence is unreliable. Use a stable sweep across the active target area and prioritize the target that is already visible and closest to your current reticle. The purpose of the sweep is consistency: you want to cover the field without repeatedly crossing the same empty space.
- Begin from the same camera orientation every attempt.
- Move in one direction until the visible target is secured, then reverse or continue according to the next target’s position.
- Favor a target you can hit cleanly over a speculative shot at the edge of the screen.
- Keep your reticle near the likely next area while the current shot resolves.
- Practice the rhythm of scan, align, fire, and relocate rather than trying to predict a random order.
If the remake introduces a tighter adult timer, shorten the scan rather than making the reticle move faster than you can control. A smooth, repeatable sweep usually preserves more time than a sequence of wide camera swings followed by corrections.

Aim slightly above the reticle center
GameWith notes that Deku Seeds land slightly below the center of the reticle. Raise your aim a little when lining up a target. Make this a small, consistent offset; large upward movements create a new error and waste the shot budget.
Use gyro for micro-adjustments, not frantic steering
The hands-on preview found the Slingshot’s gyro controls smooth and usable for precision aiming. That is evidence that gyro can help, not proof that it is universally faster. Test it during an untimed observation attempt. If a small wrist movement settles the reticle without overshooting, keep it enabled. If you find yourself correcting left, then right, then left again, return to stick aiming or combine stick movement for the broad sweep with gyro for the final pixel-level adjustment.
Protect the shot budget
Ten targets in 15 original shots means five misses are available. Do not spend those misses on shots taken before a target is fully exposed or while the camera is still moving. If your rhythm breaks—because of a missed target, an accidental camera turn, or uncertainty about the next spawn—reset your mental sequence and take the next clean shot. In a shorter-timer remake variant, a deliberate reset is preferable to a chain of speculative attempts that consumes both time and ammunition.
Practice drills that reveal the real problem
- Route drill: complete the child pattern while concentrating only on moving the reticle to the next spawn point.
- Accuracy drill: ignore speed and count how many shots land with the slight upward aim correction.
- Transition drill: fire, then immediately place the reticle at the next location before the current target disappears.
- Pressure drill: once accuracy is reliable, shorten your pauses to rehearse the remake’s reported reduced time.
- Recovery drill: intentionally allow one miss, then continue from the next target without chasing the error. This teaches you to preserve the remaining shot budget.
How to beat Bombchu Bowling
Bombchu Bowling is a child-only Castle Town activity. The original fee is 30 rupees, and the objective is three successful holes within 10 shots. The dependable method is to solve the lane, not the moving hazard: wait for the trap and animals to clear, then make one committed launch.
Stage 1: centered launch after the spike passes
Stand directly in front of the center hole. Watch the horizontal spiked trap cross the middle of the lane. Release just after it passes the center. Launching while the trap is crossing forces the Bombchu into an avoidable collision; launching too early can also put the timing out of phase with the next obstacle movement.

Stage 2: match the launch to the hole
For a left hole, stand slightly left of center and angle up-left. For a center hole, use the straight launch, but wait until both the trap and the Cucco have cleared the lane. The key is to adjust Link’s starting line before the release rather than steering after the Bombchu is already moving.
Stage 3: return to the centered line
Use the centered launch again. Release only after the trap has passed and neither Cucco is occupying the lane. A centered setup makes the final stage easier to repeat, while waiting for both moving hazards prevents a technically correct line from being ruined by interference.
Why waiting beats chasing
Bombchu Bowling rewards a single committed launch during a safe interval. Chasing a moving target or releasing during an uncertain cycle usually produces a miss that teaches you little. Watch the hazard long enough to recognize its rhythm, then act at the same point in that rhythm on every attempt.
Manage the 10-shot allowance
The original three-hole objective within 10 shots leaves room for some errors, but not for constant experimentation. Use the first attempt to confirm which hole and hazard cycle are active, then apply the corresponding line. If a launch fails because a Cucco entered the lane, do not immediately repeat the same timing; wait for the next clear interval. If the remake tightens the timing, preserve the same geometry and reduce the tolerance around the release moment rather than inventing a new angle without evidence.

When you first enter each shop, read the posted rules and the result screen. Record the fee, target count, timer or shot limit, and prize shown in your game. That local information outranks an older guide if the remake has changed a value.

How to verify remake-only rules at launch
Because the available reports are previews, verify every value that affects a purchase or completion attempt:
- Open the minigame’s sign, clerk dialogue, or instruction screen.
- Write down the entry fee, number of targets or holes, and whether the limit is time, shots, or both.
- Check whether the target pattern is described as fixed, random, or progressive.
- Confirm the control options and test gyro in a non-critical attempt.
- Read the result screen after a clear, including whether the prize is one-time, random, or repeatable.
- If a later patch changes a timer or prize, follow the current in-game text rather than an older strategy description.
Until those values are visible in the final release, the reliable preparation is mechanical: memorize what is fixed, sweep what is random, aim slightly high with the Slingshot, and wait for Bombchu hazards to leave a clean lane. Those habits remain useful even if Nintendo changes the numbers around them.
