Check that the challenge is still available
Supercell scheduled the Portal Challenge for October 6–13, 2026, and said it was open to every Town Hall. The dates and eligibility appear in its October season announcement. Because this is a timed event, check the in-game Event Hub for its current status and remaining time; Supercell Support says the hub also lists upcoming events. See Supercell’s Event Hub guidance.

Why the Totem Throwers matter
Supercell describes Totem Throwers as ground-targeting ranged troops. Their first attack, and every fourth attack after that, throws a totem instead of a rock; the totem stuns nearby defenses and summons a Tiny Totem decoy where it lands. That can disrupt defenses while your main group advances. The mechanic is described in the official season announcement; the deployment plan below comes from a separate guide.
Use a concentrated push, then split the attack
The sequence below summarizes a walkthrough published October 6, 2026. It is a suggested approach, not a guaranteed three-star method or a Supercell-approved layout. Use the battle’s actual troop movement and defense targeting to decide whether to follow each placement.

- Open from the top with a grouped force. The walkthrough places all 10 Totem Throwers at the top, followed by two Healers, the Ruin Witch, Log Launcher and Grand Warden. It also sends the Clan Castle troops and Wall Breaker with this group. These are the walkthrough’s reported placements, not details confirmed by Supercell.
- Support the main push. Cast the Angry Spell over the group as it advances through the first compartment. Keeping the force together gives the Throwers’ attacks a chance to stun nearby defenses and create decoys along the push.
- Open side paths with the heroes. Send the Archer Queen down the left flank and the Minion Prince down the right. The guide recommends using the Queen’s ability early.
- Use the Prince’s recall for a second angle. Let the Minion Prince’s Portal Pendant activate and return him to the deployment bar, then redeploy him near the bottom by the Eagle Artillery. The guide cautions that a nearby King may be recalled too, so wait to deploy the King until after the Prince has moved.
- Save spells for the threats they address. The walkthrough recommends casting Poison when defending Archers reach the main group, using Invisibility as the group crosses the core, and keeping two or three Totem Spells for the final defenses. Treat those counts and timings as the guide’s advice rather than official challenge requirements.
What the walkthrough does—and does not—establish
The detailed troop setup, placements, spell timing and reported challenge rewards come from TrophyCoach’s October 6, 2026 walkthrough. Supercell’s season announcement confirms the event window, eligibility and Totem Thrower behavior, but does not substantiate that exact army configuration or the guide’s reward figures. For those live challenge details, rely on what the game shows rather than treating the third-party report as official.
