Start with the official product identity
Before comparing sellers, establish what you are actually buying. The official PlayStation Store identifies a PS5 game published by Saber Interactive. Official Xbox information lists the game for Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Xbox Play Anywhere and other platform capabilities. Steam lists the PC game and a Deluxe Edition. Nintendo UK lists a Nintendo Switch 2 version for that region. Availability, release timing, language support, age rating, editions and payment rules can differ by country, so a listing that is correct in one region may not be valid for yours.

Use this identity checklist
- Platform: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC through the Microsoft store, Steam, or Nintendo Switch 2 where the regional store lists it.
- Edition: Standard or Deluxe, spelled out on the platform’s checkout page.
- License type: a game license or platform redemption code, not a seller’s account.
- Region: the country or territory attached to your account and payment method.
- Publisher/developer: the official Xbox listing identifies Saber Interactive as both publisher and developer; compare that identity rather than trusting a copied logo.
Know the official editions before judging a deal
The official PlayStation, Xbox and Steam pages show Standard and Deluxe offerings. The Deluxe package is not a second game; it adds digital extras to the full game. The following prices were displayed on US storefront pages accessed October 13, 2026. They are dated observations, not a permanent price or a universal regional price.

On the PlayStation description, Deluxe Content DLC includes the “The Nailer” melee weapon, “Cenobite” shotgun skin, “Punisher” baseball bat skin, “Leviathan” weapon charm, a digital art book, digital soundtrack, digital novella and an ’80s horror movie filter. The PlayStation preorder description names the “Labyrinth” pistol skin and “Martyr” sawblade skin. Treat preorder benefits as conditional: confirm that the store still advertises them and states the qualifying purchase window.
Do not assume that every platform uses identical bundle names or that a code bought in one ecosystem can be redeemed in another. Read the platform, edition and included-content lines on the live checkout page.
Compare a marketplace listing with the official baseline
A third-party offer is worth considering only after you have recorded the current official price and edition for your region. Compare the complete transaction, not the headline number.
Check the item itself
- Does the title say Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, or is it a similarly named soundtrack, art item, account, add-on or unrelated game?
- Is it Standard or Deluxe? If Deluxe content is promised, is every extra named and tied to the same platform?
- Is delivery a platform code, a direct digital entitlement, or a physical product? Do not infer a physical copy from a promotional image.

A legitimate sale can reflect a regional promotion, a bundle change or a used physical product; the seller should be able to explain the difference in terms you can verify in the platform store and marketplace policy.

Complete this pre-payment procedure
- Open the official store directly. Type the platform’s address or use its installed store application instead of following a seller’s link. Search for the game and note the platform, edition, current price and release or availability status.
- Capture the exact offer details. Save the edition name, included DLC, region wording, delivery format and any preorder qualification. A marketplace headline is not enough.
- Open the marketplace policy. Find the refund deadline, eligibility exclusions, dispute process and protection rules for digital goods, codes and accounts.
- Verify the seller inside the marketplace. Check contact information, history and whether the account is authorized to sell codes or physical games. Do not treat ratings alone as proof; look for a clear description and consistent transaction history.
- Ask one specific question through marketplace messaging. Request confirmation of platform, region, edition and delivery method. A seller who avoids a direct answer or insists on private messaging has not resolved the risk.
- Pay only through the supported checkout. Use a payment method covered by the marketplace’s stated protection. Do not send money to a personal account, external payment address or gift-card number because a seller promises a discount.
- Confirm the payment in your own account. Sign in through the payment provider’s app or website. Never rely on an emailed screenshot or notification supplied by the seller.
- Redeem without surrendering control. Enter a code only in the platform’s official redemption screen. Never provide your platform password, one-time verification code or recovery details.
- Test the entitlement promptly. Confirm that the code matches the advertised game, edition and region, then retain proof until the protection period expires.
Digital-code and PC-download risks
Steam Support warns that a key offered in a scam may be for a different game, fake, already used or region-restricted. A code can look plausible while failing only at redemption, when a marketplace’s refund window may already be difficult to use. Match the exact title, platform, edition and region before purchase.
Safer digital-key checks
- Prefer the official platform store. If you use a third-party seller, independently verify its authorization, refund terms and regional compatibility.
- Confirm whether the code is new, unused and redeemable in your account country. “Global,” “EU,” “NA” or similar labels require a precise explanation.
- Reject offers that deliver an account instead of a transferable license. Account sales can leave you unable to change ownership or recover access.
- Do not install an “early demo,” “beta launcher,” “redemption utility” or other file supplied outside the platform. Steam recommends downloading software from official sources and treating links from others skeptically.
- Never give a seller your account password, backup codes or verification code. A legitimate code seller does not need them.
Payment and message scams to stop immediately
Keep the conversation and payment in the marketplace flow when that is what activates its protection. The FTC describes several tactics that imitate a completed sale or manufacture urgency.

Fake payment notifications
A message may claim that your payment is pending, your account must be upgraded, or you need to pay a small release fee. Open the payment account independently and check its transaction record. Do not click the message’s link or send an additional payment.
Overpayment and refund requests
A scammer may appear to pay too much, then ask you to return the difference. Do not deposit a check for more than the sale price or refund money before your payment provider confirms that the original funds are final. For a purchase, an analogous request to pay a second “verification” amount is a reason to cancel.
Verification-code requests
A one-time code proves control of an account. Do not share it with a buyer, seller or supposed support agent. If someone asks for it to “release” a Hellraiser: Revival code, stop and contact the platform through its official support route.

Off-platform pressure
Urgency, secrecy, a request to move to private email, or a promise that marketplace fees disappear outside checkout removes the protections you were trying to use. End the conversation and report the listing rather than negotiating around the rule.
Physical, collector and preorder claims require proof
Community discussions have mentioned physical and collector editions, but the reviewed primary storefront information does not establish their official status, contents or current availability. Do not treat a forum post, product mock-up or seller photograph as confirmation of an authorized edition.
If a listing claims to be physical or collectible, require a precise description of what is shipped, the territory in which it can be used, the publisher or retailer authorization, dispatch timing and the return process. Compare those details with a live official announcement or store page. If the seller cannot provide verifiable information, choose a confirmed digital edition or wait.
What to do when a listing fails a check
Before paying
- Do not click further links or download attachments.
- Save the listing URL, seller name, messages and screenshots.
- Report the listing through the marketplace’s abuse or fraud channel.
- Search the official platform store independently and buy there if the offer is still suitable.
After paying but before redeeming
- Do not send additional money, codes or account details.
- Use the marketplace dispute process within its stated deadline.
- Contact the payment provider through its official app or website and ask what cancellation or charge-dispute options apply.
- Change your password if you entered credentials on a suspicious page, and enable multifactor authentication.
After a failed or invalid code
- Record the platform’s exact error and the time you attempted redemption.
- Ask the seller for a replacement or refund only through the marketplace record.
- Escalate to marketplace support and the platform’s support team with the receipt and error evidence.
- Report suspected fraud to the relevant consumer-protection authority in your country.
Platform-specific buying checklist
PS5
Confirm that the page is the PlayStation Store listing for PS5, then compare Standard or Deluxe and the displayed region and price. Deluxe Content DLC and preorder cosmetics should appear in the edition description, not only in a seller’s image.
Xbox Series X|S and PC
Use the official Xbox Store page to verify whether the offer is for Xbox Series X|S, PC or both, and whether the stated Xbox Play Anywhere capability applies. A code for one platform is not automatically a license for another.

Steam
Open the Steam product page directly, match the exact edition and region, and redeem only inside Steam. Treat an external installer, account hand-off or request for your Steam credentials as unacceptable.
Nintendo Switch 2
The Nintendo UK listing is regional. Check your own country’s Nintendo store for release date, language, age rating, edition and payment details instead of importing assumptions from the UK page.
How to decide between two apparently legitimate offers
Once both sellers pass the safety checks, score the offers in this order:
- License compatibility: your platform and account region must match.
- Edition accuracy: Standard and Deluxe must identify the same included content.
- Protection: the marketplace must cover this item, seller and payment route.
- Total cost: include taxes, fees, currency conversion and delivery.
- Fulfillment: prefer an immediate official entitlement or clearly described physical shipment over an account transfer or separate download.
- Seller accountability: choose the offer with verifiable contact details and a usable refund path.
A lower price is not an advantage if the code is region-locked, already used, excluded from refunds or delivered through an account you do not control.
