On WordPress.com, connect your Threads account through Jetpack → Social. Once connected, new posts are shared to Threads automatically; you can review or change sharing settings for each post before publishing. WordPress.com documents this no-code workflow, but its instructions do not establish that the same interface or eligibility applies to every self-hosted WordPress site.
Connect Threads to WordPress.com
- Sign in to Threads before starting.
- In your WordPress.com site dashboard, open Jetpack → Social.
- Choose Add account, select Threads, then click Connect.
- Approve the connection in the Threads authorization window.
- Return to WordPress.com and confirm the connection.
- Publish a new post, then check Threads to verify that it was shared.
These are the steps in WordPress.com’s Jetpack Social connection guide, last reviewed August 20, 2026. After setup, each new post is shared automatically. Before publishing an individual post, review its sharing settings if you want to adjust whether or how it is shared.
Review the message before publishing
Automatic sharing saves a manual step, but it does not guarantee that the post will read well on Threads. Threads is text-forward, so consider the text that accompanies the share and tailor it to that audience. Use the individual post’s sharing settings to make changes before publication rather than assuming every WordPress headline and excerpt will work unchanged.
If a WordPress post does not appear on Threads
WordPress.com recommends disconnecting and reconnecting the Threads account for most sharing problems. After reconnecting, publish a new post as a test. This is a recommended recovery step, not a guarantee that every missing post will be fixed.
#1 Best Overall
WordPress.com also points to separate troubleshooting guidance for scheduled posts, republished drafts, and static pages. The connection guide does not explain the cause or remedy for each of those cases, so check the relevant troubleshooting instructions for the specific type of post rather than assuming all missing shares have the same cause.
What about self-hosted WordPress?
The documented connection steps are for a WordPress.com site. They do not establish that Jetpack Social’s Threads connection is available on every self-hosted WordPress installation, nor do they specify a plan requirement. If your site is self-hosted, verify current Threads support and eligibility for your setup before relying on automatic sharing.

Other ways to publish, and tools that do something different
Threads API: a developer route
Meta’s Threads API documentation describes a programmatic workflow: create a Meta app with the Threads use case, authorize data access, and make API requests to create and publish posts. Its collection documents an optional auto_publish_text flag that publishes a text post when its media container is created, without a separate publish step. This is an API development option, not evidence of a ready-made WordPress plugin. Check Meta’s current documentation and changelog before implementing it.
Meta Embeds: display existing Threads posts
Meta’s Meta Embeds plugin is for displaying existing Threads, Instagram, or Facebook content inside WordPress. Its README describes pasting a Threads URL to render an embed through Meta’s oEmbed endpoint; it lists WordPress 5.9+ and PHP 7.4+ as requirements. It does not describe sending new WordPress posts to Threads automatically, so it is not a cross-posting solution.

Third-party auto-posters: confirm Threads support
The inspected Blog2Social help page describes auto-posting WordPress content when it is published or scheduled. For imported content, the destinations it lists are Facebook, Google Business, LinkedIn, Telegram, and X; Threads is not among them. That page does not verify Blog2Social as a Threads solution. Before choosing any third-party plugin, confirm that it currently supports publishing to Threads and that the support applies to your WordPress setup.
