YouTube Studio does not document a built-in setting for automatically rotating a playlist every week. For a small playlist, reorder it manually in Studio on a regular day. For a genuinely automatic rotation, use an external scheduler to run authorized YouTube Data API playlist-item operations. First decide whether your “radio channel” is a playlist viewers play on demand or a continuous live broadcast: those are different workflows.
Choose the right kind of “radio” workflow
A playlist rotation changes which videos appear in a playlist or their order. A live broadcast sends a continuous stream to viewers. YouTube’s scheduled video publication is a third, separate feature: it makes a private upload public at a selected time, but does not rotate items in an existing playlist.

| What you want | Use | Does it rotate an existing playlist? |
|---|---|---|
| Viewers choose a playlist and play its videos sequentially | Playlist maintenance in Studio, manually or through an external scheduler using the YouTube Data API | Yes, if you reorder or replace playlist items |
| A video release becomes public at a chosen date and time | Scheduled video publishing in YouTube Studio | No |
| A continuous broadcast that viewers tune into | Scheduled live stream in Studio; an encoder workflow uses a stream URL and key | No |
If by “radio” you mean a playlist viewers can start themselves, follow the playlist route below. If you mean a broadcast, use YouTube’s live scheduling workflow instead; changing playlist order does not schedule or operate a live stream.

This is the simplest approach when a person can make the weekly change and the lineup is manageable. Studio supports playlist creation, arrangement choices, visibility edits and drag-and-drop ordering. Interface labels may change, so check the current Studio flow when you do the update.
#1 Best Overall
- [XLR Mic Input] One XLR microphone input interface is set on the gaming audio mixer, which is great to up your audio quality with your XLR setup. The XLR mixer is a stepping stone to upgrade your live streaming. Audio mixer offered built-in 48V phantom power which opens up more choices for mics. Directly use it with your condenser microphone but do not solve added peripherals. (NOT available for USB mic)
- [Individual Channel Control] Gaming audio mixer for one mic recording with smooth volume slider fader take your streaming recording to a whole new level with full pleasure. Four independent channels set on the DJ mixer give audio volume of the MICROPHONE, LINE IN, HEADPHONE, and LINE OUT channels individual control. Configurable on the PC audio mixer instead of just operating on your game or streaming software.
- [Mute and Monitor] The front mute and monitor buttons but not at the back, make it easier to get the audio interface use. Ability to mute audio, the audio mixer for streaming prevents background noise from damaging your live broadcast. Real-time feedback between speaking and hearing will not distract your attention, which encourage you to speak more confidently. The sturdy-built control button allow you to operate freely and easily during live streaming.
- [Sound Effects] The computer sound mixer supports four pre-recorded customized button that can be recorded and activated at the press of button to post production. 6 kinds of voice changing modes change your output style. 12 auto tune changes the tone of your voice. The podcast mixer being able to add different and fun effects is a huge bonus for your streaming or game voice.
- [Controllable Vibrant RGB] RGB button on the audio mixer DJ meets different live streaming themes. Lights on the video mixer is vibrant but not harsh on your eyes. Flowing or frozen RGB color rotation in a decent pace presents a greatly strong impression as a "light show" to your audience. Even a streaming equipment accessory will not be dull looking when video production.
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Content, then the Playlists view. Create a playlist if you do not already have one, or open the playlist you plan to maintain.
- Add the videos for the upcoming rotation and remove any that should no longer appear.
- Choose the playlist’s arrangement. To control a precise sequence, use manual ordering, then drag videos into the intended order.
- Review the playlist’s visibility and confirm that its title and description still match the current lineup.
- Repeat on a stable weekly day and time. Decide in advance whether each update replaces the whole lineup or changes only selected items.
This is a recurring human task, not a native automatic weekly rotation. YouTube’s creator guidance recommends choosing a sustainable schedule and communicating schedule changes to viewers: YouTube’s upload schedule guidance.
Option 2: Automate playlist edits with an external scheduler and the Data API
YouTube’s Data API provides operations to insert playlist items and update their positions. Combining those operations with a separate recurring scheduler is a technically plausible way to automate weekly changes; it is an implementation approach, not a YouTube turnkey scheduler or a specific service endorsed by YouTube. The playlist must use manual sorting for position updates, and write operations require authorized credentials.

Plan the rotation before connecting automation
- Define the target playlist and the desired weekly lineup, including each video’s intended position.
- Choose whether the job will replace the full lineup or only insert, remove or reposition a subset.
- Set a consistent weekly day, time and time zone in the external scheduler.
- Decide what the job should do if an item is unavailable or cannot be edited, and how you will be notified when a run fails.
- Use a test playlist first. Log the target playlist and intended item positions, run a dry run if your implementation supports it, then verify results before applying changes to the production playlist.
Configure authorized API access
- In Google’s developer tools, create or select a project and enable the YouTube Data API v3.
- Configure OAuth authorization for the YouTube account that owns or can edit the target playlist. Keep credentials private; the scheduler needs authorized access to perform write operations.
- Have your job read the planned lineup, identify the playlist items to insert or reposition, and call the relevant playlist-item operations. Consult Google’s current references for inserting playlist items, updating playlist items and positions and YouTube API authorization.
- Set the playlist’s ordering to manual before relying on API position updates. The API reference notes that position updates require manual sorting.
- Run the scheduler against the test playlist, check the resulting order in Studio, and inspect logs for errors before enabling the weekly production run.
API operations can fail when a playlist or item is unsupported or inaccessible, or when the account lacks sufficient authorization. Use the current API documentation to check permissions and errors rather than assuming every playlist is editable. YouTube does not document the external scheduler component as a native playlist-rotation feature.

Keep playlist rotation separate from publishing and live scheduling
Scheduled video publication
You can schedule a private video to become public at a specific time. This helps coordinate releases, but does not move or replace items in a playlist. YouTube notes that the watch-page publication date follows Pacific Standard Time. See YouTube’s scheduled publishing instructions.

Scheduled live broadcast
If viewers should tune into a broadcast, schedule a live stream through YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. For an encoder stream, YouTube provides a stream URL and key. YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; check the current live-stream guidance for the workflow and applicable details: Schedule a live stream.
Check rights and playlist eligibility
Only add videos you are entitled to use. A playlist’s presence on YouTube does not grant permission to broadcast or redistribute its contents. Before automating a weekly lineup, check the rights for each recording and handle any video that becomes unavailable.

Do not confuse a series playlist with a rotation scheduler. YouTube describes series playlists as a way to mark an official set of videos intended to be viewed together. They require a verified account; a video can appear in only one series playlist, and only videos uploaded by the creator and rights-cleared by them can be added. These limits do not automate playlist edits. See YouTube’s series playlist guidance.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTroubleshoot a rotation that does not work
- The playlist order did not change: Check that the playlist is set to manual sorting and that the API job updated the intended items and positions.
- The API rejects a write: Confirm that OAuth authorization belongs to an account with access to the playlist, and check whether the playlist or item is supported and accessible.
- The wrong weekly lineup appeared: Compare the scheduler’s input file or schedule with its run log. Test the planned positions on a separate playlist before changing production.
- A scheduled video did not enter the playlist: Remember that scheduled publishing only changes when a video becomes public; it does not rotate a playlist. Add or reorder the item separately.
- Viewers expected a live broadcast: A playlist is not a live stream. Schedule a broadcast in the Live Control Room and configure the encoder workflow if needed.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep a YouTube broadcast running from uploaded videos rather than automate an on-demand playlist, StreamNeo is a separate option. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once and go live; the cloud loops your uploaded videos so your computer and home connection do not need to stay on. It supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. This is for a YouTube live broadcast, not automatic weekly editing of an on-demand YouTube playlist. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
