Assemble a Secretlab chair from the wheelbase upward: press in the casters, fit the Class 4 hydraulic piston and sleeve, attach the tilt mechanism and backrest, secure the covers and hardware, then install the armrest tops and magnetic head pillow. Use the assembly guide for your exact model and watch Secretlab’s assembly video first. Most users complete the build in about 20 minutes, but a missing or damaged structural part is a reason to stop and contact support rather than improvise.
Before you start: identify the chair and use the right guide
Secretlab sells several chair families and sizes, and the hardware is not necessarily identical between them. Find the full model name and size on your order information, packaging or chair documentation before opening the toolkit. Then use that model’s supplied assembly guide. The TITAN Evo sequence described below is a practical reference, not a substitute for the instructions packaged with another family.

Secretlab strongly recommends watching its assembly video before attempting the build. The video lets you see the orientation of the tilt mechanism, the order in which covers are fitted and how the chair is supported while it is turned upright. Set aside roughly 20 minutes for a normal assembly, with extra time if you are working alone or checking a replacement part.

- Clear a level area large enough to lay the wheelbase and seat on their sides.
- Keep the chair supported when tilting it upright; do not let the backrest or mechanism take an uncontrolled load.
- Keep all screws and covers together until the relevant step in the model guide.
- Do not continue if the piston, a caster, the tilt mechanism or another structural component is visibly damaged.
Check every part and tool before tightening anything

The TITAN Evo toolkit contains a long Allen key, M8 screws, a magnetic screwdriver handle and a reversible Phillips/hex bit. Confirm that the screws, bit and Allen key are present before starting. If a required item is missing, pause assembly and contact Secretlab instead of substituting hardware.
Assembly sequence for a TITAN Evo
Build from the wheelbase upward. Keep the model guide beside you because the illustrations show the correct orientation and any model-specific hardware.
1. Press the casters into the wheelbase
- Place the aluminum wheelbase on a protected, level surface with its caster sockets accessible.
- Align each PU caster stem with a socket.
- Press each caster firmly into place until it is fully seated. Work around the base rather than attaching the piston first, so the base remains stable while you fit the wheels.
- Inspect every caster from the side. A stem that is only partly inserted can make the chair unstable or prevent the piston from seating correctly.
2. Install the hydraulic piston and sleeve
- Insert the Class 4 hydraulic piston into the center of the wheelbase.
- Fit the hydraulic sleeve in the position shown in the guide.
- Do not force a part that does not align. Check that the piston is centered and that the sleeve is the correct way around before proceeding.
3. Attach the multi-functional tilt mechanism
- Place the tilt mechanism on the underside of the seatbase in the orientation shown for your model.
- Use the supplied hardware and the long Allen key or reversible bit specified by the guide.
- Start every screw by hand so the threads engage evenly. Once all hardware is started, tighten it in the order and manner shown in the guide.
- Confirm that the height and tilt-lock handles are installed and move as expected before placing the seatbase on the piston.
4. Join the seatbase to the piston
- With the wheelbase upright and stable, align the center opening of the tilt mechanism with the top of the hydraulic piston.
- Lower the seatbase straight down onto the piston. Avoid twisting the mechanism while the parts are only partially engaged.
- Check that the seat is fully seated before adding the backrest.
5. Attach the backrest
- Keep the seat supported while bringing the backrest into position.
- Align the backrest mounting points with the tilt mechanism and seatbase hardware.
- Install and tighten the specified screws using the supplied tools. Keep the backrest supported until all required hardware is engaged.
- Move the backrest gently through its normal range only after the hardware is secure.
6. Fit the side covers and remaining hardware
Install the magnetic side covers after the backrest hardware is secured. The covers are designed to conceal the side mounting area; they should sit flush without being forced. If a cover will not seat, recheck the underlying hardware and the orientation shown in the guide rather than bending the cover.

7. Install the CloudSwap-compatible armrest tops
The TITAN Evo’s armrest bodies are part of the seatbase, while the tops attach separately. Align each CloudSwap-compatible top with its mount and press it into place as shown in the model instructions. Confirm that each top is locked before using the armrest or attempting to adjust its position.
8. Attach the magnetic head pillow
Place the magnetic memory-foam head pillow against the upper backrest. Its magnets should pull it into the intended position without screws or straps. If it does not align, check that the pillow is facing the correct way and that no packaging material remains between the pillow and backrest.
Checks to perform before sitting down
- Look under the seat and confirm that all specified M8 screws and other hardware are present and tightened.
- Verify that the wheelbase has five fully seated casters and that the piston is centered in the base.
- Raise and lower the chair using the height handle while standing beside it, then test the tilt-lock handle without placing your full weight on the chair.
- Check that the backrest is secure, the side covers are flush, the armrest tops are locked and the head pillow is attached.
- Roll the chair a short distance on the intended floor surface and watch for a caster that wobbles, binds or pulls out.
Stop immediately if the chair leans, a screw will not engage, a caster is loose or the mechanism makes a structural-looking crack. Secretlab’s support team is the appropriate next step for an assembly issue that cannot be resolved by the model guide.

Fix armrests that are too far apart
There are two adjustment levels. Try the reversible top adjustment first; it does not disturb the armrest’s structural mounting.

Move the armrest top inward
- Sit or stand beside the chair so you can reach the inner edge of the armrest.
- Press the black button on the inner edge.
- While holding the button, slide the armrest top inward toward the seat.
- Release the button and check that the top has locked in its new position.
Reposition the entire armrest
If the top adjustment does not provide enough range, reposition the armrest body at its mounting points:
- Turn the chair so the underside of the affected armrest is accessible and support the chair securely.
- Loosen the three M8 screws under that armrest. Do not remove more hardware than the guide requires.
- Shift the armrest closer to the seat.
- Retighten all three screws evenly and fully before using the armrest.
This second method changes the armrest’s structural position, so check alignment and screw tightness carefully. If a screw is missing, stripped or will not tighten, stop and contact Secretlab rather than using a different fastener.

Fix rough or uneven height adjustment
A rough-feeling height control can result from lubricant not being evenly distributed in the Class IV hydraulic piston. Secretlab’s aftercare procedure redistributes that lubricant without disassembling the cylinder.
- Sit in the chair and raise it to its highest position.
- Lower it to its lowest position.
- Repeat the complete highest-to-lowest movement at least 10 times.
- Leave the chair at its lowest height.
- Rotate the height control clockwise for five full turns.
- Rotate it anticlockwise for five full turns.
Perform the movements smoothly and keep the chair on a stable surface. Do not open, puncture or attempt to refill the hydraulic piston. The procedure is for rough movement; it is not a repair for a leaking, bent or otherwise damaged cylinder.

Choose replacement casters without guessing
Start with the exact chair family and size. Secretlab lists Premium Extra Small Casters, Soft Rollerblade Casters and Static Stand as accessory options for TITAN Evo, TITAN Evo Lite and Classics chairs. That list does not mean every option fits every size or configuration. Search using the full model name and verify compatibility on the relevant product information before ordering.

Replace a caster only when the chair is stable and supported. Remove the old wheel according to the accessory instructions, compare the replacement stem and socket, and press the new caster fully into place. If the stem does not match, do not sand, drill or force it into the base; compatibility needs to be confirmed with Secretlab.
What to do about missing, damaged or defective parts
Do not improvise a structural repair with a substitute screw, adhesive, tape or a non-matching caster. Photograph the affected area and keep your order number available. Secretlab asks owners to submit a support ticket with photos and the order number; for mechanical issues, a short video can help show the symptom. The aftercare guidance also points owners to the applicable warranty information.
- Missing hardware: stop before the step that needs it and list the absent item in the support request.
- Damaged piston, tilt mechanism or wheelbase: do not sit in the chair or attempt to straighten or open the part.
- Cracked or defective cover: keep the damaged piece and photograph how it fits; do not force it into place.
- Mechanical noise or movement after assembly: record a short video showing the control, movement and sound, then contact support.
For any issue that persists after following the model guide or the piston procedure, Secretlab’s support team is the authoritative escalation route. Include the chair’s full model and size, the order number, clear photos and a concise description of what happens when you operate the chair.

Safe completion checklist
Before regular use, the chair should have a fully seated caster in every wheelbase socket, a centered piston, a secure tilt mechanism, a firmly attached backrest, flush covers, locked armrest tops and a magnetically attached head pillow. Height and tilt controls should operate without forcing them. If any of those conditions is not met, return to the exact model guide or open a support ticket before using the chair.
